Just watched a video on youtube about someones fav top 10 moments and the had the part where they left Ashley on Virmire, I'd never seen it before and I never want to see that again, it was horrible
Yeah, this kind of stuff is nothing new. I've more or less given up on the extended fan base as far as Ash is concerned.
I also think that might have something to do with her reduced content in ME3. Bioware more or less gave in to ignorant fan hate as far as the VS is concerned. The fact that they have a chance to "finish the job" and get the other VS killed probably only further served to reduce Ash's content, since the average player can make sure she's not around through two chances to kill her, or by telling her not to come with them if she does survive.
I'm pretty much at the point where I'm reluctant to venture outside of the Ash thread on the BSN. VS hate has a way of showing up anywhere.

Basically all crap complaints that amount to someone not putting time and effort into considering Ash's point of view, or someone being p*ssed that Ash isn't yet another character that just follows Shepard aorund blindly and accepts everything he has to say.
I should also note, I've seen people on here moaning about how they "hate" Miranda now because she wouldn't come with them during ME3. I guess none of the other characters are, you know - allowed to have their own goals or their own lives.

Ha, I haven't been on another part of the BSN for about 2 weeks now, as much as I love other characters I don't have anything to say on their threads and most people don't like Ash so once they find out you do then they pounce on you!

Kaidan doesn't seem to be any more well liked than Ash, because he's "whiney" or something. Even though the stuff he supposedly "whines" about you have to drag out of him, because he's actually put his past behind him.
Too bad Kaidan couldn't be like Tali, who, you know, never whines about the geth and her homeworld. Or Wrex, who, you know, never whines about the genophage. Or basically any of the ME2 squadmates, who, you know, never whine about their personal problems.
EDIT: Kaidan and Ash were my default squad in ME1. Best. Squad. Ever.

At the end of the day Ashley is suspicious of the Council. ME3 nearly proves her right.

Like, for example, letting people you don't know much about - or who you know have divided loyalties - poke around the classified engine of your advanced starship.
Really Tali - stealth tech showing up in the Migrant Fleet? Edwin Shepard thought he could trust you more than that...

I tried to write down a Vega-Ashley-dialogue but scrapped it. Same for a Javik-Ashley-dialogue and one between Shep & Ash. What's wrong with me? I'm dry

I still think it would be interesting to hear Liara try to explain to Ash why she never contacted her about retreiving Shepard's body. I mean... in most of our canons, Ash was in a relationship with Shepard. You'd think Liara could have told her what happened.

So does anyone have any ideas of what Ashley was up to during the 6 months between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3?
There has been no offical statement about Ashley's activities in the gaps between ME1 and ME2 and ME3. As far as we know at some point during these periods she was promoted twice and received the mysterious "S1" designation (Even Weekes doesn't know what it means).
That being said there are a some good fan-fics which cover that period. I recommend "Tears of the Sun" by madenigthwing.

Well, it looks like she collected some information about the Reapers.
And the response she probably got from the Council was, "Ah yes, 'Reapers'. Your evidence doesn't mean anything. You're delusional, and we want you to stop bothering us."

I personally think there was too short a time span between ME2 and ME3. ME3 should have taken place in 2187 or 2188. It just seems like more time passed.

She collected this information by Alliance order, and only for them. (as I think)
And I can understand council in this question, why are they saying that Reapers only a dream.

Well I'm actually writing one of those good fics (Guns and poems) and I'm doing a four part arc of the six months between the games and I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for Ashley's arc. I have alot of characters arcs planned out but it's hard for her because there's no hints in game like htere was for her becoming an LC and being up for Spectre status when ME3 was announced.survivor_686 wrote...

Just because I can understand it doesn't mean it's not frustrating.
I think the Alliance, or at least most Alliance officials, would react the same way when Ashley presents her evidence, btw. And in my head canon, she actually spent time between ME1 and ME2, and again between ME2 and ME3, gathering evidence for Anderson, so she was involved with the Council, to a degree.

Oh, I never said I didn't understand why the Council reacts the way they do. I actually understand perfectly - there's not a lot of evidence, and they're being asked to believe something that's, frankly, quite amazing.

When combined with her "williams" heritage that would have put quite a dampner on anything she said. Yet it appears that she has been promoted twice within those periods..

If I had to guess? I'd say her promotions are because Hackett and Anderson like her, believe her about the Reapers, and can see that the "Williams" baggage is all BS.
I'm sure there are a small number of others in the Alliance brass who feel the same way, partly because I'm sure she earned a name for herself once she was given a chance, and partly because some people would probably be swayed by Hackett and Anderson. So, even if a majority of the brass feels otherwise, I suspect she benefitted from the fact that, for the first time, she had allies in high places and people actually willing to give her a chance.

I'd imagine aswell that she benefits from Shepard also seeing her as such a great soldier and so if he is given her commendations then that's gonna hold alot of sway.
