Sorry to read than Complistic. Hope you find joy in the Talimancer fandom you couldn'd find with Ash anymore :crying:

It seems to me that the other characters have a writer that cares about them, and Ashley doesn't. It's not a fault of the character, but that's just how it happened to play out. The "added sex appeal" while in itself isn't so bad, is just evidence they didn't know what to do with her character so they glam'd her up. These two clips kind of made me realize how much they don't understand her character.

(she does have another death dialogue but she would never say this to any shepard, ever)
(this one again is just childish. Not Ashley like at all)

Depends. Must say the "see you in hell" line makes sense - if you betrayed Ashley. Not visiting her means she feels betrayed and if anyone or Shepard shots her since she can't get convinced, she'll feel betrayed for sure.

It's a bitter, dying Ashley here. Makes sense to me.

Not sure about that second vid. It doesn't make sense if Ash refers to Tali as a "little sister". B*tching around is not helping to support that idea.

However, I concur, Ashley's writer had no real idea what to do with her. He should have checked out our thread to get an idea. Nope ... instead of, we just got a romance which was well done but no content at all. ME3!Ashley - Romance = no character.

Ash worked fine in ME1 without her romance.

lmao, it dies out at times, not many people on here anymore :/

It is sad how this thread dies out and i apologize for our confrontation/animosity on the tali thread just wanted some perspective and thankfully I got it but however I wish this thread was as active as it was weeks ago. :(

And you really wonder why's that the case?
Take a look.

Half of the guys didn't return since they weren't even able to synchronize their games with BSN, therefore, they can't post here. You're not allowed to post in this forums without ME3 registered.

And the rest? Most of us are disappointed. Some are leaving (Complistic), others are digging themselves in. And Ashley's romance isn't good enough to attract new Ashleymancers. So yeah, we're a dying fandom.
If Aurora, Brainstorm and several others leave, this thread is dead.

RE Ash and Tali I think Ashley mostly ok with the idea but of course deep down she's not going to be 100% happy. I do agree that scene felt off though because she has said she approves so while I can imagine her being upset that the guy she was in love with chose her friend over her I can't imagine her being a **** about it. Contrast that with a dumped Tali being nice and wishing Ash 'nothing but happiness'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gydKUlQyoJs
Sadly I agree the new writer didn't know how to write Ash and way her original writer did.

Think BW simply should have asked Aurora for that stuff. Or YouthCultureForever. Those two definitely know what they do. I won't point at me - I'm not good, period.

That and I really miss being called Skipper.

Same here. I kept waiting for the chance to ask Ash why she doesn't call Shepard "skipper" anymore, but, alas, I never got the opportunity.

I thought her character was mostly well done, but that was an oversight.

Another day, another entry ...

Diary Entry #3
Shepard's Log #3101

Private Log, Entry #3102
Lieutenant Commander John Shepard

============================
Things start to make sense. I defeated the Reapers, some ancient machines reaping the galaxy every 50.000 years. And I did it thrice: first by foiling Saren's plans to prepare a Reaper invasion three years ago.
Then I got killed. I don't get how they brought me back, but I worked for Cerberus, some kind of terrorist or spec ops organization. Defeated the Collectors, a species based on the Protheans. To do so I had to recruit some of the most dangerous people alive. And somehow we made it.
And then - I foiled another invasion plan by the destruction of an entire star system.

It starts to make sense. Watched the recordings. And read more of those logs. And there's that woman again. Ashley Williams. She was more than a close friend. I can feel it. Whenever I see her name, I catch myself at smiling. Whenever I can see a glimpse of her in the mission records, I feel ... love. At least something of my old life remained true. I might have lost my memories, but my feelings are still there.

Just one question: where is she and why doesn't she visit me?

@ CptData - really love your diary entry, especially the last line.

