What we the Ash fans need to do is try to imagine our shepards and ash having a family down the road. And we also need to find a way to reunite shepard with ash on th edamn gilligans planet she is on. ASAP. They need to be together.
Not sure for family (actually, quite the contrary - sure), but one of my "kanone" Shepards reunited with Ash. Yes, in better of two worlds, but still...

- Who are you and what is your motivation?
We are fans of the Mass Effect franchise who were disappointed by the way the ending of Shepard's story was handled. We want to maximize the chances that fans will be satisfied by the Ending DLC. While many of us are Retake/HTL members, we do not claim to speak for the majority of either group.
- Retake has already won. What is the point of this?
While the production of a free Ending DLC is a step in the right direction, the announcement Bioware made was vague and could apply equally well to either a multi-hour playable extravaganza or a handful of epilogue slides stating things like: "ReaperGarrus lived for many happy days on Gilligan's planet before he finished consuming Tali's dead body and died of starvation." Our goal is to help Bioware get the funding it needs to produce the former.
- Why didn't you specify what a "satisfactory ending" is?
The fanbase is diverse and not everyone wants the same thing. (However, we suspect very few people will be moved to boycott Bioware if MORE CHOICES are provided.) Also, we trust that the company which made the Tuchanka missions is more than capable of pleasing the majority of fans if they internally peer-review their work. It is not our intent to demand specific plot points or outcomes. Bioware has over 600 pages of fan feedback and multiple polls to point them in the right direction.
- Why should I take part in Turn it On/Turn it Off?
If EA is presented with clear evidence that the quality of the Ending DLC will mean the difference between regaining supportive fans and driving away their customers, we believe they will finance a better product. It is imperative for people who can't currently bring themselves to replay the SP campaign to stand up and be counted instead of being written off as a "lost cause." Also, it's important that the "wait and see" crowd make their voices heard now while we still have time to effect positive change. Finally, it's free and easy to do.
- Why are you trying to destroy Bioware?
We're not. We want them to make an Ending DLC that is worthy of the rest of the game and then reap the rewards of their success. To that end, many of us will encourage our friends who haven't played Mass Effect 3 to download the demo (http://masseffect.com/about/demo/) during Phase 1. We are more than willing to bring new customers to the franchise if the ending is fixed properly.
THE MEDIA IS WATCHING!

My favorite parts of any fanfic are the ones that expand on the "downtime" in between missions, especially for ME1. So if you guys share that opinion maybe that would be the focus? To be honest I would prefer something to do with the realatioship in ME1 as it takes its shape, from the beginning. Maybe do something with the ME3 story, write about that while it's fresh in our minds?

In my headcanon, Ashley's favorite cereal is Wheaties! Interestingly enough, I thought it up during a convo about Kai Leng (and his odd habit of eating other peoples' cereal when they're not at home). I believe I said, "Leng ain't got crap on Ashley! She eats her Wheaties!" and the headcanon stuck ever since. LolInstance wrote...
So I think we may have moved away from the topic, but since I want to see others opinions on this:
In my little head Ash:
-almost always has something sarcastic to say, which she has gotten in trouble for in the past.
-has that tone of voice and atitude that suggests she is flirting but isn't really, its just part of her nature (unless talking with Shepard, when she means to flirt)
-obvioussly loves her family, and wants to have her own one day, with a good number of kids
-has some kind of vice that can be easily and playfully made fun of by Shepard (ie: coffe)
-has a large amount of survivors guilt, like with Eden Prime and Virmire, which makes her close with my Sole Survivior Shepard
-has an undeniable weakness for Shepards behind, and will almost die out of love when Shepard recites poetry
Also, both her and my Shepard are coffee drinkers!
I also share the headcanon scenario where Ashley likes my Shepard's butt and melts if he recites Tennyson or Whitman.
Heart, are you great enough
For a love that never tires?
O' heart, are you great enough for love?
I have heard of thorns and briers,
Over the meadow and stiles,
Over the world to the end of it
Flash for a million miles.
That one excerpt from Tennyson's "Marriage Morning" sums up how my Shepard feels about his love for Ashley!
I have a nice scene brewing in my mind where John asks Ashley if she will pray with him before the final assault on Earth. He says something like, "It's been so long... I'm not sure how good at it I would be."
I really need to write these down! Lol
Just now found this! Sorry, I was at work all day. LolDWH1982 wrote...
@Omega:
Did you have trouble getting your Shepard's cheeks to look right? Mine didn't import properly either, but I was fortunate enough to have the face code written down. Unfortunately, using the face unaltered gave him VERY puffy cheeks. He looked like he was storing nuts for the winter.
Thankfully, my Shepard transferred almost flawlessly and his cheekbones remained intact and not hideously large! Hahaha. From what I hear, people have the biggest problem with Femshep concerning importing. The only thing I could see that was "wrong" on my Shepard was his hair color. It was black and John's hair is dark brown. Also, his brow was way too low. Thankfully, I was able to fix all of this, while still keeping the appearance of my Shepard intact. I also changed the style of the eyes and made his eye color a darker green.
When I first bought ME3 (and importing wasn't an option, yet) I had no face code written down and I was unable to even see a face code (I built my Shepard in ME1). So, I tried rebuilding him from screenshots, but it just never looked right. Fortunately, the importing seemed to have worked out nicely! I have my Shepard back and I now have a face code for him!

