The ending just pisses me off. Honestly, it feels like they threw away all the stuff I worked for. What's the point of curing the genophage, or sovling the geth/quarian war, when all of galactic civilization is about to be dumped into a dark age anyway? What's the point of getting back together with Ash when Shepard just dies? What's the point of them getting together in ME1, even? It just causes pain for Ash. TWICE.

Anyway, I guess this is just rehashing feelings I've expressed many times now.

ThIs is another reason why i hate the ending beside the god child/star child. What is the point of making such an emotional scene with ash before the final run and end up getting myself killed again ?

Let's say the ending of ME3 showed that Shepard, Ashley and everyone else survived. Assume that Shepard and Ashley continued their relationship and eventually got married.

Now my (admittedly weird) questions are:

1. Would Ashley want children? She's a professional soldier and just recently made it to Lieutenant Commander and became a Spectre.  Having kids would undoubtedly make her life far more complicated and could compromise her position as both an Alliance LCDR and Council Spectre.

2. Do you see Ashley as being the mother of boys, girls or both? For some reason, I can imagine her with a couple of very rowdy -- and potentially biotic -- boys. That's not to say I can't see her being the parent of a girl, but maybe it's just funnier (to me anyway) to have her dealing with boys.

3. What sort of mother do you think Ashley would be? In other words, would she be permissive, strict, overbearing or something else entirely?

4. Do you think Ashley would be a difficult mother-in-law? Again, I imagine this scenario playing out more interestingly if she had boys.

BTW, I'm not considering Shepard's opinion here because we play him and our thoughts are essentially his.

Yes, I can definitely see Ashley as being a good mother. Definitely the type best suited for raising boys, but I'm sure she'd like a girl just so she could corrupt her into a tomboy. Lol

After the Reaper war, I think Ash would be perfectly fine with retirement...

Also, I can see her as a protective mama bear! Nobody fraks with her kids.

Edit: In my /headcanon, Ash is fine with wanting kids. Hard to say what the actual canon Ash would want, but someone brought up the good point that she helped to raise her sisters, so that could soften her up to the whole childrearing thing.

Definitely yes.
She might not go after a family right after the end of the war, but it's on her priority list quite next to "rebuild the galaxy". Maybe when she hits her middle thirties or early fourties she might settle down and found a family with Shepard. In that case, she might give up her job as Spectre but not as soldier of the Alliance - in that case, she might become an instructor for Special Units or something.

2. Do you see Ashley as being the mother of boys, girls or both? For some reason, I can imagine her with a couple of very rowdy -- and potentially biotic -- boys. That's not to say I can't see her being the parent of a girl, but maybe it's just funnier (to me anyway) to have her dealing with boys.

Both. In case she and Shepard have only two kids, the first born will be a girl, and the other kid is a boy. In case she's going to have more than two children, only one of them is a boy.
None of those kids is biotic (except your Shepard is a biotic).

Loving, a tad permissive but also quite "mama-bearish". She cares deeply for her family and has lots of love to spend for those. I think she's going to be a perfect mom.

Nope. Ash is a family woman. She might accept the right girl for her boy but also dislikes the WRONG partners for her children. Let's put it this way: never p*ss off Ashley. If you obey that simple rule, Ash is the best mother-in-law you can get (and the sexiest too).

Yeah, I see her as someone who does, albeit not right away.

Immediately after the war, Ash and Shepard will want to spend extended time alone together. After that, Ash, at least, would continue with military/Spectre service for at least a decade. After that, I could totally see her wanting to have kids, and that would very possibly involve settling down with Shepard somewhere.

I think she'd be a great mother for a boy or a girl.

Interestingly enough, the way I always see it playing out - when they decide they want to have kids, Shep and Ash decide to just let "nature take its course," so to speak. So they end up with whichever gender they happen to get.

I don't think she'd be overly strict, but I do think that Ash would end up being the "bad guy" who has to do most of the punishing, versus Edwin Shepard (my Shepard, who's waay paragon) who would be inclined to let the kids get away with anything. I actually think this would be a point of friction between the two - it's something they'd eventually have to work out.

Other Shepards would undoubtedly have a different dynamic in this area. I'd hate to see certain kinds of renegades raising kids, and almost think that Ash would be concerned with them being too strict with the kids.

If you're right for her kids, then no. If not... I could see her being quite cutting with some of her comments, at least.

One of her boys coming back from college with someone like Jack, for example - I think there'd at least be some outright snarkiness on Ash's part.

the female shepard and ashley romance does not work when imported from a gibbed save from ME2. I looked up the "date" scene for ME3 on youtube and ash says something like "so are we going somewhere?" and shepard says something like, "I can't see myself with anyone but you" and then they pull each other close...

yeeeeeah, I just did the "date" scene with my female shepard and ash and I didn't get that part. Man, if I have just wasted a whole other playthrough and don't get the ash romance... I'm gonna be so pissed!!!

I think Ashley would be a great mum, sure she basically raised her sisters and I think she'd be the shoulder to cry on between her and my Shepard. But as DWh1982 said if a son brought back some weirdo then she might have something to say

Yea that seems to be one of the main down points of the game, I think we'd all of loved some more dialogue and chats instead of characters going into Zaeed mode and giving us one liners or no choice in the discussion. Who knows maybe the DLC will help with that or a possible future LI DLC but personally I don't see that happening, so just sit back, relax and read what people like dahellraider, CptData and others write cause it's the best your gonna get and to be honest it's better than what Bioware would come up with

This dialogs that you all creating here give me so much good emotions, and I'm not angry at BioWare. But I would like to see more new content in future DLC. =)