+ Zoe Saldana as Ashley? I think she would be capable of properly portraying Ash's personality...

hi, i am new to BSN. Just want to say that i am happy to see that there are people who like ashley williams. i dont know why people hate her so much. Moments with ashley were the only thing that prevent me from tearing ME3 ending apart. Coming to this thread and reading all the fanfic/head canon kind of make me feel better. is there anything that i can do to contribute to this thread

Johnny_TYS38 you might still be able to write an Ashley Williams fan letter for some fan project going on here:
http://social.biowar...dex/11315889/23

Not sure if it closed now but any Ash support is welcome

Ok just found it is closed, oh well Ash was still well represented in the letters section

I'm on my way over here guys =)

Still playing FemShep nr 2 but the next one who goes through ME3 will have Ash. Looking forward to getting to know her better. Still have to finish the PT in ME2 so I have something to import. But at least I'm done with CC.

Amanda Shepard and her sister in arms Ash. Two latinas saving the galaxy.

Posted Image
Background. From Mindoir, Ash reminds her of the little sister she lost when the batarians came. That's why she couldn't leave her on Virmire even if Kaidan was higher ranking. Amanda has kept her hair in a strict bun since boot camp, see her teasing Ash about being the pretty girl with her hair down and so on. But in that friendly sisterly way, you know =)

Really looking forward to this PT. I'll come by and ask which missions that Ash really shines in, I know that she doesn't have much interaction with her friend FemShep on the ship so I'll just have to see more of her on missions =)

By participating you're contributing. :)

A simple mug like me with no artistic flair other than music doesn't have much else to offer so I just try and spark discussion and post a few screenshots here and there.

I would but I've never been taught composition other than what's required for music theory exams. I'd never do it justice. Leave that stuff up to the guys that know what they're doing. ;)

I'm an engineering technician, no professional writer. I still write stuff and some guys like it.

So you may be no "pro" - but you can become one, Hellfire. Get you lazy butt movin'!
That's an order of Commander Williams *g*

I should go.

Actually you can have <link removed>.

It's my WIP work-around for the end of I Was Lost Without You. Making do without strings isn't easy. I'm still making minor edits to it though, mainly to dynamics and directions. I'm also thinking about shifting a bit of it up an octave.

Probably worth pointing out that that's a digital recording and has no reverb. That is why it sounds empty.

Either Zoe Saldana or Erica Cerra could play Ashley well in the ME movie. Both are strong women and great actresses. My betting though it would probably go to Zoe Saldana.

Would love to add some FemShep/Ash sisterly banter later on when I'm playing   =)   so I'm hopefully get their voices right. Right now I've only got some scenes in my mind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FemShep in ME2 after first meeting the Council:
Sitting in the sofa up in her room, with a glass of wine in her hand, Amanda looks out on the empty space through the window in the roof. Really she should be angry, livid, at the Council for being so stubbornly useless. She got litte more than the title Spectre and airquotes handed to her, but still she is here with a little smile on ther lips. Ash is alive. Somewhere. Leaning back she recites to herself

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
Ans sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She's more of a fan of Emily Dickinson so she and Ash can discuss poetry in the shuttle and bore poor Vega to tears   =)    It's also the same poem that she will read to unconcious Ash when she lies wounded in the hospital on the Citadel in ME3. Here she got hope back, her "little sister" is alive, and back on Mars she almost lost it again. Think that the poem fits a paragon, a bird of hope.

That's gonna completely ruin my image of Ash and male Shepard as lovers, lol but it'd be a cool alternative

I could see that happening. Her role in James Cameron's Avatar proved that. Witty remarks and the love scene itself. Heck, now that I think of it, Avatar kind of summed up the romance arc of Ash.
-From the beginning up until after the love scene was ME1. (Getting to know Ash and romancing her in at the end)
-The destruction of the Tree of Voices up until after the destruction of the Hometree was ME2. (the low point of betrayal portraying Horizon)
-The taming of Toruk Makto up to the end was ME3. (Gaining trust back, uniting, words of comfort before the final battle)
