No. I really don't. Javik would probably treat Ashley either with respect for her combat skills, or without respect because she's a woman. Hell, he constantly puts down Shepard until the very last charge.
No, I think Javik is image of Shepard, if he looses. They have similar story.survivor_686 wrote...

I dunno. I'd think Javik would get along with Ashley.
Javik is a dark reflection of Ashley. In ME1 Ashley had mild xenophobic tendencies, but she had the ability to use reason and was willing to adjust to the new situation. Javik is the other extreme of Ashley, with xenophobic tendencies for just about everyone.
Both are suspicious of synthetics
Both are pragmatists
Yet there definitely would be some tension. They wouldn't hate each other or even been great buddies. But there would be a degree of respect between the two.

That's true. Kind of. I just think that maybe writing for an actual game is a little more difficult than writing fan fiction.
There's a lot of good stuff here, yes, but even here I see varying interpretations of Ash - sometimes wildly varying. Getting a character down can be hard. Getting their voice and personality just right can be hard.

I don't like that her writer took the easy way out in writing her character. IMO s/he stayed away from anything too complex or original and focused on something that would be simple to get right - her feelings on her family - because they were trying so hard not to get her wrong.
But focusing on not getting her wrong doesn't mean they got her right.
And it was probably hard to integrate Ash's ME1 personality with her ME2 distrust and ME3 growth, but a professional writer should be able to do that.

Yeah, it's just that I don't think they got her wrong. What was there seemed right, at least to me. It just didn't seem complete.
Would have been nice to have a discussion on religion, espeicaily since, you know - Shepard died. I mean, there's an in depth conversation waiting to happen. Would have been nice to address Shepard's time with Cerberus - maybe even walk in on her having a discussion with Thane about it when you come to Heurta for the first time after talking to him about her. The tone of the discussion could even have been different depending on how much you tell Thane (there should have been a range of options when he asks you about her, from "she means nothing to me anymore," to "I love her, and would like to have her back"). Would have been nice to be able to talk to Ash about her time away from Shepard, and how she became an officer. Or about why she changed her hair. Or to have the option for a date where you stroll around the Presidium commons and, hell, talk about music, movies, life in the Alliance military ... There would be an opportunity like we had in ME1, where conversing with Ash is as much of a chance to define who our Shepard is as it is to learn about Ash.
And, yes, she shouldn't be stuck in that damn obseveration room whenever she's on the Normandy. I wouldn't mind if she did that for a few missions, but, damn it, Shepard at least should have the option of talking to her about it. And Garrus and Tali should talk to her about it as well, because they both know her, and I think they'd be concerned about why she's suddenly a shut in.
Anyway, Ash is awesome, even if that isn't explored enough in ME3.

Found this. From Ash's original writer - Chris L'Etoile.
He wrote a lot of content for ME1, including the entire codex.

He wrote two blogs on the inception of the series. Link to Part 1 and Part 2.
I think we can clearly see where Ash gets her cynicism.

Ashley: You pester me for spending all my time in one room, but here you as sulking in your quarters.
Shepard: I'm not sulking, I'm building my models.
Ashley: You're cooped up in your cabin, playing with your toys. We've been docked at the Citadel for a few hours, usually your one of the first off.
Shepard: I've been working.
Ashley: Gluing plastic together isn't 'work', Skipper.
Shepard: I was working, Ashley. You always seem to waltz in when I'm not.
Ashley: I have a knack for showing up when I'm needed. Had a good teacher.
Shepard: Heh. Let me guess, this was a former CO of yours who always had to play the hero. Even if he went out of his way to do it.
Ashley: Lucky guess.
Shepard: I'm good at playing guessing games.
Ashley: I'm sure. But I think I'd rather ask you out to dinner... or dragging you out by your heels if that's what it takes.
Shepard: Knowing you, Williams? You'd probably do it too.
Ashley: Yes. You've been stuck up here for hours, and I wanna make sure you actually eat something tonight. Even if I have to force it down myself.
Shepard: As romantic as that sounds, I think I'm fully capable of feeding myself. That being said, if you need an escort, I'd be happy to oblige.
Ashley: How kind of you, Good Ser.
Shepard: Anything for you, My lady.
Shepard + Ashley laugh
Ashley: We've totally been watching too Game of Thrones lately.
Shepard: ... We totally have.

Ashley and Javik dialouge is something I wish we had more of in the game.
Javik: I find this "Ashley" to be brash and insubordinate, Commander. Do you allow all of your underlings to address their superiors this way? In my cycle, we threw insubordinate soldiers out the airlock.
(Yeah, I know he really doesn't say that they threw that many things out the airlock, but I couldn't help myself)

Why not both?
To me, that would be the same as Javik's response to Shepard's paragon-ish final comment on the Citadel. "... whose ancestors lived in caves." IMHO, that's not a lot of respect there.
I don't think that Javik ever got past "I'm surrounded by primatives." Even at the end, I think he was amused if you didn't let him use the memory shard and had enough of this cycle if you let him use it.
I also think that Ashley couldn't care less what Javik thought and that she would be right.
