Most of these "game reporters" are a joke and don't even know their material. Hell, I don't even think they know about the games. But that's how it is.

Not saying all of them are like that, but a good number of them make themselves look like fools.

But I think what ticked me off the most is at E3 and stuff whenver Ash was on screen the interviewer would ask "So...is this a returning face or someone new?" I was like "really?...you just saidf your a big fan and you dont reconize one of the primary characters? For god sake her face is still the freakin same!"

I don't pay much attention to what people like that say... most of them probably haven't even played the game. lol

I think there is something different about her nose... idk what though.

The bridge seems wider I think...makes her nose look bigger.

ah yes the "Asari commando" convo. I've been putting ashley in light armor for about 5 ME1 PT's now and she's still an immortl tank. But since she scoffs at the most feared warriors in the galaxy (those commandos) let's list all the famous people in Mass Effect that do wear heavy armor suits and their success in combat!

Nihlius: Spectre sent to evaluation Comamnder Shepard (killed by one pistol shot)
Random mercenaries: killed by Comandner shepard and maybe Ashley along the course of ME1
Anoleis's thugs on Noveria: KIA by Shepard
The geth: the come with armor plating and are killed by the hundreds by various alliance soldiers including Ashley.
Krogan Mercenaries: also killed by the hundreds and ahve redundant nervous systems and regeneration.
Turian Mercenaries: Also killed by the hundreds over the course of two games.
Saren: heavy and reaper upgraded armor, still dead as dead can be after being defeated twice before his final death.
Commander Shepard: yes even she wore heavy armor and she still died....then was subsiquently brought back to life two years later to resume her role as a hyper lethal entity.
Bloodpack and Blue suns mercs: still died despite their heavy armor.
Jedore: had heavy armor and a rocket launcher: dead.
Warden Kuril: head of purgatory, used heavy armor: dead.

I think my point has been made that heavy armor doesn't neccisarrily give one a better hcance of surviving. One group not on there are asari. Yes the eclipse have some asari but you scarely see asari dying as cannon fodder. Even though Ashley scoffs at it the Asari are the deadliest things in space when it comes to combat and it'd be great character development if Ashley learned from the Asari now that she's a spectre and used their armor to become even more deadly than she already was.

Um... fyi...

Nihlus' armor was a light armor. You can get it for garrus near the end of ME1 and it's classified as light armor. :P

Not all of Anoleis' thugs wore heavy armor... remember that blonde cop? She wore light armor ... and she was the first to die in that fight in all my playthroughs. ;)

And if we wanna go off listing things...

Kaidan: dies on virmire... light armor.
Jack, Thane, Kasumi, Tali, Miranda, Jacob: Can all die in ME2.... all wore light armor.
Turian assassins in ME1, outside of Chora's Den: Light armor..... dead.
Thugs inside Chora's Den when going after Fist: Light armor/no armor .... also dead.
Asari Commandos: light armor..... again, dead.
Jenkins: first to die.... light armor.

Anyway, just b/c you have light armor doesn't mean you can evade death b/c you're quicker. Plus, when have you seen Asari commandos wear jackets and thigh high boots with heels? hmmm? :P

Point being... it's not necessarily about the outfit... it's what it may or may not represent for Ashley in ME3... I've said this countless times, yet no one seems to understand.

We don't have much information... so everything turns to speculation... that's all we can do right now and I'd like Ashley not to be turned into a bimbo. All of this arguments and concerns may very well turn out to mean absolutely nothing once the game comes out and each respective side has been proven wrong. But until then... I'm not just going to accept the look b/c "it may have better defensive properties" or "she is a spectre now and needs light clothing"... sorry, that doesn't fly with me.

Also, sorry if I came off as rude... nothing against the actual posters... just the idea of "everything is gun be k" ... lmao

whoa, Jenkins was a soldier class (that' why ash replacs him) he wore medium armor as default. so tht's not light armor. While you list people who can die, you gotta put ashley as one of them as well since she and Kaidan can die on Virmire.