But have my headcanon first:
Ashley
- tough soldier woman
- distrustful to anyone else unless they prove worthy Ashley's trust.
- deeply caring for her family and friends
- a crackshot with the AR, SR and SG and a quite good boxer
- good leader, XO in ME3 for me.
- caffeine addict
- loves ancient SciFi of 20th and 21st century
- reads and writes poetry
- ancestors in USA, Australia and Europe (Spain, Germany)
- a close friend to Tali
- deep respect for Garrus and Wrex
- cold start with Miranda, become friends
- professional, cool but friendly relationship with Liara
- is considered as friend by Anderson
- Christian / Catholic / weak believer
- 75% straight - however, she secretly has a "dream type of woman" she would die for
Shepard:
- paragon leader
- diplomat with a gun
- forced hero - "I never asked for all that sh*t."
- closest friend of Anderson
- Hackett is a relative of Shepard (most likely an uncle / great uncle)
- is well aware of Liara's affections but tries to keep it professional
- loves Ashley since day one
- a crackshot with the SR (Infiltrator)
- caffeine addicted
- started to write poems after meeting Ashley
- had at least two girlfriends before Ash
- does not hold a grudge against Batarians
- breaks down multiple times in ME2
- PTSD in ME3 / post ME3
- gets indoctrinated
- feels guilty for loving Ashley - he knows they both can't have a happy ending
- lots of other stuff ...
Yeah, that's it so far. I could write down more - in that group later.

My favorite point!
Like that anecdote, you know:
"To do list:
- Wash car.
- Meet put_lady_name_here.
- Buy tickets at final.
- Miscellanea.
Achtung! Some parts of text below contains sarcasm, acid, acrimony and vitriol.
I have one question. Big one. No 42 related, I promise. Since we like family and friends here and I told you how I value family and friends, I'd like to ask you. And here is the question: who dafuq is indoctrinated?
Let's see:
- Council. Doing nothing. Not even imposed martial law. Hello, there is a war over there, if you didn't noticed. Maximum I see - some minor military preparations by separate races.
- Citadel. Any signs of war, any form of preparations? Nah, just resort. Few talking "couples". Few. That place should buzzing like beehive and activity like in anthill. Who we have - Oraka, two traders and two civvies? That's not even facepalm, that's facetrench.
- Anderson. Why on Earth... Ahem! In both meaning, by the way. Why on Earth he abandoned his post Shepard place him on purpose right on the eve of war? He is "tired"? Oh, Earth partisans will need a leader, of course. As we all know there are three military figures on Alliance - Hackett, Anderson and Shepard. There is also Major "Trench "Tough" Coats" also known as Nigel Fish&Chips...
- Quarians. Why those dorks decided to attack right on brink of war, or even after war began (I doubt Shepard was able to escape Earth, save Victus, visit Sur'Kesh, cure Genophage and fight the coup in less than 17 days and IIRC he's being told quarians attacked Geth "17 days ago". They are so dumb****ingly stupid so they ignored all warnings and have no intelligence whatsoever to analyze Reapers' actions after they entered batarian space?
- Miranda, her father, her sister, and her possible LI. Wait, that sounds like some movie. Anyway. Okay, paraShep may cause some shifts in Miranda's personality, causing her to leave Cerberus (may I disbelieve it?). But reneShep, who done everything as Illusive man asked? Why Miranda left in this case? I see zero reasons. Even less reasons for Shepard to give himself to Alliance (who stole his helmet, sphere, medals, dog tags, didn't want to took care of fish, rip half of a ship apart).
- All "friendly" galaxy build something, no one has idea what or how it works, who created it and what it will do. Yet, everyone building it. Maybe it's blender (well, it is, in Green ending).
And now my favorite.
- Udina, traitor. Institutes draft (not martial law, but good enough) and cashing chips to help humanity. Has some plan, which I like more than crucible thing.
- Illusive man and Cerberus. Have goals, plan, resources, manpower, equipment, tactic. And what most important they have balls to follow plan to reach their goals, utilizing their resources. They not hesitate to use power, when needed, issue new equipment when needed, enforce mobilization/enlistment/draft/whatever (probably). What the hell is going on with Alliance?
Cerberus built Normandy SR2. Cerberus built AI and quite sophisticated mech. Cerberus created Atlas (any Alliance mechs? Nah, only those Aria lend us). Cerberus created smoke grenades (for the **** sake, WHY I DON'T HAVE THEM?!). Cerberus created swords capable of one-hit kill. Why I need that omni-blade if I can't kill anything with it? To slice bread and kielbasa? Cerberus created effective barriers and shields (why Vega can't pick up one?). Not to mention such small and primitive tasks like studying Geth, hovertank (apparently), and Reapers' signal jammer.
More than that - they were able to hack prothean VI somehow (why that VI didn't informed Asari about Reapers? Or it did, but Asari decided to shake their asses?). Why Cerberus utilize dozens, if not hundreds of man, while Shepard use 1+2? Why. Why. Why.
How fighting Cerberus will help fighting the Reapers? I mean, fighter base on Noveria? Shepard +2 dealt with several dozens of Cerberus troops plus Atlas, but Alliance was unable? How strong Alliance soldier, really? And how N7 is strong, because if not for Shepard's team-mate, Reiley's team would be destroyed, isn't?
Where is scorched earth strategy - lose system? Nuke relay and wipe Reapers inside.
Speaking of nukes. Why not? Council regulation? For god's sake - nobody gives a **** about Geneva convention now, no one already gave them sixty years ago but no, in future, in face of our total annihilation we will fear use nukes because council who don't give a **** about us on first place... Really? Okay, maybe not in space (though MIRV could be useful), but when Reapers already landed. IIRC Codex, they are far less agile and far more vulnerable. Why not nuke them?
Where are mines? Not those used to mine coal and ore, another mines. Drifting, proximity - those. Several pieces of them on Rannock and Geth dreadnought? that's all? According to ingame videos, ships has to be quite close, so, why not lay hidden "camouflaged" mines? Or land-mines against Reaper forces. Since they don't care about fear - let's utilize another feature of mines - destruction.
Planetary defense cannons anyone?
IIRC Pallin told us C-Sec roster includes 200K officers. Even if they were decimated and never achieved previous numbers, it still should be significant manpower. How Cerberus was able to "sneak several divisions" (really, that is anecdote) without notice?
Well, I can do this all day, obviously.
What it has to do with Ash? With that amount of ****s given to "deep universe development" world, I see zero reasons for character improvement.

