What the heck happened? Kaiden has so much more content than Ash. He moans less, and is far more useful in combat. Sentinel with an Assault rifle? Yes please.

BW hates Ash. That happened ...

Well, I love her.

Ugh, I know. I've played through with both as well. There's a difference.
Seriously, if Ash wasn't my love interest - there is no way I would have her alive. She sucks in ME3. The only thing that is good is the final romance scene, mars and the first hospital scene when she's knocked out. Everything inbetween sucks balls.
She had the content to make her better... it just wasn't used.

Oh I'm definitely not saying they'd all have it worse than Ash. Having a Shep that romanced her, I know that she'd have trouble dealing with losing him a second time as well. You can tell on Horizon (even if you didn't romance her) that she took Shep's death hard. Even more so if she was romanced. He meant everything to her, then got taken away and she struggled to deal with it. Then to see him working with the enemy? Can't blame her for needing a lot of time to adjust to him coming back. Then, just as soon as they put it all behind them, to have him taken away again? It almost looks as though the "Williams Curse" changed from preventing promotions in the military to taking away your loved ones (see Sarah getting married and shortly thereafter having her husband KIA).Dannycni wrote...
@Td, you make alot of good points, as someone who romanced Ash though I just can't help feel the most sorry for her for loving and losing him twice

I've just started my third FShep back with ME (whom I named Katniss- yes I'm a fan of The Hunger Games). I have been thinking of saving Kaidan (though only if I paired them together), but I'm not sure I can bring myself to leave Ash on Virmire. Saving him just to have a Sentinel in my ME3 squad wouldn't be a good enough reason. All 5 of my Sheps have been Soldiers in ME, but I've realized I love playing a Sentinel and could just switch Katniss' class in ME2.

Besides, I continue to feel that what's there isn't all that bad. There just needs to be more. More scenes, and more depth for her character.

With Ashley's survival rate on Virmire being extremely higher over Kaidan it doesn't make sense that she would have such a lack of content.

I'm not familar with the survival rate. Are there official figures on that?
What you have to keep in mind is that a lot of people don't like either of them. Which I'm guessing is why Bioware felt the "need" to allow them another chance to kill off the VS, then give them the opportunity to refuse to bring them along if they do survive.
What kills me is the people who moan about Ashley telling them that she "hopes the Reapers send you to hell" if they shoot her during the coup. If your Shepard is enough of a d*ck that he can't get Ash to trust him, he deserves every word of what she says to him.
EDIT: I acutally sometimes wonder if the whole point of the VS role in ME3 was to get the people who hate them to hate them more. Don't get me wrong, I liked the drama of talking Ash down in the coup scene, and I actually have respect for the fact that she was trying to do her job. But sometimes I feel like Bioware partly set that up to further enflame the whole "OMG ASH AND KAIDAN SUCK" crowd.

I still have to laugh at the people moaning about that. "She told me to go to hell! The b*tch!"
...
Well… yeah. You just shot her?
About the lack of dialogue... It annoys me because Ashley HAD the content, it was there, wrote and recorded. Bioware just couldn’t be bothered putting it in the game. EA rushed them.
Have any of you guys encountered all those bugs and glitches in your games? Like Ashley's eyes rolling back, her head not looking in Shepard's direction? The cut-off dialogue during the date scene (which makes no sense?), ect.
There's so many things that kill the setting. It cries out, "rushed game" to me.

BW said something like 85% of players saved Ashley over Kaidan. The VS really should of gotten a bigger role. As much as I love Ashley, besides moral support and the romance her role on the ship was pointless. You just had the most passionate night of your lives and all she has is "Hey Commander". I really hoped Ash would of gotten more but I must admit the Ash we saw on Mars was when she was at her best.

Come on now. Everyone knows that the proper response form Ash should have been, "Shepard, I'm sorry I got in the way of your bullet!"

Honestly... I just did the date scene in my second playthrough today, and I noticed the cut off dialouge for the first time. I assumed there was an issue with my computer (which is below the minimum reccomended specs, and sometimes has issues). Maybe I assumed the same thing the first time around, which is why I forgot about it.
I am dismayed to learn that that's the way it is in the game. I'd hope for a fix from Bioware, but I really doubt we have much of a chance for that.
And, yes, whatever Bioware says, the game just has a "rushed" feel to it. I can't help but wonder if it would be any different if instead of putting together an extra team for multi-player, they took those same people and put them on the SP game.

I read an article a few days ago that was tweeted out by the official ME twitter and it contained quotes from the writers of Traynor and Cortez and I was frankly astonished as to how much effort they put into two brand new characters just because they were gay.
Whatever.
Dont hate, Traynor is awesome. Cortez is as well just less awesome than Traynor

I think they should have made Vega the male same sex LI. Would have just worked better for me, I think. Just my opinion though. I know some people do like Cortez.
