Feros + Mako = nightmare.

You! You, of all people! With your OFP/ArmA experience!
It's not NFS, stepping on the gas won't work. And zig-zagging too. That area when we climb/descent from one highway on another via collapsed section is one really "bumpy" place. And only if you drive carelessly.

This and negotiating the corners in the ExoGeni building were my problems. It's probably worth mentioning that I didn't stop the fight the Geth and just plowed through them anyway. Dodging their fire and obstacles was...interesting. I didn't go off the edge but my god was it a royal pain in the arse. I can drive it fine any other time.

I am also catagorically one of the worst drivers in ArmA. I'm not as bad as the AI (stopping for a bunny crossing the road...) but I'm damn close. Collateral damage is inevitable when I'm driving. I have no shame in that.

For the god sake! It took only few minutes to deal with that horde of geth. Even in foot. Even in Insanity. Much faster on Mako. And you don't have to dodge anything, just hull down (or, in case of first geth ambush on the way there and back - hull behindPosted Image).

Bunny, lolPosted Image. I guess it just have some "civilian ID". Or maybe guy just loves bunnies - when I played BAF for ArmA2 I lol'ed in one of first missions (2nd probably), when my driver constantly ran over takistanies. He ran over one guy three times: two front and one back (no damn kidding). Proud taki continued to crawl along road.

But jokes aside: I think they dropped the ball with driving in ArmA, IMHO. Driving in OFP was much more funnier and easier. That crosshair and responsive steering were good. I had almost that kind of fun only in Dirt. Not on tanks, of course, but, say, Lancia Stratos. No, I didn't mess up anything, there is Lancia for OFP. Community made add-on.
Plus mouse move actually moved your head around, so when you turned with mouse, your head turned same area and you could see better, was PITA driving on bikes in FPV, but it still PITA in ArmA2.
I guess most developers terminately ill, after all.
Btw, how do you like loops and barrel rolls in ArmA on helicopters, eh?Posted Image

Or you have very big screen.
I don't, but I got the idea. Texts didn't helped that much, really.
that's perfect clarity, btw, unlike ending.

well I wrote a nearly three page paper about Ashley for the LI Project before realizing that it should be less than a page. Just submitted my letter. I hope bioware listens to our voices and gives us more LI content.

I'm not expecting any new LI content. They'd have to bring all the voice actors back, and I suspect Bioware would find that too expensive.

That said, I submitted mine anyway, if only because I wanted Bioware to know that, yes, there are actually people who like Ash, and wish there had been more of her in ME3.

DLC that provides substantially more time/conversations with Ash would be one of the few DLCs I'd be interested in at this point, if they did manage to do it. It's probably the only DLC I'd be willing to pay for.

I don't expect anything, actually. They show us slides about love to our great party, tops.

I think im switching to the tali camp. ME1 Ashley is always going to be my favorite, but when her writer left it really looks like they just completely lost touch with her character. She's there in ME3 but only partially. Compared to the other characters it really seems like she's just a shell of a character (She's the female VS, not Ashley anymore), only there so bioware can say, " there see! your choices do matter!" Once she gets over her fixation with your association with cerberus and things are suppose to be good she completely clams up. She does talk about her family and dad but again that's not really character growth. We already knew and talked to her about these things. She became a spectre and she doesn't even mention it again afterwards. Like really?

It seems to me that the other characters have a writer that cares about them, and Ashley doesn't. It's not a fault of the character, but that's just how it happened to play out. The "added sex appeal" while in itself isn't so bad, is just evidence they didn't know what to do with her character so they glam'd her up. These two clips kind of made me realize how much they don't understand her character.

(she does have another death dialogue but she would never say this to any shepard, ever)
(this one again is just childish. Not Ashley like at all)

Compared to the other two LI's, tali and liara, she just doesn't have anything interesting going on. And this is all just my take on it, I'm not trying to convert people.

I hesitate to post this at all since this is the ashley thread, but surely we can have a civil discussion on how bioware handled ashley. I think I've been around long enough that you guys know I'm not trying to troll anyone. Or at least not you guys :P

I think what there was of Ashley in ME3 was fine. It's hardly her character's fault that she didn't get enough exposure, and I partly head canon it as her having trouble reintegrating into the Normandy.

Yes, it would have been better if there was more Ash, but there was still enough there for her to be an awesome character. You can do whatever you want, but none of the other LIs have ever appealed to me the way Ash does. Edwin Shepard isn't going to go two whole games and then just give up on Ash becaus she seems a little distant.

