It's not only about tomboy marine, she's officer now, she should look like one, not like... Well, I'm out of analogies here. That shine on skin remind me old anecdote:
- Why your napkins so greasy?
- Don't wipe your face with pancakes!

And skirt - "Miranda Lawson? I wear armor in battle". Yeah, sure. Image IPB
For me ME3 Ash is perfect example how make-up can make you look worse.

You have a different view from me so I respect that but I honestly don't think you can say she looks worse in ME3, they didn't over do Ash like they did Miranda. Ash still looks great if not even better in my opinion and as already said I don't think it's against her character to want to look nice and let her hair down every now and then, but then again that's what it boils down too, peoples personal opinions so we're not all gonna agree and that's cool.

But yea for combat...hair probably best in a bun like ME1 when it's not gonna get in the wayImage IPB

I care. And I entitled to this opinion.Image IPB

She is a female she can decide to wear make up its not "out of character"; and please for the love of god stop with Miranda comparison.

Where I compare her with Miranda? Wipe your goggles, she said it herself, not me.

Why so hostile?

When you say get over it, you make it sound like this is some heated argument that had huge importance. This is a forum topic where we discuss characters. I'm 99% sure that the characters apperance has something to do with the character.

Also I believe that the Miranda - ME3 Ash comparison is more than valid. Mirandas apperance in ME2 with her "swinwear" makes sense, she is the "perfect human" so ofc she will be designed to be attractive. So when Ash is altered to look more attractive, normally I would have no problem with it, but she was changed in such a way that I believe alters her character aswell. In ME1 Ash was a Soldier that wore normal armor and the same off-duty outfit as the rest of the crew, which I thought was cool. So when in ME3 she has this blue, model-ey, showoff-ey skirt look... I just think that it is out of character.

We are all entiled to our opinions.

And actually the Miranda Ash comparison was brought up by our favorite BioWare writers themselves. That just makes the comparison more valid.

You're right everyone is entitled to their own opinion it's what makes these threads so interesting and readable. I love hearing everyones different views on characters from my own, if we were all the same it'd be very boring (like the asariImage IPB)

Asari aren't same. Although similar models like speculations - everywhere.Image IPB

I respect your opinion as well, but I honestly think I can say she looks worse (especially with direct comparison with that pic you have above). Texture resolution isn't everything, if textures' resolution has changed between games.
One of my complains with ME3, really - most, of not all characters looks worse or unnatural, beginning from strange texture or some "technology rehash" (displacement, bump, etc) and ending with animation, as well as body and facial ones. Joker, one of most lively characters, now behave like robot. Anderson looks like you looking on his face through fogged up goggles, Michel, Chakwas, Chambers - look quite different and in not good way. If it wasn't for "Kelly Chambers" above latter, I doubt I'd recognize her, even knowing she's one and only red-hair in whole Galaxy.
Not sure what to say about Miranda, she's suffered that ME2>ME3 transition as well. If you meant her suit, well, no argument here, I don't like it, neither Jack "suits", both of them. I already stated my opinion on good look and that thin border line between being attractive and vulgar, so I won't repeat it.

Regarding different look here now and then - well, they didn't give her two different looks - on-duty and off-duty, so this one is out of place. Plus, she's only one Alliance personnel who doesn't wear standard uniform. Just two coppers more.Image IPB

On that we can agree.

I didn't have a problem with the way any of the characters in ME3 looked. I still think Ash looked good.

The only problem I had was with how my Shepard looked. His face didn't import at all, but fortunately, I had the face code. Unfortunately, he came out with bizzarely puffy cheeks that I didn't notice until after starting the game - so I went through the entire game with a Shepard who looked like he was storing nuts for the winter.

**

Ash: So... skipper... I've been meaning to ask you.

Shepard: Yes...?

Ash: What is going on with your cheeks?

I didn't know text could make sound.

Miranda does not wear "swimwear" I wish people would stop saying that.

Miranda is attractive, Ashley is attractive and they are both strong women that's all they have in common. A different side to Ashley is shown perhaps a "woman" side, that doesn't make her a Miranda wannabe.

"Sound"?
Since when have I claimed that text typed on an inanimate object makes sound?

I simply said that your reaction to previous statements has been a little overpowering and brash... Hostile.

I understand that you have a strong opinion about this topic, but you must recognize that it is just that, it is an opinion.

I just ask that you stop being rude over the internet and allow other people to express their opinions without you responding to them with anger or resentment.

And again I say, "SWIMWEAR" is the phrase used by Ash in the hospital scene. So it is within our rights to QUOTE the character and the writers when discussing that particular character and game.

EDIT: Back to Topic... anyone got one not talked about yet?

How am I being rude? I'm just stating my "opinion" you know because I have the "right".

I also don't like how your text "sounds" it's "hostile".

I think we should all probably just take a step back and cool off a bit.

We all like Ash here. No sense in letting things get tense.

The most obvious example:

Forgive me if I'm wrong but "Cool story bro" is pretty sarcastic and is meant to insult someone. I don't need to go into it, we all speak internet.

And just drop it, this topic is not for arguing, which is what you were doing previoussly.

And I understand that you have your opinion and I know where your coming from with it.

Forgive me if I misread all your previous posts, they came off as you having an "agitated"and "aggresive" tone in my mind. So if I'm wrong I apoligize. (thats me offering an olive branch b/c internet arguments are for 12 year olds *hint* *hint*)

If I knew how to post pictures, I'd post an Ash pic or two.

I've tried posting pics in the past, but it never works for me.

you can actually post an image dirctly into the "standard form" of a post. copy the image and pate it into the text box it should ask you if it's okay for the site to access your clip board twice for the first image after that you can just paste freely. There will be more Ashley pics!

Doesn't work for me. When I right click, I don't have the option of pasting.