Outfits do not = character change most times but when they do it's never negative. It's liek badpie said , who said laides in video games can't look beautiful but still be kick ass? People complain that she  looks like Miranda, but forget that Miranda is the best squadmate in Mass Effect 2. Her powers are the only ones that work on every mission, even on insanity when even trash cans have armor and biotic barriers in combat. If Ashleys outfit equals Miranda type treatment then I have no gripes, it means she comes with a healthy serving of plot armor and makes her incredibly hard to kill in cutscenes.

Miranda, Kasumi, Tali, Samara, and Jack are no ones "bimbo"  they're masters of their craft and Ashley's no different. Everything will be fine because whther you are anyone else stuck in nancy negative fun land wants to think, bioware does listen to us and they know more than we do since, you know, it's their story and their characters.

I would prefer to be able to give her her ME1 Alliance uniform and have a bun toggle while she is on duty. Posted Image

She could wear a lot less while in my captain's cabin though like the night before Ilos. Posted Image

I was actually talking as an outfit to wear while with Shepard. Of course I don't expect her to wear that in battle. She ain't no Miranda. Lol.

wtf... it won't post it... quote my previous post to see my reply, if you want.

This is what I replied with ADL: (let's see if this works, lmao)

Regardless of Jenkins class... he was wearing light armor on Eden Prime when he died.

I never said her outfit FOR SURE = character change. The problem is that it MAY. And that's a bad thing when you go from Armor to Clothing. Still, we've been promised armor, so that doesn't really matter.... it's what they MAY or MAY NOT have done to her character.

AGAIN, I do not care if that's what she looks like or even WANTS to look like. Her choice (writers/desinger's choice)... but when it affects her character, that's when I'll have a problem.

Miranda's standing as a squadmate and her usefulness have nothing to do with what they mean. They mean sexing her up (skin tight suits, no armor, heels, big bewbs, etc) to draw in more fans.

I didn't say they were anyone's bimbos.

@Reed The new outfit could also complement A change in Ash's character. It's plausible, that the writers wanted Ash to loosen up, after het promotion and all that she's been through and that letting her hair down and giving her a new outfit would complement that.

I hope Ash has changed a little (not too much), it keeps things fresh and interesting and if a new suit would make sense with the change in personality, then it might be better that way.

AND that's what I'm afraid of... I don't want a very different Ashley. Some progression if fine... but not too much. And with going from armor to clothing... it's seems like there would be a LOT of change IF they change her! (note the IF)

I even noted one if too many! Posted Image But I guess it would mean a pretty big change in personality. Perhaps though they find a way to make it seem natural if they change her. I mean they are pretty darn good writers (even if they lost all there mad skillz at horizon Posted Image) I'm staying positive, for now.

The same people aren't in charge of the writing though. That changed at the beginning of ME2.... which also happens to be when we were introduced to the FAIL that was Shepard on horizon. Oh and the fail that was only seeing Ash twice the whole game (intro and horizon)! :crying:

Um, that's actually a fact. (I will do a photobomb of ashley to make up for the immense amount of off topicnes sI'm about to put in my own thread, bad AD) Her powers (Overload and Warp) deal with every protection you come across on insanity. Her passive , even before it's fully evolved, gives the squad health and weapon damage bonuses, and when it is evolved the bonus increases alot that's more than what Shepard does for the squad. No other squaddies makes the rest of the tam better, just Miranda.

now that that's done, ash bomb, deployed! Take cover!

and as a special treat, and excerpt from the upcoming chapter of Guns and poems (Ironically enough it's about the casual outfit.Posted Image)

Ashley looked back to the crate and gasped at its contents. There was a new suit of armor and two alliance dress uniforms. One uniform was standard Alliance blue; it looked as though it was made of spandex and came with thigh high boots with wedges and gloves that had the Spectre insignia on them. The second was the same except that it came in the colors of her current armor. Another message beeped into her omnitool and she figured the crate came with descriptions based on what she was looking at.