As for the Ashley vs. Tali You tube video, Ash always did have a sharp tounge, so I don't think it's really all THAT out of character for her, especially given that she was probably feeling a little betrayed by someone she admitted herself was "like a sister" to her. Pretty irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, anyway, because I never screw around with the other LIs - meaning that Ash and Tali are always friendly with each other.

Right, I'm hardly even talking about Ashley now. The devs didn't give her enough time or do enough with her character imo to even give her a chance. She's basically a character that just causes conflicts now. You shouldn't have to head canon reasons for why one of your favorite characters isn't getting as much dialogue in as the others.

I don't know if you have already, but try playing ME2 and ME3 back to back with tali as your LI.  After you experience how much love tali got in both games and you remember how little of Ashley you saw you might start rethinking who the interesting characters are. That's basically what I just did. I wouldn't have noticed the difference if I hadn't done them almost back to back.
The ME1 ashley appealed to me more than the other characters as well. But that Ashley doesn't exist in the other 2 games is basically what i'm trying to say. You can't just headcannon that ashley in. Or I guess you can, but I think I've realized it's better to just move on and work with what bioware gives you.

Her joke was funny and sharp, but it doesn't change the fact that tali was basically welcoming her back to the Normandy and ashley turns around and starts a conflict.

After rereading that it reads like I'm trying to convert people. Again, that's not my intention, I'm just talking through things and trying to see different angles. I would love for someone to convince me ME3 ashley is the same. Or done better than the other LIs. ("better" isn't the right word maybe. I hate liara but I can still recognize that she's done better than Ashley)

Nope. Ash was well done in my opinion, her content level was above what Tali got (one conversation and the drunk scene), and the scenes that Ashley had were far and away of higher quality than Liara's. Her voice acting was better done, her romance scene was better written and better animated, plus her squad build was awesome. I like Tali, but she just cannot compare to the girl in blue :D

I actually thought the hospital scenes with Ash were fantastic, and the date was cute. There just sadly wasn't enough when she was on the ship. I would've liked to see her have some banter with the old squad and Joker. She seemed distant from the rest of the squad though other than when they're on missions, then she communicates fine with them.

I also note that Bioware stayed away from the ''racist'' topic with Ash, they do add more to say she isn't though. Like her commenting that ''Tali is like a little sister to me'' if you romanced Ash in ME1 and Tali in ME2.

I just wish Ashley had banter with everyone else. It breaks my heart that when she gets back on the ship she just stays in starboard observations the entire time until the love scene. Go talk to Garrus, Liara, Tali, Vega, hell I'd even want her in the WAR ROOM since she's a spectre. I'm also shocked she and Kaidan don't go to the Spectre offices. shocked.

Agreed. To me Liara will always be a good friend and I like Tali like a little sister, but Ash will always be my girl. I do however wish that there was some extra interaction between Ash and the rest of the ship, but other than that I liked what they did with her.

Yeah I did expect to find her in there atleast once. Mind you Tali had nothing also after the Geth/Quarian story arc. Not to mention the poor ME2 romances.

You know I thought about this when writing my letter to Bioware earlier. I chalk it up to her maturing and becoming an officer. I feel that also her experience with Shepard and the rest of the crew opened up her eyes to the world. I still think she would be untrusting of the Batarians and other races she has little experience with however.

I agree. Ashley actually has more romance time than Tali and Miranda, both of them only have around 15 min of romance time compared to Ash's 25 min - the only LI for male Shepard with more time is Liara (of course lol) who I think has over 30 min. What makes Ash's romance feel less complete than Tali's is even though Tali joins late once she is aboard it feels like there is a fairly constant flow of interaction with her since she has squad banter whereas with Ash is there is a ton of interaction followed by a whole lot of nothing until the final two romance scenes. Likewise, though Miranda is AWOL over much of the game I feel like interaction with her was spread in a consistent way across the game. To me that's the main thing missing from Ash's romance, more interaction with Shep and the crew.

Also, on tumblr there's some uh, very naked images of female Shepard and Kaidan from their romance scene, does that mean modders are finding ways to hack the VS romance scenes so they are not as PG?

While it was nice having Ash back, I really wish there had been more interaction with her. We don't really find much out about how she became a Lieutenant Commander or anything else besides the Memorial Wall scene with her sister. That and I really miss being called Skipper.
