She'll probably only get 2 lines cause remember BW have to fit in loads of Tali and Liara stuff cause they are in love with them and 'no one likes Ashley' GIVE US WHAT WE WANT, ASHLEY, ASHLEY AND MORE ASHLEY!!!!

Come on, dude.  Don't hate.  It's bad karma.

It's not hate, I have said many times there is not one character I don't like but I am fed up with certain characters being far more involved than others.

It's ironic I can say to give us more Ashley and I get told 'not to hate' while Ashley takes most stick of all the characters and no one cares. Give us fairness and equality not depth of certain characters and as little as possible of others. If Liara or Tali got as brushed aside as badly in ME3 that Ashley did there would eb uproar yet because of the general feelings towards Ash no one cares if she is mis-treated, that annoys me

post needed some Ash

I think anyone who is a major fan of Ashley wants a happy ending, that simple. Even I want a happy ending, most main characters in movies and games get happy endings and the girl they want.

No, that's not right. I just want Ash & Shepard being together in the end, either both dead, both alive or Ashley sharing Shepard's last moments.

So yeah, I just want both being together in the end, doesn't matter if it's purely happy or purely sad - or something between.

Also I don't think an ending with Ashley makes me blind for plot holes in the Endings. BW devs don't have to change the endings completely, they just need to fix any major plot holes. Like: "how did Shepard get back to Earth in the destruction ending" or "why did Joker flee with the Normandy" ...

Too bad BW won't reintroduce the Dark Energy Plot.

@ Danny:

Have this read

Out of the "permanent squadmates", Ashley got the shortest end of the stick, true, but others got a worse treatment. I doubt BW will fill the interaction holes in the second half of the game with a DLC, but in case they do, I'll be very, very happy.

I've read that and I fully understand and it doesn't surprise me Ash/Kaidan actually get more than several other characters but for an LI, especially one that has been with you since the first game I just hate the way they (or in my case Ashley) just so obviously gets bumped aside, mainly for Liara. I don't get what the 'it' factor is that Liara seems to have, maybe cause she is also the shadow broker, but I just felt so let down at the end that my fav characters weren't given justice too but seems like it was a common issue in ME3.
As you say hope remains for the DLC but there is only so much it can do and I still have my doubts about it.

well, I use it for one of my headcanons (may lead to a fanfic). And actually, it's a better plot then starchild and "We invented an artificial lifeform that kills biological lifeforms so they don't get killed by artificial lifeforms" ... :innocent:

I concur here.

Ashley and Kaidan are displayed as "primary" romances. They have their own flashback movie, they have the biggest emotional attachments and you need to work hard to keep them alive (and only on expense of the other one).

Also Ashley is a poster character and got her own 12" action figure. However, she lacks full content in ME3 and feels incomplete. So everything OUTSIDE ME3 promotes her to a "canon LI" while the game itself lacks that promotion.

@CptData what I meant is that I want to see Ashley and Shepard get a better ending, I know the endings aren't changing but it would be nice to have a better ending for them.

Happy for me means better.

2193 CE
0007 A.R. (After Reapers)
Ashley and her squad are assaulting an insurgent's base. Where she encounters an unexpected, but very welcome and old brother-in-arms.

Ashley: We've taken the west side of the complex. The insurgents are currently regrouping in the North-East side. James and Priscilla are currently guarding the exit.
Shepard: 'Priscilla'? Should I know that name?
Ashley: You have your protégés, and I have mine.
Shepard: Nice. Good on you. So what're you planning to do now.
Ashley: Actually, Until you showed up thirty seconds ago, I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to do. My best infiltrator went down on the western assault.
Shepard: Lucky I decided to join in on the party.
Ashley: Happy that you were in the neighbourhood. Now, the system's encased by some sort of security lock. I can't make heads or ass of it. Think you'd be able to crack it?
Shepard: Yes ma'am.
James: Cap'n, we've got more incoming. Nothing we can't handle yet, but its starting to get hairy.
Shepard: *amused* "Cap'n"?
Ashley: Understood. Shepard is hacking the lockout -
James: Repeat, you said 'Shepard' right?
Ashley: That I did.
James: Thought he retired?
Shepard: I had some freetime, thought I'd come and visit.
James: I'll try to save a few tangos for you, Loco.
Shepard: Appreciated. *To Ash* Ready to go?
Ashley: Lets kick some ass, just like old times.
Shepard: Just like old times.

