@Rudy
All charm of Gagarin in his smile. I hope you remember dialog with Shepard and Garrus about reach and flexibility. Remember that smile??? :D

Hah, I don't know how I wrote that. XD

Ha-ha! :'D This is hilarious!

So, what do you think about wedding of Shepard and Ashley? How it would look like? :)

@Rudy, Ugh I give up

@Td, you make alot of good points, as someone who romanced Ash though I just can't help feel the most sorry for her for loving and losing him twice

@Ushanka, would it maybe be the biggest wedding the galaxy has seen? First two human Spectres and two people responsible for stopping the Reapers AND anything with Shepard is gonna be huge! Would be funny to see Ashley's side of friends and family beside Shepards which would probably consist mostly of aliens, it makes me laugh to think of the scene

I always recieved the impression that Shepard approached 'love' for Ash very close to half-way, three-quarters way through ME1.

That could be easily explained. For example, he is Aries, so he could be straightforward, yet relatively cautious. So his "reserved" approach could be just "reconnaissance", or (as dictionaries suggestPosted Image) putting Ash through her paces - to evaluate whether that woman worthy of breaking rule against fraternization and any other possible regulations or not. When it becomes clear she is (or he just don't gives a **** anymore - he's dead)...

Not sure for stoic individual - he just could keep two sides of personality - cold officer's head and warm "family man".

Yes, pretty much this. If in case with Miranda it is possible to imagine her finding some work to distract her enough, with support from someone, relatively close to her and Shepard, but I cannot imagine anyone else close enough for Jack.

I know, I have his portrait, right below JMB.

How could you forget something like that? Shepard's face was almost ripped in half!

I think of something private, "friends only".

So it's just personal preference, nothing else.
And no, I'm not saying it is bad, quite the contrary, your attachment to Ashley deserves some admiration.

Well saying as this is the Ashley Williams thread I imagined it would be the general consensus

Obsessed dahellraider? Now who is that aimed atPosted Image

I don't feel as attached as some on here but the previous discussion was simply about feeling sorry for Ash after Shepards second death I don't know why it diverted from that

@ Rudy: I told you I want an Ash-lookalike INCLUDING her character.

In short: I should move to USA and get a marine!girl. Well, I could date Erica Cerra or Michelle Rodriguez ... *g*
Bet I have a good chance with those ladies. After all ... hell, even 17y old girls give me sexy!eyes. Not that I'm interested, but it gives a great ego boost :D

No, no ... I want Ashley. This amazing woman ... the greatest challenge in my life.

At least I don't try to imagine how Ashley's sweat tastes and I also don't try to figure out how our children may look like *g*

Ash:

1. What's with the makeover?
2. Wait, why did you get drunk?
3. Why the sudden change of heart about Cerberus?
4. Why, if you were so jealous of Liara BEFORE we were together, does me being with Tali now not seem to bother you at all?

Things I wish my Shepard could have asked Ashley Williams in Mass Effect 3, in order of most wished. Alas...

1. She had make up on in ME1.
2. Because she was going through a hard time with her sister and also trying to cope with the loss of her brother-in-law?
3. No change of heart on Cerberus. She just believes Shep is the same person as before, and that Cerberus bringing him/her back from dead didn't mess up his/her mind.
4. The only reason Ash was "jealous" of Liara, was because you were playing both at the same time. Why would she be bothered and make scene of it? If you made it CLEAR you're with Tali.

I wish my Shepard could've asked her what she'd done these past couple of years...

I love that line so much, especially the way Ash looks at him when he says it.

I equally love Liara's response:

Liara: *sounding annoyed* That is a terrible burden.

And some of the Liara people try to say she doesn't still have feelings if you don't romance her... Posted Image

Agreed. I also wish my Shepard could ask her:

1. Why do you spend so much time on the observation deck? Why do you seem so distant?
2. Why don't you move into my quarters? Posted Image

I also wish Ash would ask Shepard about his time being dead. You'd think she'd be interested and all, given how there could be a religious element to it (the afterlife). And I wish we could see Ash ask Liara why she didn't get in touch to let her know what happened with Shepard's body.

Edit: Sorry for the double post. Meant to cut and paste this into an edit of my last post. Have an Ash pic to make up for it:

Why do I always miss the good discussions?

Rudy Lis wrote...

I had simple comparison table in my mind:
Ash                               Kaidan
Gunnery chief               First Lieutenant
25 y.o.                          31 y.o.
Grunt                             Biotic/Tech (harder to train and raise)
Less useful                     More useful
Has 3 sisters                  Only child (and during ME3 events - last of his line>increase priority to keep him alive)

0                                    5

That's all.

