Sorry, but I'm sure that's terrible German on my part. It's been awhile and I don't exactly practice much anymore either. I think my verbs aren't in the correct order. lol

Well, I better don't use my German here. Not because of grammar, but because of "vocabulary". I value CptData, so I'd prefer to stay on friendly terms.

I see on Visii's project about fan art and letters Ashley has currently got the 3rd most letter contributions, a good response clearly, maybe she'll get a few more before deadline

Aber naturlich kann ich Deutch sprechen! (Albeit awful German)

Personality wise I wouldn't necessarily want to date a RL Ash. We'd be too different I think.

You mean - we will not be interesting to her? She's there, saving galaxy, we here, typing about her and eating roast pork?

By the way, my favorite artist: is it possible to add tears to A&S images? Just thinking about that song/pic combo I've told you about.

Well there's that  I just think she might not be someone I'd feel completely comfortable with, I'm rather introvert, she's more extrovert (though her sweetness/sappyness is introvert) Then again, that's...rather unpredictable, since I've never really been close to anyone like her.

Okay, who is "RL Ashley"? Brown-eyed brunette looking like Ashley, or just some generic girl who shoots well, loves her family, love poetry and believes in greater powers? Or combination of both?

If second - there are plenty of those girls.

Lookalike and same character.
Which basically is -really- hard to find.

I wasn't suggesting forced marriage or anything Rudy :P
There's an 'Ash' for everyone out there

If "Ash" stands for "true love", then you're right.
If "Ash" stands for "lookalike + same character" you might end disappointed :pinched:

Ashley: Hey Skipper, wie geht's?
Shepard: Huh? What's up - why that language?
Ashley: It's German.
Shepard: Yeah. And I understand some stuff.
Ashley: Tust du das?
Shepard: Ja.
Ashley: Fein, fein. Okay - great ... now I lack German words.
Shepard: That's okay to me. So why talking in German at all?
Ashley: My other grandfather was from Germany. I think some stuff passed down to me, although we never talked in German that much. And why do you understand it?
Shepard: My family once had a German Shepherd. His barking was German.
Ashley: You're kidding me.
Shepard: Yeah I do. *snickers*
Ashley: So where did you learn it?
Shepard: Had to do it. My instructor in the second bootcamp was German. Lieutenant Wettin. A good man, but his English was awful. "MUUV FORWARTZZ! TAAKE ZAT RIFFLE !!" *shudders*
Ashley: Sounds funny.
Shepard: Was awful. Nearly sounded like stereotypical Germans from ancient war movies you love to watch.
Ashley: *snickers* figures. So you learned German to bear his bad accent?
Shepard: No. One day I told him: "Verdammte Scheisse, sprich deutsch!" ... "God damnit, speak GERMAN!"
Ashley: I understand that line ... remember? What did he say?
Shepard: Had to spend two weeks cleaning the latrine ...
Ashley: *smirks* And then?
Shepard: He gave his orders in German and no one laughed anymore. But we learned something.
Ashley: Nice one, Skip.
Shepard: That's the short story how I learned German. Now ... get to my cabin. MARSCH MARSCH!
Ashley: Aye-aye, Commander *smiles*

Pfeh. Back in school I earned award for being best student in English. Passed all exams back in Uni (before I join army) about half year before those exams and was relieved of them totally.
Is it noticable? Doubtful.

BAAAA!
Wrong. My first English was Sherlock Holmes book. Really.
Then there was some simple computer game. Very simple. Then some cartoon. Fallout happenned much later but it because I him I started to learn English - because I don't get a lot. Even now, replaying it, still find something new. It's rarely some language-related issue, mostly some "easter egg" or hint on something, or something like that. But still, I like it.
My first German... I'm from East Europe, do you really think first German phrase I heard was profanity?

What's that? There is only one bootcamp. After it you got only training programs schools, not boot-camps. IT could be some "proficiency" school. Generally not land-navigation or driving, for most of ShepardsPosted Image.

I liked old ME1 Liara - demure persona, sort of strange they decided to twist her that way. I haven't read any comic or book, but it all seems strange, really.

I wrote what I wanted. Well, more or less. I sent first translated part to AMW and untill I hear from anything, I won't translate it further. If you want, I can send same part I sent AMW.
Anyway, I significantly cropped it, comparing it to original version and almost removed "hightmares" part, since "nobody lieks" Posted Image

True son of Poland - if there is beautiful woman, she is OURS. Thumbs up!Posted Image

But I don't think Ash has Slavic roots - no cheekbones (compare with Miranda) plus brown eyes and dark hair somewhat hints on southern ancestry. But our LE brochure was mostly local-based, so can't say for sure.
What I'm sure - Shepard is not Slavic. Posted Image

Now that I think about it almost all the humans in the game are American, Shepard is Canadian b/c of the slight accent but other than that I can't really think of others that are not American. Girard from the Sole survivor assignment is Frenh and Traynor is English, but they are the only ones that pop up in my head

The question was fine - it's "Deutsch", not "Deustch" ^^

That second line ... there's a "sein" (be) missing.
"Some of you seem to be like Ashley" - that's what you wanted to say, right?

Also I still screw up with the English grammar - even after 10 years of experience in written and spoken form, including writing stories ... :P

The Deutsch was a typo woops.

The second line  (supposed to at least) said that "Some of you seem to like Ashley too much." In which case, I did forget something in which case it's "zu viel".

I'm rusty and not a native, cut me some slack!

Hey - it's my Ashley *g*

She has European roots as well American and Australian roots. One of the branches in her family tree leads back to General Lee of the CSA. Another branch leads back to Aurora313 *g*
And of course she has a German branch as well

Experience. As an atheist it's a bit difficult to get in touch with a Catholic girl - and afaik (don't kill me) Poles are proud believers. So it has to be -really- strong love to overcome some issues.
My ex- was not a Catholic but a Jew - and that already resulted in some issues ...
