^ Well, I'd be too.

Ashley is the only fictional woman that makes me happy.
Bad: she makes me more happy than my fiancee.
Worse: I wish she were real.
Worst: And I would date her ... ^^

How couldn't you be happy!

CptData, you might want to keep that secret from your fiancee lol

Ash is definately my favourite female character in film/tv/book/games she just combines everything I love in a woman and she is helped in no small part by Kimberly Brooks voice acting, flawless. Just a pity there wasn't more of it

I wish we got to have her on the squad in ME2.

As much as I enjoy ME2, I think what they did with that game was a mistake. I think you should have had all of your squad from ME1, minus Wrex (either dead or on Tuchanka, where his role is more important), then added only a handful of new squad members.

If they wanted to, they could have even played it so that the VS is away for most of the game, but you keep crossing paths with them, maybe even get to work with them on a mission or two, before they join your crew for the last few missions. That would give players who want to move on to Miranda or one of the new squad members the chance to "form an attachment while the VS is away," while the rest of us would have the chance to stay loyal.

I don't know I like the new squad in ME2, as well as some old faces. I actually didn't mind not having Ashley in ME2 cause of her own missions she was doing and how she was so much against Cerberus, she would never have come with you as long as your role in ME2 was to work with them.

Don't get me wrong I would have loved to have her and to be able to be with her before the Collector Base would have been nice so you could start straight into your relationship in ME3. But not having her in ME2 made me more excited to play ME3 cause I was so looking forward to see her again.

I think the way to handle ME2 wouln't have been to have Shepard realize he was working for Cerberus (which makes no sense at all for a paragon Shep, btw).

Someone else laid out this idea elswhere on the BSN. Basically, you'd be taking missoins from the Council, but they either don't want to deal with the Reapers or refuse to accept that they exist. They want you to clean up the last remaining pockets of the geth that are outside of the veil.

At the same time you're trying to do this, you bump into Miranda, who claims to be with "Alliance Intelligence." She puts you in touch with TIM, who also claims to be with that organization - and he offers missions that are relevant to the Reapers. The catch is, doing a Reaper mission costs you the chance to do a geth mission. So, you either have to find a balance between keeping the Council and TIM happy, or just say screw it, and pick one over the other. On top of those missions, you also have recruiting missions to put together a crack team (newcomers would perhaps be paired down to Miranda, Jacob, Thane, Mordin, and Legion) and their loyalty missions, though recruitment and loyalty missions would not "cost" you the chance to do any other missions.

In the end, you have a situation similar to what was going on in the Arrival DLC, and your ability to handle it without losing squad members depends on how much time you spent successfully investigating the Reapers. However, if you spent all of your time on the Reapers, you effectively alienate the Council, which puts you in a worse position going in to ME3.

At some point in the game, you also find out that Miranda and TIM are Cerberus, not Alliance Intel, forcing you to make choices there, and so on. Of course, this is all a very rough idea that also doesn't account for the impact of certain factors, such as if you have a human dominated Council led by Anderson (which would almost certainly believe you on the Reapers). But I think it would have been an interesting approach for ME2.

EDIT: You are right, though. Even if I wish ME2 had been done differently, I did enjoy the dynamic of "coming back to Ash" after all that time away from her. Which makes me think that, as much as I was bitter about not having Ash DLC, maybe it was better we didn't.

I just wish there were more meat to the Shepard-Ash relationship in ME3. Posted Image

Well, at least those trolls and drunkyards are funny.

Not as funny as they should be - 90% of lulz comes from Garrus. And he is not troll nor drunkard.

CptData wrote...

Today trolls and drunkyards are usually our leaders and wreckin' Europe, USA and stuff.

You know what all that reminds me? Tropico. El Presidente and all that.

Yeah, sure, she hates them so much so she protected one against her former commander and his team, included old comrade in arms. Posted Image

DWH, I suppose that could be an alternative and some of that does sound pretty good like choosing between Geth or Reapers and if you end up helping the Alliance or Cerberus. But I loved ME2 as it is and personally I think it is up there as one of my top 3 favourite games so I don't know if I'd change anything. Smaller, more personal squad maybe but apart from that I love the game.

I even liked the mission on Horizon and meeting Ashley again, I thought they did her reaction very well and then following that up with apologizing in her email. I was gutted first time I played it cause I thought you'd end up getting her back on your squad like you did with Tali and Garrus so when she told me she couldn't and was angry with me I couldn't believe it

Yeah... I think not getting Ash back in ME2 was unpleasant for all of us.

The main thing that bugs me about ME2, really (aside from being railroaded into working for Cerberus) is how irrelevant the Collectors and the Dark Matter foreshadowing seem for ME3 now. If they had stuck with the original plan for the series, ME2 would make a lot more sense.

How friendly is she with me? Because that's a very relevant factor.

Depending on that, we might not leave the apartment... Posted Image

Well the romance would obviously be nice but I'm gonna try and be more maturePosted Image

I'd get our guns out and try a bit of shooting with her, even though I'm a decent shot i imagine she'd kick my ass but it'd be great fun.
After that maybe go up to the coast and take a nice walk along the beach, or we'd sit and play Mass Effect all dayPosted Image. 24 hours isn't really a long time so is there any point trying to build a relationship? If not I might just agree with DWHPosted Image

In all honesty? As much as I like Ash, I'm not sure we'd have that much in common, or that she'd really want to hang out with me.

I agree, shooting seems like something she'd enjoy doing. But I've never held a gun in my life. I guess she could try to teach me, but I'm not sure how well that would go... Posted Image

I think she's someone who probably enjoys outdoor activities, like bike riding, hiking, or rock climbing. Rock climing is off the table, as far as I'm concerned, but we could go bike riding or hiking. If she were visiting me in D.C., I think there are some decent bike trails in the area.

Some of the museums might also have things she's interested in, especially military history exhibits, or some of the stuff at the Air and Space museum. She might like the Pentagon tour, as well... Posted Image

EDIT: If we're sticking with my Ashley "head canon" and she has a thing for fast food, there are a lot of really good places to eat around here. By "good," I mean "really bad for you food, that's really, really good to eat anyway." So that would also be an option.

Since my "head canon" Ashley likes cheesey action and sci fi movies, that's also an option, if any are playing.

Airlock two storey up, 50 metres towards the bow, on port side. Don't forget to close the door and dim the lights behind you. Thanks in advance.

speaking of sci fi movies/games, do you think your "head canon" Ashley would like the metal gear solid series?

Let's say she's very friendly towards you.

In that case, I might concur. Without my fiancee, I would spend that entire day as close as possible to Ash. Maybe some nice talks about everything, her wishes, desires ... I'd love to snuggle with her and maybe something more intimate. And of course: a dinner just her and me, gazing into each other's eyes.

And then I wish I could stop time so that day never ends.

On second thought I think it's irrelevant, since I'm, as you westerners say - taken. Posted Image