Last time I played ME1, I sent Kaidan with the Salarian team since he's Staff Lieutenant. Ash stayed with the bomb, and when I had to make a decision, I doubled back to the bomb site to make sure it went off.

Ashley saved!

Project Phoneix - Shepard's Characterization voting ends today! Results, Background and Decision recap on Monday.

I love the way Ash looks at Shepard when he says that, because you can tell what he said effects her, and I feel like you can tell, deep down inside, she wants to trust him. She really does. She's just struggling with everything that's happened, and needs to be convinced that she can.

Mars in general was a very well done mission. I have a sneaking suspicion that it must have been one of the first missions in the game that they worked out, because it doesn't have the rushed feel of some of the others. Instead, it has this great combination of exploration, action, story, and gameplay.

Yea DWH, it does feel alot better done than most of the other missions which as you said makes it feel like it was one of the first they did because they really seemed to commit to it.

It was when Shepard says that and he looks at Ashley that I really believed that the two of them would be able to make up and get back together. Obviously I thought that would always be on the cards throughout the game but it was that scene that really made me feel like it would happen and I thought it was really well done

Mars is probably one of my favorite missions in the entire trilogy, btw:

Noveria (ME1)
Mars (ME3)
Tuchanka Missions (ME3)
Geth/Quarian missions (ME3)
Feros (ME1)

Oddly, even though I think that, as a Mass Effect game, ME3 is generally the weakest in the trilogy, it actually produced 3 of my 5 top favorite missions! Posted Image

That's the thing about ME3. It has real problems with some of the missions feeling rushed, with autodialouge, with certain story elements not being wrapped up convincingly... But when it does do things right, it really knocks the ball right out of the ball park.

Yea it is a pity that more time wasn't dedicated to it cause it could have been unbelievable but sadly the general feeling is simply that it was rushed. The autodialogue actually winds me up the most cause I hate having my discussions with Ashley, or anyone else, decided for me and so I don't have full control over what I want to say. But yea Mars all in all has to be one of the top missions of the trilogy.

I do have. :P
But must admit I'm extremely tempted by challenging women. And who's more challenging than a woman that does not exist? *g*

No, seriously: Ashley is -perfect- in more than one way. She got flaws, but none of them damage her - they seem to make her more authentic and that's -perfect- for a fictional character.

Besides that, I always feel attracted to educated, strong and impossible to get women. I know my chances are next to zero, but a man has dreams and I have plenty of them. Some are named "Ashley"

Ugh. Ash not talking to anyone or even coming out of the observation deck really annoys me.

Bioware: “You're not injured anymore! Your important bit in the story is over, now go sit in there, and be quiet.”

That's what it felt like. There's only a 50% chance of Ash surviving passed Virmire, then in ME3 she's put on the chopping board a second time. Guess Bioware didn't want to waste their resources on someone who isn't guaranteed to be alive. I'm sending her with Hackett next time around (I heard you get a meaningful e-mail if you do).

Guess my next Shep will be… FOREVER ALONE. :'(

Well, it kinda depends on PoV.

Storywise, ME1 is still the best one. It sets up the story and comes with a quite positive mood. The side missions are not connected to the main plot but help to make the game more alive. Too bad old tech feels old.
ME2 is the weakest part of the trilogy in this field since its main story arc is quite short and the player gets distracted too often by secondary objectives.
And ME3 has a quite decent main story arc but lacks any fluff. Also this part has least freedom to decide anything (few MAJOR decisions but no MINOR choices) and the endings are awful.

Gameplaywise, ME2 and ME3 are pretty much at same level while ME1 lacks a decent combat engine. Also, as much as I enjoyed the exploring feature, the worlds looked boring in ME1 and the side missions felt too generic.

Characterwise, ME1 and ME2 are on a similar level while ME3 damages certain characters and introduces useless, shallow characters. I'd say, ME3 fails most here and it shows.

Ashley: "Stand strong, stand together" ... *smirks* that's my Skipper.
Shepard: I asked Hackett to use that line when we're ready to attack the Reapers.
Ashley: *smiles* He'll make good use of it. And you - do you feel ready?
Shepard: More than ready, Ash. Three long years - I'm glad I hadn't to go through all this without you. Just want one more thing ...
Ashley: And that is?
Shepard: I want a future. A future without the Reapers - a future with you. That's all I want. Ash ... I'm a broken man ... I saw death, I even died. I saw enough war for the rest of my life ...
Ashley: Skipper ... I know. This is it. Just one more battle - the last one. I'm proud of you. Everyone is - and you deserve a rest. Once this is over, I want to stay with you and follow wherever you go ...