^ great one, 'though I miss the romantic undertone ... aren't those two not together in that one? And where's retired!Shepard when Ash is in the field?

There wasn't supposed to be a romantic undertone. They aren't together here. And yeah, Ash kept her job at Shepard's encouragement/insistance.

Hmmm ;)
I wonder what parallel!headcanon can result in a non-romantic Shepley moment in your universe, Aurora ^^
Ash & Shep are always together in my headcanons, regardless if the endings are accepted or retconned.

And it pisses me off I still can't write that dialogue between Tali and Ash.

Just, damn it.
I have something in my head for that and I just can't write it down.

My thoughts on Shepard's death at the end:

In a movie or a book, Shepard's death would be acceptable for me. As Rudy mentioned, it is the "heroes death" for some people and a bitter-sweet ending overall. However, since this is an interactive experience and the observer is heavily involved, those that explore the game to its full potential should be able to have their Shepard live as a reward for their time.

If my Shepard did not have an LI, I'd be fine with his death despite the circumstances. Leaving someone behind makes me feel like a moron so surviving and reuniting would be rather nice!

Well, they were formerly together, but after the Reaper war ended Shepard's head was everywhere. Completely and utterly frakked over. So he and Ash talked, argued, talked again and eventually they decided to end it. At least until they could sort out everything that's happened.

@Hellfire, especially saying as you've died once before and left your LI to try and pick themselves up and get on with their lives, now you come back but just end up dying AGAIN and leaving them alone AGAIN.

Death ending is not a bad ending but as we have all said the chance for success and victory and happiness should have been there

You know someone actually took the list of promises that Bioware made about ME3 and presented it to several trading commissions. Wow, some people really, really hated the ending.

It was the card that collapsed the house for some. Some people's hatred of EA amazes even me! I guess someone has to play David to take down Goliath.

EA ruined C&C 4 for me. Tiberium Twilight was horrible. I preferred the third to be the ending. Four was horrible. And the unitcap and the whole walker-base concept was disgustingly horrible. Actually makes me wanna play skyrim... I hated and still hate skyrim...

Well, that's kinda sad to know.
First Pierce, no Shepley? You definitely know how to make a sad puppy sad :crying:

But yeah, can see where you come from. Your Shepard lost far too many good friends, had an awful youth, Pierce - his "sister" died and Ashley ... well yeah. Broken Shepard is broken.

Well ... there's a reason why EA got rated the "most awful company in USA", right?
At least as a gaming publisher, EA is the worst choice you can pick as a developer. But sometimes you have no choice. Either EA or no money at all.

What do think Brooks was exactly recording today?

Personally I think BioWare wouldn't have gone through the trouble to get her & Sbarge back if it were just a few lines each. I think it's something that's pretty significant otherwise, it just wouldn't be worth the extra effort.

Which is promising.

Well, they didn't invite Thane's VA afaik. That alone gives me the idea they're indeed just recording new endgame lines but won't include any new scenes for the romance. MAYBE they re-introduce some cut content we know from the leaked script, but the chances are really low. Also some bugs could get fixed (like the Gabby/Ken-bug), resulting in more Ashley content.

Think BW just casted the VAs for some lines. Maybe they ALSO did new lines for future DLCs, regardless if they're romance centered or not. But the chances are not very high.

Meh, we'll see I guess.

BioWare bringing back the VA's is more than I originally expected to happen anyway. Either way, it's nice to see them putting in more effort into it than any of us really thought they would. I can't complain, we all want more Ash content, no matter how big or small, and we're apparently getting exactly that so... :)

Well, this time they seem to have more time for recording, BP93.

Last time they STILL were recording just few weeks before ME3 went Gold. Same for romantic scenes - also done in the very last moment. Wouldn't be surprised if Liara's content was the only stuff that was finished long before the rest - and Ash got last-minute-development.
