In ME1, Ash carried a shotgun, and in ME3, she has an assault rifle and a sniper rifle.

Does anyone ever speculate on why she became more oriented around a sniper rifle? For me, it actually fits perfectly with head canon - at the start of ME1, Ash was very oriented around "up close" combat, because of her hand-to-hand training. She used her shotgun quite a bit. Edwin Shepard was a fan of picking off enemies from a distance, however, and pushed both Ash and Garrus to develop their sniper skills.

The way I see it, ME3 is the culmination of those efforts: Ash took Shepard's advice, and has now become more of a skilled sniper, versus the "up close" specialty of someone like James.

Ashley was always using a shotgun in ME1, I have to get use to the fact that Ashley doesn't have one in ME3.

She have sniper rifle because she can shoot between eyes from 100 meters.

Personally, I see it as Bioware forgetting their own lore. Ash and her boomstick has always been a packaged deal. Either that, or they didn't want her stealing Vega's thunder.

Regardless, it's an annoying mistake.

But I try to headcanon an explanation. She's using a sniper rifle in order to grow closer to my Shepard, who is an Infiltrator and fond of long-range weapons.

Ashley: ok
*both of them took the lift to crew quarter*
Shepard: james, any food left ?
James: hey loco, oh commander williams *salute*
Ashley: relax, james, just call me ashley will do 
James: ok ashley. i was starting to worry that loco was not coming  .
*james prepare food*
James: here you go, enjoy your dinner.
*both of them find a place to sit*
Kenneth: gabby, is that commander shepard and commander william ?
Gabby: oh,didn't know she was assign back to normandy. wow, two human spectres on the same ship
Kenneth: isnt it unusual for comander shepard to be here, i mean he is usually on the CIC or in his own cabin.
Gabby: seriously kenneth, you didn't know that both of them are together ?
Kenneth: oh no, during the normandy's upgrade period,  i accidently throw away the picure of commander william that was in the commander's cabin
Gabby: what ? why would you do that ?
Kenneth: i think it was damaged during the assult on the collector base, so i thought the commander might not need it anymore.
Gabby: oh kenneth you are so going to get it.
*after finish eating dinner, going back to Captain's Cabin*
Shepard: there is somehing i wanted to show you.
Ashley: what is it ?
Shepard: a picure of you.
*both of them went into the  Captain's Cabin*
Shepard: i remeber putting it somewhere around here
Ashley: isit really that important ?
Shepard: it was the only thing that kept me going back when i was with cerberus. i hate every single moment, i wanted to betray the illusive man and go back to ailliance, together with you but the collector were too dangerous to be left alone.
Ashley: i should have went with you to fight against the collector  instead of being so selfish and leaving you back on horizon.
Shepard: you are an ailliance solider, there is no way you would have work with cerbrus, even if it was for a good cause.
Ashley: skipper, after i have treated you so harsh, you would still forgive me?
Shepard: i was never angry at you, ash, all i did was giving you time 
*Ashley hugged and kissed shepard*
Ashley: thank you for being so understanding, skipper.
Shepard: so you want stay here tonight, ash?
Ashley: but about the crew, skipper ?  wont they-
*Shepard pull Ashley onto the bed*

Yea it was very good well done, I agree Gangsta wish there was more Ash and Shepard moments especially if you remained faithful in ME2 so you could continue into your romance immediatly instead of having to wait till near the ned of the game. But thats where all the guys who put up their fanfic and head cannons come in and do a great job.

While I'm a fan of Liara primarily, I just wanted to chime in and say that I've always liked Ash. Moreso in ME1. What can I say? I like the butch, tough as nails, poetry reciting, family loving types.

She even got me reading poetry. Curse you, Tennyson!

When I was first playing through ME1, I found myself saying, "Dang it, Ash, stop being so multidimensional so it makes it easier to dislike you!" and imagine my disappointment with her lack of involvement in ME2 and her less than flattering changes for ME3.

Still, I'm hoping that they'll give Ash some much needed development, since it seems she spent the majority of the game recovering from Eva Core.

There's nothing more satisfying than blowing someone's face off from long ranges when there's nothing they can do about it. When you hit the target and just the right time especially during a quick scope, it's satisfying as hell.

So i played some SP today for this...thing they are appealing for fans to do but man it got me really in the mood to play it again (can't cause of uni work) I had saved just before Cerberus so i went back and did the Ash romance scene...it was great

I hate it that Bioware killed Charr off. That guy was a god among Krogan. I wonder how he would've gotten on with Ash. Maybe she could've offered some advice!

So I was happily playing through ME2 with a FemShep run and something dawned on me. I didn't like it at all.

Ash and Charr? I like the thought of them meeting each other. Both tough-as-nails soldiers but also both have a tender side, if similarity is anything to go by, they could get along fine.