Hell, why didn't you ask for the Thanix Cannon? After all, if some random engineers on the Normandy can bodge such gun, why wasn't the Alliance Engineering Corps (AEC) able to refit all cruisers, frigates and fighters with Thanix Cannons?
Meh.
Ashley is facepalming. All she wanted was a personal Thanix Sniper Rifle. ^^

Well - whenever someone brings that one up, I use the "standards talk".
For today standards, Ashley is a weak believer - or at least someone with a very liberal interpretation of the religion.
Chances are VERY high Ash is a Christian / Catholic.
Now, the Catholic girls I know (and I do know some) are usually less open-minded, not even in good ol' Germany. For example "sex" is a topic they usually hate to touch.
Ashley on the other hands leaves no doubts on her sexuality. She's confident about her body and skills and a not-so-closed pervert as well.
Also she doesn't mind Shepard's religious PoV - if there's any. It's quite common for weak believers do not mind the other one's PoV at all - my GF for example is a Protestant while I am an atheist.
Strong believers are less open minded here.
Ashley might be a strong believer in her time, true. But for today standards, she's too open minded, not conservative enough etc. And that's why I love her. She's not too strict but still has something to believe in.

Human sexuality is also something that gets talked about quite frequently in the faith, but maybe that's just Australia. But lets not turn this into a debate on theology. Suffice to say, there's belief in God and belief in Divine Revelation. While I'd say Ash has a liberal understanding of Revelation, she definitely has a strong belief in God.

I'd disagree, again. Your 'standards' of today are correct only in that Ash is a bit more sexually open, which in itself is quite common in some variations of Christianity. Other than that, I'm a strictly conservative Catholic and I pal around quite often with atheists (my best American friend being one).
Oh, that works well. However, can you imagine a living (and long lasting) relationship with someone of another religion / no religion at all?
That's the big issue here. Ashley never really asks for Shepard's religion. Basically, Shepard has the religion of the player. Although I let my Shep tell Ash he also believes in something doesn't mean he's a Christian. I -do- believe in something. It's just not the Creator God of the monotheistic religions.
Now, I know several people - including my sister, she's a converted Jehovah's Witness - who can't even think of "being in a relationship with someone that doesn't share my belief". That's what I call "strict / conservative religious". Ash doesn't feel like that, even if she's doing daily prayers.
Don't know about you, won't go into any more details here since it's a quite touchy topic

She just doesn't follow strictly her religion - or her religion got reformed at some point. That's why I say "today standards" - for today standard's she's not a very strong follower of her religion. Who knows about Christianity in the 22nd century?
The worst aspect in that matter is the strong influence of most religions when it comes to sex life. I'm glad that part got killed in ME timeline.
Sex is one of the most powerful drives of mankind AND defines our species almost as much as it does for the Asari. Think that tells a lot.
