Ashley/EDI dialouge was another missed opportunity. I know EDI says she talked to her about the robotic body, but I would have preferred to see the conversation myself. Also would have been interesting to see Ash's input on synthetics, as well as the Joker/EDI relationship (if you encourage it).

I knew that was coming. 

That reminds me to finish that playthrough...I spent long enough rebuilding Jennifer after ME3 made her look like a hamster. It was pretty much a case of "Gentlemen, we can rebuild her. We have the technology ". Cue a good while spent with Lazarus Mod and Gibbed. It was painful. 

Good to see someone switched the thread's life support back on. It was getting quiet in here!

@DWH , YCF has something similar at least.

I'd have thought Ashley would have crapped herself first time she saw EDI after what happened on Mars (maybe she did but I can't remember it). Would have been an interesting scene with Ash coming back onto the Normandy and being approached by EDI then freaking out before Shepard or someone has to step in and explain everything to her.

No. Instead of bothering to do something in-game, this is resolved off screen. You learn about it through auto-dialouge with EDI, even, instead of Ash. Right after Ash comes on board, Shepard can ask EDI if Ash reacted well to EDI's new body. EDI said that she "explained the situation" to her.

It never comes up again.

On to happier thoughts...


Shepard and Ash walk into the Captain’s quarters, following the defeat of the Reapers.

Ash: So, Shepard, how did the checkup go?

Shepard: Really well, actually. I finally have full use of the new leg. Most of my other wounds are either healed, or on their way there.

Ash: That so, huh? So, have you been cleared for “strenuous activity” yet?

Shepard: (chuckles, walks into bathroom): Yeah. They took me off the last of the medication, so I’m not drowsy anymore. My broken bones have all healed, my spine is healed, and I have my full range of movement back. Turns out those cybernetic implants Cerberus put into me not only saved my life again, but also helped me heal faster. They said I should be ready to get back to a full range of activities. Even active duty, if that’s what I want. Of course, I’m still a little sore, so I think maybe we should take it slow for a bi…

(walks out of bathroom)



Shepard: I… I…

Ash: You. Over here. NOW.

Shepard: I… What was I saying?

I think it would have been similar to when Admiral Raan first saw Legion on the Normandy. 

Legion:  *walks into the war room*--"Shepard-Commander"
Raan: "WHAT THE F--- IS THIS!??!?"

I laughed so hard when i first saw that scene.

I wonder if that scene with Raan is different if you took Legion on Tali's loyalty mission? I never do, because taking Legion onto a quarian ship seems like a remarkably stupid idea.

Really would have been nice to have some kind of interactive scene where Ash first see's EDI's new body. I also would have really liked to get her take on the EDI/Joker relationship:

Ash: So, skipper... You're really encouraging Joker to hook up with the Ship's AI? What happens if they break up?

Shepard: Well, if that happens, we really only have to worry if EDI starts singing "Daisy." And that rarely ever happens anymore.

Ash....

Shepard: Ash, that was a joke.

There are some really good ones out there. 

On a side note, I think that Jim Caviezel would make a perfect Commander Shepard if they do make a movie.

Bioware wont allow you to comprise their "artistic integrity" and "artistic vision" they just want us to speculate on how everyone in the galaxy dies a slow painful death. But don't worry we have colors!!!!!!

It's funny... I was starting to feel better about things, then I noticed someone with Bioware posted a link to an article about how the ending was about "saying goodbye to the Mass Effect universe" or something like that. In the link, they said, "Finally, someone gets it."

That just p*ssed me off all over again. I guess since we're supposed to say "goodbye" to the Mass Effect universe, I'll just stick with my original plan and not bother with buying any future DLC.

I'm waiting to see what happens with the EC. I don't want to be totally negative anymore. I don't know for sure what they have planned. Maybe they'll at least give us something with Ash. An ending where they're together would help me accept everything else.
