Whoever asked about the S1 designation, it is something to do with her specialisation. I remember reading about it being something planetary/orbital assault related. I believe it was likened to the USMC's Force Recon. Not exactly SOF, but "elite" nonetheless.

S1 is her specialisation as a ground assault rated soldier - think it was mentioned in a bioware blog/alliance news thing that mentioned all the vocation codes... I even used it in one of my stories.

In my headcanon, Ashley is primarily Methodist in her beliefs. Though I don't want to get into the "sex-before-marriage" debate, I will say (coming from a Christian background) that our relationship with God is a continuous walk. Ideally, you're never just in one place at any given time, and if you are, you need to examine what's holding you back. Just because Ash had pre-marital sex, it doesn't mean she is a weak believer. It just means she's more liberal in that one practice. She probably got very liberal in that aspect because, for all she knew, her and the man she loved could be dead the next day.

Anyway, my Shepard was raised Non-Denominational Christian (and he'll explain this to Ash in the events of ME1), so that makes him open to the other branches, removing conflict with Ashley's beliefs. In a nutshell, he believes, but he's just rusty in the practices.

@Omega:
Maybe we should get the conclusion Ashley's faith is something that's headcanon-stuff. My Ash is a weak beliver of the catholic branch of Christianity ... does that work :whistle:

Diary Entry #4
Shepard's log #3102

Private Log, Entry #3103
Lieutenant Commander John Shepard

============================
My memories slowy return. I think I start to remember everything - the fights, the emotions, the feeling of victory and defeat. Those feelings help me to remember my life - and it's an unique on. The "ordinary grunt" I once was became a legend.

It's overwhelming. All those emotions, condensed into just moment - I only can imagine what I felt when all that stuff happened. Thrilled ... horrified ... shocked ... and still able to move on. Thanks to one feeling that was always there and never left. The love for this woman. I loved Ashley - and I want to love her again.
Admiral Hackett told me the Normandy is lost. Jumped right through the Charon Relay before it got destroyed. No one knows why Joker set that course - it doesn't matter anymore. The only thing that matters now is to get her back ...

I'm Commander Shepard, First Human Spectre and Hero of the Citadel, Legend of our days.
And I have a mission ...

Yes it does, actually! Not being very active in the practices of the Catholic church, but still holding its central beliefs isn't unheard of, even in this society! ;)

We should get that group together and start brainstorming a sort of "centralized" story-canon if we're all gonna throw our fictions into the hat!

:)

Definitely. We're losing to many members to other fandoms currently ... and that's saddening ...

Ash. My love. Even if you refuse to return those feelings, I won't give you up ...

Hope you guys are ready for the VS ME2 DLC I have for Guns and Poems. Fitting that Ashley should be there to rescue Shepard during arrival right?

Actually I'm seeing alot of new names in here, yeah some have moved on to other Li's, but there are still alot of Ash fans, and even the ones that do move on still like the character. And some of the fans (like me) are just very busy and find less time for BSN that we used to have. I'm sure Badpie is also still around now and then.

The problem is that everyone's experience and everyone's Shepard is unique to them. Condensing without conflicts of opinion is going to be difficult.

I don't see it as that. Take me for example. I'm a huge fan of Miranda but her thread moves so fast I don't post because I'd just get lost in the shuffle. I'm alsoa  fan of Jacob but there's only so many times I can complain about him ditching femshep for brynne and he's got no romance content to speak of in ME3. It all depends on where a person feels welcome the most which is why the OP of this thread says anyone is welcome to come in and talk Ashley.Posted Image

*rubs back of neck*

Actually, Saren killed himself in my headcanon... and, more recently, so did TIM. :P

To an extent, yes, but I was referring more to their moral stances, beliefs and general character. The same things can be said of Ashley.

Paragon vs. Renegade vs. Paragade for example, and everything each of those implies.

The plot is fairly simple. Characters are not.

Well yes this project would be a huge undertaking I think...Depending on how many people want to work on it ofcourse..One thing I'd like to ask: How to approach the content we've already got from Bioware? Do we put it in as the writers made it, do you actually want to change it  or add to it?

I think the best solution would be a middle ground Shepard, that way most people can at least relate with him to some extent.

@Mr. Brainheart

A Shepard who is neutral on everything would be kind of boring

I'm 75-80% paragon to 20-25% renegade depending on the day of the week. I'm guessing that that is pretty normal?

I'm not sure you can resize them with tags on here so I'd suggest resizing the image itself. If you need any help don't hesitate to ask. :)

I didn't mean to suggest neutral, I mean a Shepard that, depending on the situation, will be  paragon or renegade. So we'd need a character for him that is pragmatic about some things and let's say optimistic about other things.
