@DWH1982 it's because we understand Shepard better than ash, don't forget Shepard can be anything where Ashley isn't. I'm still working on the hospital scene, I really wanted to go in depth but my girlfriend wants my Shepard to be mushy, she is trying to convinced me with her cooking but I just starve so I can win, (I think I made my Shepard mushy without her help anyway).

To be fair, (discounting the crappy last hour of the game) after the whole war's done, do you honestly see them turning out any different?

Alot of **** went down in that war. Shepard copped a huge amount of it (and arguably started it), but everyone got screwed up a bit. I think the brewerys are gonna be set for a generation or two after the Reaper war's conclusion.

No. I think every single one has his or her own ways to cope with the horrors of war and the constant danger of getting killed every day. So yeah - some may drink a bit more, others become "Javik light". But in general, the Normandy crew (including all survivors of ME1, ME2 and ME3) is one big family - best friends forever?

I think that scene is about the only time we geniunely see Shepard happy too. (No, I'm not saying this as a fangirl.) That is of course until the nightmare about the kid kicks in. You know, I actually don't mind the child anymore.

Shepard's been in lock down for about six seven months, and his room views the kid's house. So he's watched him play occasionally for a few months. Maybe Shepard's just bored, fazed out or just watching because he thinks that it's really cute and is reminded of himself at that age. It's not the first time he's seen the kid play. The boy's really sweet, innocent and full of life, Shepard knows that. So when Shepard saw the shuttle get destroyed it upsets and distresses him because he hoped the child would survive.
