You can be a fan of Ashley and still save Kaidan. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having playthroughs for both of them. anyone who tells you different is liar or a Jerk.KingNothing125 wrote...
As much as I enjoy the hangover scene, and ordering Joker to sing to Ash over the comm, I can't help but wish it was scrapped entirely for something different.
I just recently finished a playthrough where Kaidan was the VS (I swear it only happens once or twice out of all my playthroughs), and he has a conversation where you talk frankly about Cerberus and the Illusive Man, and how he feels about the whole situation.
After it was over, I was like "goddamn, I wish Ashley would talk to me like this."
I get sadface when I think about Ashley's treatment when she steps back aboard the Normandy.
Anyway yeah Kaidan's conversation about it and the shades of grey is much better than the three or four autodialogue lines Ashley gets where she's pretty much going "yeah F*ck cerberus!"

And for combat reasons she comes with a quite obsolete class: Garrus is a capable sniper and Vega is a better tank.
Hmm, Ash with Revenant X has been totally awesome for me in my current game.

Just saying it. Ash runs pretty much in the same issue like several characters in ME2 - some of them felt redundant.
Kaidan seems to be much more capable than Ash. He's a quite powerful biotic (in fact: he is THE biotic in your ME3 squad - if you have him, for what do you need Liara?) and is also a good fighter.
As much as I like Ash - on and off the battlefield - her fighting performance is not THAT special she can't be replaced. In fact: Garrus is a very capable sniper - but he's not as tough as Ash. And Vega is a better grunt for tanking. She can take a hit or two and is very useful in combat, but as I said, she can be replaced by either Garrus or Vega, depending on your style. Kaidan can't be replaced by Liara.

Ash+Revenant X = awesome covering fire
Ash+Widow+Marksman = Awesome head shots

Ugh, agreed. My favorite part especially was on Mars when Liara asks how Shepard keeps fighting and he says, "I just remember what I could lose if we fail," and he's looking straight at Ash. Also, the part where Ashley gets hurt and it's obvious by Shepard's emotions that she's in the front of his mind. The hospital scene had some great moments, too.CptData wrote...
Meh. First half of the game was good with Ash (too bad, she wasn't on board), second half was meh ...
And yeah, I wish the drunken scene would have come in two versions: neutral and lovers. And lovers get the option to pick her up and carry her to bed in Shepard's cabin ^^
I couldn't wait to get Ash back on the Normandy. I was upset that I couldn't bring her in the Tuchanka arc, but take what you can, I guess. I finally get her back, I literally ran to Starboard Observation, just to hear her say, "Good to see you!" in ambient dialogue... and nearly every conversation with her afterwards was in Zaeed/Kasumi-style ambient dialogue...
...
...
...

Until I finally got the date with her on the Citadel, I felt like I had been friend-zoned. Was hoping for more in-depth conversations with her after we restarted out relationship, but nope... not until the romance scene (which was done beautifully, I might add) and the farewell (which is one of the more emotional of the scenes for me. That "I don't want you to go. I love you, Shepard." gets me every time).
I hope that rumored "Romance DLC" happens and it will add more scenes with Ash. What we got was just lazy. Even her "are you okay, Shepard?" after Thessia was in ambient dialogue! I was hoping to have a conversation with her about Kaidan, but that never came... come on, Bioware!
Also, I like the paragon interrupt idea during the Hangover scene!
Ashley: Mmm, cold floor...
Shepard: Come on, Chief ("Chief" is the nickname my Shepard gives her), let's get you somewhere nicer.
Ashley: Ugh, no sir... floor...
Shepard: Come on. (Lifts Ashley into his arms.)
Ashley: Nooo... too much moving...
(Shepard and Ash exit out of the Starboard Observation room. The scene changes to Ashley lying on Shepard's bed. Shepard is pulling her boots off.)
Shepard: There you are, Chief. Feeling better?
Ashley: Mmm, soft bed...
Shepard: As you were, Williams.

I have to say CptData personally I found Ash often to be a BIG help in the game. When I brought her and Garrus with me on the last mission (was a bit of a strange choice but still) I found I didn't have to worry about Ash dying as much as Garrus and often when I was using first aid it was to get Garrus back on his feet, Ashley actually saved my ass from a banshee in one level cause I had run out of ammo. I know you're not saying she is no good I'm just saying I found her to often be a very helpful and useful squadmember and actually was my best squadmate at times
I never really found Liara, Tali or EDI very helpful, maybe it's cause I liked having firepower but just thought they never really were worth bringing.

And what do you think, question for all, Ashley is a paragon or renegade? Or both? I see that she is a paragon but she approves some renegade options. So what do you think about this?

I think she's a Renegon in ME1, though it can change at the end, she's quite pragmatic when it comes to military decisions. Kill the Rachni queen, stand by with a gun faced at Wrex might it go wrong at Virmire, and that's of course all part of her distrust (of Aliens, and the bear/dog analogy), which shows a view more fitting of a renegade than a paragon. Rather be prepared for the worst and make sure nothing can surprise you, than take a risk in the hopes of getting a more positive outcome.Ushanka wrote...

She isn't entirely renegade though, I think the fact that she's easily convinced by reasoning that a more optimistic view isn't too bad either and consequently her suggesting to save the council shows that the best.
