Rudy, life as a military is not easy, but who will protect the Motherland? Yes, we need this people, who really doing they're jobs good. Let's say that in my country not many of them good, Generals comand to soldiers to build a villa or serve as workers to them, and it looks already usual. Private soldiers work much harder than any of this high ranked officers. But it's only in my country. (: I respect officers too, but only if they doing they're duty good.

If country do not want to feed her army - she will feed someone else's army. Sounds familiar?

Problem with Military - it is very easy to destroy, but very hard to reconstruct. It took around 2-3 years to grow up proper soldier, just private and about a decade to grow up proper company commander. To create unit cohesion inside that unit - you need around two more years, if they will work together.

And when I speak about company commander - officer, I think of Wehrmacht. I think their system of officers' training was and still is best. Candidate begin his service as private in combat regiment and then served year there. If at the end of this term he served well and got positive report from his commander, candidate received rank Fahnenjunker (equivalent to gefreiter) and after 2-6 months of theoretical studies, being sent to another combat unit where served 4-6 months on gefreiter's post and there he should have temporarly access to section command, to evaluate his abilities to command section. If he wasn't successful, he remained in that unut as gefreiter. If he was successful, then again, he returned to his "school" and after same 2-6 months of "theory" he was sent to third unit as section commander with rank of Fanenjunkerunteroffizier. There he should have temporarly access to post of platoon commander and Kompaniefeldwebel. If he failed, he remained in that unit as unteroffizier, if he succeded, then he returned to his "school" and after another session of theory, with rank of Fähnrich, he was sent to fourth unit to serve as platoon commander. After serving required period he returned to his "School" to pass exams, after which he received rank of Oberfähnrich and was sent to his future "permanent" unit, where he served until he received his Leutnant rank. Generally it took more than 3 years to walk this path, even during war. This helped to sort out unworthy candidates and prevented getting promoted by "protection".
That approach I respect - officers pass through every step from privates, know their life, their craft - because they were there, and every next step required about 4-6 months of "theoretical" and then practical training and learning.
And that's why I was fine with Ash career path until ME3. From Operations Chief to LtCdr in less then 6 months? Sorry, will never believe, will never accept, even if it doesn't matter in game. Because it matters. Devil in details, or what's that saying. There is no "unimportant" parts - you made one part unimportant, then another, then one more - and voila, ME3 Ash and many more.

I hope Shepard will see Ashley again. (:

Seeing how they treat her, I... Well, I can't say I'm glad, but I'm somewhat in peace with my decision to leave Ash on Virmire.

Top 3 moment of the Ashley romance (even though, you know, she was on death's doorstep lol).

Just realized after thinking about squad mate missions, Ashley/Kaidan are the only ones who have missed out. Pretty bummed about it.

Considering Mass Effect was the last game in the trilogy they really should support it with a ton of DLC. Take the time and give each LI its own little DLC which adds extra cutscenes and make a mission or two. I don't know, something along those lines.

I honestly do not care one bit about MP. Its not why I bought ME3(and I;m sure 99% of the people who bought ME3 bought it for SP) so I don't care about DLC for it. Unless its free and even then I barely would use it. I need more Ash content :(

I'm hoping ME3 has more SP DLC than ME2 did. I know there's a ton of stuff I would add if I was in charge.

More content for LI's is one of them. There's vast stretches of the game where members of the squad don't say anything, auto-dialogue or no. There's enough room in there for every LI to have at LEAST one more scene.

I feel like Ash/Kaiden are the two squadmate LIs that get screwed over the most.

While I love the hospital scenes with Ash(extremely well done and touching) she is in there for half the game and then when she gets back on the Normandy she doesn't move around the ship and talk to anyone. I feel like this is completely against her character, and I would like to think that she would be a lot more social with everyone.

I barely play multiplayer, my mates hop on my Xbox to play it because I hate multiplayer, find it boring. They don't find it boring. I've tried but I hate the fact I have no weapons I like. My brother has only just started playing mass effect, I got him started on mass effect 2. He doesn't understand the shooting system in the first one. I find it incredibly easy, doesn't matter anyway. Will always consider mass effect 1 as my favorite game because it has the most Ashley content.

She moves once, and just about five steps down from her spot. Which I find kind of annoying. Sucks she doesn't have more conversations, I believe Ashley had quite a bit of content cut from her and a status on twitter said they didn't use skipper because they didn't want to overkill but I preferred they overkill it then not use at all really.

I would have loved her to call Shepard skipper. It is what makes the romance even better. Makes it more intimate IMO.

Yes, more Skipper is essential. I thought it was great when she said it during the Cerberus coup standoff... but then she stopped saying it after that, like wtf! Not even during the goodbye! "Aye Aye Captain" whaaa? Surely, BioWare, you meant "Aye Aye SKIPPER!"

While BioWare did a really good job on many parts of the Ash romance(Hospital scenes, romance scene and the goodbye scene) they fell short in some aspects also. Like the fact that she doesn't interactive with any of the crew. It makes me feel like my Shepard's gf is anti-social which I feel isn't Ash at all. Also, if you keep Ash out of half the game you need to make each interaction with her 10 times better.

The scenes were good but it needed to be more. While I did like the scene on Horizon in ME2 us Ash fans(and Kaiden fans) got screwed over big time. We see her once and while the scene makes the relationship with her seem that much more like a RL relationship it still sucked.

Hopefully BioWare listens to fans and gives them the LI content they want.

More Ashley content would be awesome, since both her and Kaidan lack closure. I did enjoy the romance but I felt like it was a bit empty towards the end.

Well, thanks for the feedback so far.

@ Rudy Lis: I wouldn't go for positive points @ Wehrmacht stuff. It's still a touchy chapter in my ppl history. Not sure if it was that efficient - and at some point (especially in late war) it was quite inefficient since the higher ranks had to be filled with inexperienced soldiers
Think today armies in the western world are quite efficient - but far too expensive. It doesn't matter if you spend full five years for education - or just five months. A single bullet still can kill the "Soldier of the 21st Century" - but to get one you need more time and far more money. So our modern soldiers are simply not the best choice for extended campaigns where manpower is more needed than specialization.

Back to Ashley.

Wonder where to go next with the Diary. Drama is set up, dangers as well - now what should I do ..?

@CptData

you could always make her pregnant, but it maybe a bet late or right on time. there are basically an infinite amount of things you can do. the choice is yours

Dunno - most likely not. I dislike extra drama through pregnancy

But think I'll add some extra drama - like Vega falling for Ash *g*
Or maybe Adams? Who knows :D

I c, so you're not going to torture us by them never being reunited, your going to torture us by shepard remembering everything (possibly) than he finds Ashley, and she moved on. I don't know which one is worse haha.

If CptData makes me cry, than i might have write my fanfic more than usual to have my semi happy ending sooner rather than later lol
