Flattened Ashley is flattened!
And you did it for ... what?
I was actually looking for the texture belonging to her casual armour thingy. I might have a go at tweaking it.

Dunno. I compared her old face and the new one - everything's the same, including beauty spots and lip size.
Unless we extract her head model from ME1/2 and ME2 and compare them by vertexes, so to speak and then compare textured side-by-side, I'll stick to my opinion. It has nothing to do with my wish to oppose you - I respect you, but I see something different, something I can't pinpoint, something I don't like, so I'll wait till then.
For example, if you compare lips of my Shepards from those pics I posted here - on frontal image they looks bigger, yet on side view vertexes for lips are still there on their old places - meaning they just replaced texture.
Brows, on the contrary, received some model rehash.

All Ash did was to put on some gloss and make up. It's -really- decent compared to what today women do.
No argument here. Sometimes I just want to ask some of them "why you uglify yourself, you already beautiful?"
CptData wrote...
For some of the stuff women do when applying make-up, an used car dealer would be put in jail.
(Rough translation of a saying in Germany)
And they say Germans lacking sense of humour.
Good phrase, I like.
CptData wrote...
Ashley is a natural beauty. I concur, it doesn't make much sense for a soldier woman to put on make-up, but Ash is no grunt anymore. She's an officer. Why shouldn't she wear decent make-up?
1. There are regulations. Not sure for them in Bunderwehr, but they exist here and in those regulations of foreign armies I've read.
2. Being officer - means being more responsible. Officer is sort of "role model" and "referense standard", used to appraise and measure rest of military. It doesn't mean "I'm officer, I can anything I want". Quite the contrary.
CptData wrote...
The only real issue is her hair: she should wear a bun instead open hair in the battlefield. Besides that, I don't feel offended by open hair. It's okay to me while off-duty.
We already agreed on that.
CptData wrote...
Also I loved her old look. I dislike the fact Ash got sexed up for ... yeah, to sex her up. That's a cheap decision from BW, especially since Ash was fine in ME1/ME2. Of course, women tend to change hairstyle and make-up frequently, so that's my headcanon explanation for Ashley's changes and not the "sex her up" stuff.
I cannot give myself any logical and sensible reason for Ash to undergo those procedures. It is purely developers decision, totally out of character, and all other "out of..." I can think of.

So I went digging in the textures to have a go at tweaking some of them and I stumbled across this one.
Guess who?
Judging by gloss I'd say it's ME3.

I apologise in advance if this gives anyone nightmares. I am truly sorry.
If this gives someone nightmares - that person has nothing to do in this thread!

I've only ever done a few new paint jobs for flight sims. This is quite a step up. I'm just experimenting anyway. Nothing will probably come out of it.

Since you recently joined you have to wait a certain period of time before posting pictures. They did this so people couldnt just make new accounts and spam pics like crazy. I joined right after the ending fiasco and I recently just gained the ability to post pictures.

I took Ash with me because it's easy to find Javik's dialogue on youtube - I bring Ash everywhere to try and get as much dialogue out her as possible, Ashley and Liara were my squad for most missions and I found that Ashley was the one who usually talked out of the two when there was an opportunity, which let me enjoy a particularly hilarious moment during the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery whenShepard starts freaking out about a noise he hears and Ash is like, 'whoops, sorry just me' .whos better to take with you and liara on thessia ashley or javik story wise, i hear he has unique dialogue with the illusive man.
Anyway, basically the difference is that if you bring Ash or another team along to Thessia they will snark about how the Asari goddess looks like a Prothean whereas Javik will confirm that goddess is a Prothean and make various comments about Protheans' interaction with the Asari. Either way Liara will be in denial about the situation.
*off to write an Ash letter, I am surprised so far only 2 have been contributed*
Mind to post it?
Also I had Ash on Thessia. Too bad she didn't say anything following the mission. I really wanted her as Shepard's mainstay, beacon of hope and comforting lover. Instead of, Shepard joined Liara on her bed
(Yeah, she needs comfort too, but in her bed?)
IA I see Ash as being my Shepard's mainstay which is why the lack of Ash when she comes back to the Normandy is so damn disappointing.
Anyway, my letter! Hopefully not too many spelling errors - it's really late where I live and my brain wants sleep...
Dear Bioware,
Shepard and Williams - where do I even start? After Eden Prime when my poor John Shepard was angry over the dead marines and colonists and the mission being a failure when Ashley reassures him and reminds him about the lives he did save and he says, ‘Thanks Williams, I needed to hear that’ I knew that she was the one for him, the one who was going to keep him on track and tell him what he needed to hear even if he didn’t want to hear it. Watching Shepard get to know Ash, this solider, this woman, who is strong and capable but at the same time flawed and so very human, was one the highlights for me in Mass Effect. In Mass Effect 2 Shepard seeing Ashley again was painful but I was happy to see she hadn’t changed, she was still the Ash I remember, there to be my Shepard’s compass and tell him that working for Cerberus was wrong. I still think Shepard looking at Ashley’s photo is one of the most romantic moments in the series. I couldn’t wait for Shepard and Ashley to be reunited in Mass Effect 3 and for the most part I wasn’t disappointed, I felt many of the moments they shared, especially on Mars and in the hospital as well as the final two romances scenes were fantastic. What did disappoint me though was after recruiting Ashley suddenly it’s like there is a wall between Shepard and Ashley that can’t be breached - they barely talk to each other and Ashley doesn’t interact with the rest of the Normandy crew even though these are people she knows and cares about. I miss Ashley’s insights and snarky comments before, during, and after missions, I missed the way she teased Shepard, I miss the days when she and Shepard actually talked on the Normandy. I wanted them to talk more about what happened between them on Horizon, I wanted them to talk more about the loss of Kaidan, I wanted Ashley to talk about what she had been up to during the time they were apart. Ashley is an amazing realistic character and that realism is part of her relationship with Shepard too, it’s not all sunshine and roses, it’s an emotional rollercoaster with highs and lows but they overcome it all and find each other again. It’s a brilliant pairing and I really hope that Bioware is somehow able to give us more of their story.

So, we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving
And the moon be still as bright.
For the sword outwears its sheath
And the soul wears out the breast
And a heart must pause to breathe
And love itself have rest.
Though the night was made for loving
And the day returns too soon,
Yet, we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon

Here's an idea that came up elsewhere: We all know the correct gift to buy for Ashley when she's in the hospital. However, say Shepard did manage to survive the end of the game, and he's in the hospital himself. What would Ashley buy for him?
Edwin Shepard would probably get a model ship, since he always buys them for his quarters. Poetry is also as much an option for him as it is Ash, since he has a few poets he likes, and the two of them often communicate with each other that way.

I was also wondering recently with the talk of a Mass Effect film being released, if it focused on the current characters who do you think should play Ashley Williams?
Rachel Bilson came to mind for me
Nah it's still Erica Cerra for me.
