Yeah. I mean, I know you can make Shepard look kinda stupid depending on some of the questions he asks, but once you know the ME universe as well, you don't need to ask all of them every time.

I always thought Edwin Shepard seemed like someone who'd at least have a bachelors degree, and would have enjoyed being in school. Kinda messed me up when I realized how it's problematic to make the timeline work.

I agree, Ash would do well in class, but I'm not sure how much patience she'd have for school after graduating from High School. She seems more like an "action" person than a "sit in class" person.

I submit here and now that my headcanon says that Shepard and Ashley are secretly Marvel fans, and whenever they actually get a chance to go to a convention they dress up as Hawkeye and Black Widow. Shepard trained in archery as a kid because he liked the solitary sniper and found it a good passtime on his mother's long cruises, Ashley is surprisingly agile after climbing and spending all her time playing around and practising Parkour on Amateratsu. She can actually similar stunts to Black Widow though not to the same degree.

Both Commanders identify with the characters because they're just regular humans with high skillsets that have been tossed into an overly extrodinary world and they have an unspoken bond with one another.

Anyone got a problem with that?

Indeed DWH, I always think of Ash as someone who would rather be doing something than sitting around. Plus if the military was always on the cards for her then she was probably excited to be able to leave High School and join up as soon as possible. She's only 25 (I'm lead to believe) at the start of ME1 so if she'd already been in the military for a while obviously University/College wasn't on the cards for her.

@DWH

To be truthfully, Shepard probably has those qualifications, even if he doesn't need them. The Trope websites list him as a 'Genius Bruiser', in verse, he's able to come up with very creative plans or third options. Even if you don't intend to play him like that. He's actually quite a smart guy, even smarter as an tech. Not to mention very cultured too. He's read up on Machiavelli, Thomas Hobbs and alot of other philosophies which he referrenced throughout the series.

Edwin Shepard likes classical music. Ash thinks it's okay, but could never understand why he liked it so much.

Eventually he told her that he used to listen to it with his father on Mindoir, when his father came back in the evening from working the farm. His father told him how important it was because it had been around for so long, and it "connected everyone that every listened to it, and everyone who ever will."

Ash and Shepard both like fast food more than they should. Fortunately they have enough will power to stay away from it so they can stay in shape, but they both enjoy "letting themselves go" every once and awhile and pigging out on it.

Ash also has a thing for soda, and she has a harder time staying away from that. Edwin Shepard prefers ice tea.

Both like cheesey sci-fi and action films, though they'd never admit it to anyone else on the squad. They were both pretty happy when they found their shared love there.

Of course, they're also both fans of poetry. Posted Image

I have two split headcanons but the one thing my Shepards have in common, all of them read The Divine Comedy and carry a balisong. My Para-Shep's belong to his father, My Rene-Shep's belonged to the only person whom he ever admired (before joining the military) and took that person's name 'John Shepard' to honor them.

Para-Shep, post Death,  Pre-rez - Ash inherits the knife and begins conciously using it. She tries to return it to Shepard but he refuses politely.

Rene-Shep, five minutes or so before the Normandy's destruction - Ash finds the knife in her personal belongings along with a note explaining it's importance. Considering my Rene-Shep's personalities and a ruthless, silent and cold individual, leaving it to her is a grander gesture than saying 'I love you'. It says 'I trust you with the thing that's kept me alive.'

Can someone please post me the order I have to do the missions to get Ash on the bomb mission again in ME3, I know it's been posted on here so much but I really can't be bothered reading through all those pages to try and find it. And any suggestions for other missions where Ash has good lines (again I know it's been posted before)

I think it's:
Rescue the son
Cure the genophage
Citadel 2
Bomb.

Yeah, I can't stand to do the missions in that order. It screws up the story flow.

I do, however, plan to wait until I have Ash to do the Rachni missions in future playthroughs.

Well then is there any great advantage to her dialogue? Or should I stick with the flow of the game?

I've never seen her dialouge. If people say it's quite good, maybe you should give it a try. Decide if it's worth interrupting the natural flow in future playthroughs based on that..

Yeah. Right up until the very end of ME3, when he seems to lose that ability entirely. Posted Image

Three is one giant wreak that wittles away at Shepard's willpower, by that point he's fatigued, probably bleeding to death and watched/forced to shoot his mentor/father figure and then watched them die. Yeah, his willpower has been completely shattered at that point. But, yes, there should have been an out for people who ground away at Multiplayer and had 10k+war assets.

Edwin Shepard was a fatigued, bleeding wreck by the end of the Skyllian Blitz. But he still kept his wits enough to hold the line.

I agree, there should have been a way out. As far as MP is concerned, though... No ending should rely on multi-player. I don't use it, and I don't want to use it. ME has been a single player game longer than it's had multiplayer, and we were specifically promised that you woudn't need multiplayer to get any of the endings.

Yea the fact you need to use MP to get the high enough EMS seems stupid to me and it should never be something that is a necessity to get the best ending for Shepard. But I have heard alot of rumours that you don't actually need MP, but then when I say that people tell me you do so I'm badly confused. I just want Ash and Shepard to be together is that asking so much???

My fear is that the EC will have a scene where you reunite with Ash, but that you'll only be able to get enough EMS to see it with multiplayer.

On the other hand, I'd have at least a little hope with that - because I'd be willing to buy DLC missions again, and some of those might add war assets.

And, we were promised sixteen endings, where are the other thirteen?

But has Shepards voice actor been brought back in for the DLC? If not then Shepards involvement will be very small or non-existant which means there might not be a re-uniting scene or hope for a potential future between the two

I'm honestly not sure. I thought I heard something about the Shepard voice actors coming back, but I can't find it now, and I'm not 100% sure I'm remembering correctly.

Well I may have to stick my head in the sand and make up what happens at the end. My first run through Shepard didn't survive but I'm determined this time he will, I have a few free days of xbox gold from some other games so if i HAVE to use them to get Shepard to surive at the end I will. Ashley and Shepard will be together even if it kills me!

I'm making up everything that happens after Anderson/TIM.

I'll only stop if the EC gives me a reunion, and I can get it without multiplayer. And, honestly, even then - I might take off my headphones and imagine the whole scene with Star Brat plays out differently.

Well in my second run through I think I may have to play some MP but after this if I play through the trilogy any more I might have to just stop after Anderson and TIM and live in sweet ignorance but we'll see what happens with the EC and if it gives us anything to cheer about.
