Question: do you think Ashley's family is okay after ME3? They were on the citadel and it did blow up....

I couldn't see Ash's reaction to their death... so sad :(

I hope so, I'm not sure if her whole family was there though.

I think it was her whole family, but I like to think that her family had made it off the Citadel before the Reapers moved it into Earth's orbit.

Hey everybody, I have Shepards that romanced both Ashley and Tali(my canon Shep is loyal to Ash) and I was thinking deeper about each character. I hate the fact that Ashley is always labeled as a racist when she clearly isn't. How come Tali escapes this label when she is arguably one of the most racist/prejudice characters in ME. She even admits after(if you chose to) save both the geth and the quarians, that she would have wiped the geth out. She says this after knowing Legion for a game and a half and knowing that most of the geth(excluding the heretics) want peace. Does anybody have any ideas on how Ash is so blatantly misrepresented as a racist and how Tali surprisingly doesn't get such a deserving label.

The more I think about Tali the less I like her, could be a good thing just means I like Ash more lol

And I also like to think her family made it off the Citadel.

I blame TNS for the pancake distraction LOL

Because she is human. Her relationship with Shepard is like a real one. Ups and downs and she has no problem speaking her mind. I honestly think that people are so obssesed with Tali and Liara because they aren't human. Which is fine but I wish they would at least treat Ash with the respect and appreciation she deserves.

One of the main reasons I like Ashley is because she speaks her mind and it feels like a relationship you would see in RL.

Yeah the fact that Ash does feel like such a real relationship is why she is my fav. I just wish that Tali got the racist label she deserves.

But i'm done "Talibashing" just wish, like what you said, that Ash got the respect and appreciation she deserves

`BP93: That was a good letter. Keep up the good work, guys!

whos better to take with you and liara on thessia ashley or javik story wise, i hear he has unique dialogue with the illusive man.

I took Ash with me because it's easy to find Javik's dialogue on youtube - I bring Ash everywhere to try and get as much dialogue out her as possible, Ashley and Liara were my squad for most missions and I found that Ashley was the one who usually talked out of the two when there was an opportunity, which let me enjoy a particularly hilarious moment during the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery whenShepard starts freaking out about a noise he hears and Ash is like, 'whoops, sorry just me' .
Anyway, basically the difference is that if you bring Ash or another team along to Thessia they will snark about how the Asari goddess looks like a Prothean whereas Javik will confirm that goddess is a Prothean and make various comments about Protheans' interaction with the Asari. Either way Liara will be in denial about the situation.

*off to write an Ash letter, I am surprised so far only 2 have been contributed*

Mind to post it?

Also I had Ash on Thessia. Too bad she didn't say anything following the mission. I really wanted her as Shepard's mainstay, beacon of hope and comforting lover. Instead of, Shepard joined Liara on her bed
(Yeah, she needs comfort too, but in her bed?)

^ that's an unfair comparison:

Fanart-modified Ashley (more beautiful than "non-modified" Ashley)

versus

Non-finished beta-Ashley of ME3.

For her fans she's even more beautiful since we love her character too ^^

I completely agree but for me at least I could take any character model because I love Ash for her character/personality, doesn't really matter what she looks like

Yes and no.
I think Ashley's fine looks did a lot to me. A plain-looking Ash wouldn't catch my attention in the first place (it may end in a love 'though) I and an ugly one wouldn't go through the friendship zone (since I still like her character). It may sound shallow - but it's honest.

Ash has everything to me: beautiful character and beautiful looks.
If she comes with plain looks and beautiful character, I'd love her too.
Ash with a plain character and beautiful looks wouldn't make it past a fling.
Ash with plain both wouldn't get past the friendzone.
Ash with ugly character and beautiful looks wouldn't even enter the friendzone ....

etc

Love.

Three years ago I met an unique woman on Eden Prime.
Still fighting against overwhelming forces, when everyone else fled or died.
Proud and strong.
But tainted by her name - "Williams".
She was the granddaughter of General Williams.
The only human who had ever surrendered,
to an alien fleet. To safe thousands of innocents.
The name of this woman was Ashley Williams.

