Well, you know, Vega's manner of talking, this "Loco' thing and ect. He feels not like he is under command of Shepard, he feels equal. (:

We still don't know how they met. Well, I don't and since I don't plan to buy any "merchandise", I probably never will.
Yet such manners could be acceptable, actually - there is strong bond of brotherhood in close-knit unit, so certain "familiarity", is accepted. Everybody though knows his place and subordination. That's why I like Vega and Jacob, actually - they know their positions are under Shepard, yet they don't have that "sir-yes-sir" stuff.

DWH1982 wrote...

The drunk scene happens before Ash and Shepard are back together, though.

I'd say if there is "reunion" (not flag "ashley true love") - it is in Hospital. That should be logical. Or that missing scene after "back to Normandy".

DWH1982 wrote...

It was a momentary burst of jealousy, because I thought Vega was making a move on the woman I had a history with - and wanted back.

Like Jaheira used to say - "Jealousy is never becoming, I know".
Wise woman, what can I say. Posted Image
I say again, certain amount of "out of line" behavior is accepted. And since she drunk with him, well, that was her decision.

DWH1982 wrote...

Realized pretty quickly that wasn't the case, though. Besides, I always feel like Vega and Cortez have chemistry. Posted Image

Come on, that's not even below the belt, that's just... Strange, my dictionaries don't have proper analogy, so I have to find proper description myself. Okay, being able to work with someone means only ability to work with someone. Plus, they served together and I have feeling they have that "I'd watching ladies" talk-in-the-bar before, so they know where each one is stood.
See no problems tagging along. At least Cortez irritates me much less than ME3 Liara. I was much suprised, knowing it is possible to ran past her back in London.

Vega was a cool character I liked him, but my Shepard did have questions as to why he was filling Ashley with alcohol.

Stop blaming Vega for that, it was her decision to drink, her and her alone.

You know "Skipper" reminds me this penguin from "Madagascar" movie. XD

@Rudy

Yes, I understand that, but it needs to know better each other to acts like that. And yes, Vega fallow every Shepard's order.

We do Actually. When Shepard surrendered himself to the Alliance after Arrival, Anderson tracked down Vega specifically to be his[Shepard's] warden/guard. He was already a supporter of Shepard and probably his only real companion outside of Anderson during that whole six months.

Well, it wasn't overused in ME1 ...
Somehow I believe "Loco" or "Lola" was overused by Vega. Ash used "Skipper" only once. Not often enough - especially since Kimberly acted that word in a way it made me shivering.

In short: only Ash is able to call you "Skipper" with a sexy undertone. And only Ash says the "Oh Captain, my Captain" line with so much sex in her voice you could fall for her instantly. I did

I have to say... another lesson if anyone tries to do something like Mass Effect - don't explain so many things off screen, in novels and comics.

I'm sorry, but sometimes I feel like the non-game media covers things that should get more coverage in-game.

I'm not even convinced that was put in there by the writers.

In all honesty... I think Ash's writer forgot about the "Skipper" nick name. I have this sneaking suspicion that Kimberly Brooks, when she was reading the coup scene, remembered, and dediced to throw it in there because she felt it would give the scene more emotion.

Soon they going to make a movie...
I don't want it! It will be just another movie without soul and created only for money. You will see.

And I don't, it's fine. Not that I'm fine with Loco (2011.09.07Posted Image), but I don't think it's overused.

Definitely. If I had the chance to develop ME-series!reboot, I would scrap the novels & comics. Either it's explained ingame - or it didn't happen. Period.

Well, if I were lead writer, some stuff would feel different. Instead of a certain "canon romance", all romances have the same chance to be the "canon romance", depending on your Shepard, for example.

Well, I think Kimberly just did a great job with mostly generic & crappy lines. She deserved better. Hell, she's the voice of Ashley!

Think she should get a printed copy of our project, same for Chris L'Etoile ^^

Yeah. Emily Wong deserved better than that.

I actually didn't think that Bioware would do such a thing to such a well liked character, even a minor one. I kept expecting Wong to turn up with the resistance movement at the end of the game. Didn't happen, though.

I'd pay 60 bucks to have her instead that Allers (in this case 80 USD price-tag would be justified - 20 for Valiant, 60 for Wong). Seriously. Not that Wong's presense would make ME3 much better, but it will be better than this spit in our faces.

Unknown. I believe it was Patrick Weekes who said that he wished he could have found a place for Gianna and Shiala in-game.

Yeah, see... if I were writing ME3.

1. The whole "dark matter" thing never would have been abandoned.

2. There would have been three branches to the main plot. After the first Citadel trip, you'd have the "Priority Palevan" assignment. In addittion, Hackett would give you missions to root out Prothean tech to help with the Crucible, as well as missions to help sort out what's going on with Cerberus. Both would also be priority missions, and the Prothean tech missions would eventually begin unravelling the dark matter plot.

So, basically, for most of the game you'd have three priority missions - one that involves buidling support with the other races, one that involves uncovering the relevance of dark matter, and one that involves figuring out Cerberus' role. Late in the game, all three threads would converge, but for most of the game, you'd have to complete two of the three standing Priority missions for things on the Citadel to change, and to get new assignments. At certain points (like in order to proceed to the coup attempt) you'd need to have progressed in all three standing Priority threads to a certain mission.

3. Parasini, due to her association with Noveria, would be heavily involved with the dark matter plot thread, and would join as a squadmate very early. She would more or less have the same skills as Ash. Miranda would be heavily involved with unravelling Cerberus, and would also join as a squadmate.

4. After the coup attempt, both Miranda and Parasini are given reasons to leave. If Ash surivived Virmire and the coup attempt, you can convince Miranda to stay, but not Parasini. If Kaidan survived, you can convince Parasini to stay, but not Miranda. Basically, they "fill in" for whichever VS is in the hospital. If both VS are dead at that point, both Parasini and Miranda can be convinced to stay. Alternately, since both would become war assetts, you could also let both leave, regardless of the status of the VS, and just deal with a smaller squad.

EDIT: Of course, depending on choices made in ME1, Parasini can be dead. In that case, you don't get her as a squaddie, and some of the dark matter missions turn out harder.

I'm thinking an early dark matter mission would take place on Noveria. Depending on your previous choices on Noveria in ME1, that mission could be a lot harder. Like, if you screwed Parasini and Lorik Quinn, and left the corrupt administrator in charge, he's now cooperating with the Reapers and screws you over every chance he gets - costing you war assets and valuable information.
