Virmire will always irritate me.
That's because you had great experience at least in ArmA.
They have bewbage and ass@s.
Ah, yes, also "awesome" button which doesn't work.

I might take some flak for this - but I actually prefer the way ME2 and 3 handeled armor.
I like Shep in his N7 armor. Would prefer to just customize/add to that instead of constantly changing armor all the time. Plus, honestly, the constant armor changing broke immersion for me. Especially when I switched armor while deployed. Not sure how that would work, exactly.
I'd prefer combination of two. First, remove those "grades" (I-X), leave only weights - light, medium, heavy and different types of armour - Predator, Phoenix, etc.
For example, Phoenix has built-in regeneration module, thus it could heal you slowly, without using medigel. Predator got extra shielding by default, Colossus reduce damage dealt to health and, for example, give wearer better "deflection" - chance to negate damage dealt completely (when shields are down, of course), especially when it comes to last health bar.
Armour weights should affects cooldown and rest "speedo" parametres, including moving speed, accuracy, etc.
Then you can customize your existing parts of armour, by adding some elements - extra ammo pouches (that what I hated in ME3 especially, it's external pouch, I can slap it wherever I want), extra batteries for shield generator, extra grenades, list goes on.

My main problem with ME3* is that it didn't involve a way to customize squadmate armor, as well. Would have been nice to be able to mod Ash's armor with a specific chestplate, arms, etc, that would impact her stats.
*As far as armor is concerned.
Well, at first it would be nice to give Ash armour in first place - her default suit hardly qualify as one. And to Liara too, btw. And give them proper helmets. Not necessary with rebreathers, open-face should do the trick too, at least outside vaccum.
But what really pisses me off in ME2-3, it's thermal clips introduction, especially in ME3, since in ME2 we at least had quite fast health/shield recharge rates, helping to maintain "fast-adrenaline action" legend. In ME3 all that crap on "long weapon cooldown" is simply irrelevant, because I spend enough time behind cover just to weight till my shields actually recharge. And that time is pretty damn enough to cool-down Particle Rifle and let it recharge.
Not to mention how partners ignore limited supply of those clips. At least they could throw you couple, adding some viperous/admiring comment on Shepard's marksman skills, damage output or on that "house arrest" with obvious lack of practice in shooting (or questioning whether it actually was any arrest, since skills are still there).
Plus, what I don't like - team-mate "death" is not permanent, you can revive them, two ways now. For the **** sake, in old "Republic commando" (not to mentioning Resident Evil 5) protagonist "death" wasn't equal to immediate game-over when there was at least one team-mate alive. And given fact that Garrus took down Atlas on Sur-Kesh singlehandedly (along with escort) and shot couple of Brutes on Tuchanka (singlehandedly again), I think giving us "mission failure" at Shepard's death is a bit devaluing cost of life and all that pseudo-phylosophical crap.
Yes, that "team-mate" care is somewhat smelling of egoism, but when properly done it could actually work to cement team relationship even further.
And I think good man Hellfire257 could add a lot on team-work aspects in ArmA. Even in single-player.

I just started playing me1 again, earthborn and war hero. Ashley and him got off on the wrong foot, wanted to see what happened if you were a little mean to her. I felt so guilty.
I don't remember "family talk" for Earthborne, but since I recently replayed colonist in ME1, I do remember Ash's phrase on "foot in her mouth" during that talk.

Yeah, renegade is jerk sometimes, but he doing his job good. But I don't like renegade in ME3... Pure evil...
I think both paragon and renegade are 1) too narrow and single-sided (even for single-side characters), 2) they can't decide what path to choose for those characters.
Because in many cases paragon behave even worse than "lawful stupid" paladin and renegade is... Well, I think I'm out of English words to describe him properly.
Yet on some cases renegade behave quite normally. I was a bit surprised for that.
And for the record, I didn't perform "renegade actions" like shooting Mordin or being **** to team. It's just out of role, I think.