I don't know why, but I was fascinated the very moment
when her eyes meet mine.
I felt attached to her, wanted to protect this woman,
although she never needed protection.
She was a soldier. Proud and strong.
And she was a woman, with beautiful hair,
soft skin and tempting lips, with a soft voice,
promising me more than just friendship.

We fell for each other,
with every passing hour.
And when we finally met,
at the eve of the final battle,
I knew I could never let her go again.

I love you, Ashley.

- Commander Shepard
Scrapped love letter.

Now sure what exactly they did in ME3 (I can only compare my Shepards), but I liked her old look. They just crossed that thin line for me. It's like woman put a too much make-up. Or inject... Well, what they inject into their lips to make them bigger?

Dunno. I compared her old face and the new one - everything's the same, including beauty spots and lip size.
All Ash did was to put on some gloss and make up. It's -really- decent compared to what today women do.

For some of the stuff women do when applying make-up, an used car dealer would be put in jail.
(Rough translation of a saying in Germany)

Ashley is a natural beauty. I concur, it doesn't make much sense for a soldier woman to put on make-up, but Ash is no grunt anymore. She's an officer. Why shouldn't she wear decent make-up?
The only real issue is her hair: she should wear a bun instead open hair in the battlefield. Besides that, I don't feel offended by open hair. It's okay to me while off-duty.

Also I loved her old look. I dislike the fact Ash got sexed up for ... yeah, to sex her up. That's a cheap decision from BW, especially since Ash was fine in ME1/ME2. Of course, women tend to change hairstyle and make-up frequently, so that's my headcanon explanation for Ashley's changes and not the "sex her up" stuff.

Dear Bioware,

When I first began Mass Effect all those years ago one thing that struck me was how each character had so much depth to them and how you were able to walk around your ship exploring each character and learning more and more about them with each passing conversation. However, from the first game and onwards my Shepard was transfixed with one in particular, Ashley Williams.

When we first met Ashley we saw a strong, capable soldier trying to fend off a geth attack almost solely on her own as her squad had been decimated on Eden Prime. Shepard was amazed and had feelings for her from the first moment he saw her. In a cheesy way it was love at first sight, at least for him. After she is assigned to the Normandy Shepard can start to work his magic and slowly but surely break down that hard outer shell she has to reveal a truly wonderful and deep person. She is sceptical, at first, about allowing Krogans and Turians to wonder freely around a human vessel which is a cautious and sensible thing to point out to Shepard but this in no way makers her racist. As the game goes on she works closely with the aliens on board and ends up making some great friendships, in Garrus and Tali in particular, again disproving any theories of being a racist.

Ashley had grown up having to take care of her sisters and as a result they became very close and throughout Mass Effect the idea and importance of family are key to Ashley which I personally found a very endearing trait of her personality. She also loves poetry and has a religious faith and I loved getting to hear her speak random verses at certain points throughout the games which fit in with the scenario perfectly. She also is confident and has her own set of beliefs which she sticks too and feels comfortable in calling out Shepard in any decisions she may not fully agree with unlike any other character who follow like sheep.

Ashley and Shepard share a perfect night together and their love has fully blossomed by this time. However, it isn’t an easy ride for the relationship as Shepard soon dies after a Collector attack and Ash has to try and move on and get over Shepard, something she is never able to fully do. But he is brought back and even though she can’t go with him after Horizon she finally has something to cling too, hope.

I felt in Mass Effect 3 that the opportunity for dialogue was sorely missing at times. I want to have the same chances to speak to Ash as I did in ME1 when after every mission we learnt more about each other. Surely, after all that had happened we would have even more to talk about but yet it seems this was an opportunity missed. However, the scene before the assault on the Cerberus base is a beautiful and poignant one and we see their love has now become something that death itself could not rip apart. I just wish we had been given more chance to interact with our LIs in Mass Effect 3 and I wish that somehow my decisions could have lead to Shepard and Ashley walking off arm round each others waists to leave behind war forever and live together in peace and happiness.

Please let there be one day we'll happily be together
Forever alone with just one another

Signed Dannycni

So I went digging in the textures to have a go at tweaking some of them and I stumbled across this one.

Guess who?

I apologise in advance if this gives anyone nightmares. I am truly sorry.
