Virmire is a big-game changer for my Shepard as well. It makes him realize some things.

I think that's when both him and Ashley stop playing, and decide that they have something real, and Kaidan died for it.

My Shepard's reasoning was to secure the AA tower team. With that team secure (STG, Kirahee and Ash) we could make a push back to the bomb and secure it. Kaidan was an officer, I felt he could lead the men long enough for me to return...Then Saren showed up.

This is my line of thought. Kaidan's the other officer, therefore he had more responsibility.

Well, I hope we can contact him. If we can pull the stunt with our project. I definitely want to see at least ONE harcopy handed to him with a dedication of Ashley's fans.

Just my idea ... but I really love to see that.

Actually, I simply want three copies:

One for Chris L'Etoile
One for Kimberly Brooks
And one for Bioware

Dunno if that ever is going to happen 'though B)

It's slow going right now. Horse and Buggy speed. At the rate we're moving now, we won't finish until Fall. Many holes to figure out and fill. And, much of the base lore regarding Ashley in non-sensical and inconsistent...

Big time hurdles.

It would be easier if more than a handful would contriubute to discussion. Thirty-eight members and only about ten regularly participate.

Only 15 voted in the first poll.

*Tsk Tsk.

The thread is slowing down. Maybe some Ash will help spice things up a bit.

Poor Kaidan. I really like him, but he has yet to live in any of my ME playthroughs.

Yeah, nothing against Kaidan, but I'm too attached to Ashley to save him. Even my FSheps all save Ash.

The thread is still too slow. Ash went off to have fun somewhere else.

I like Ash with her hair down, but I think I actually preferred the way Ash's body looked in ME1.

I agree Data.

And.. no garrus in that pic? ): How can you not let Garrus onboard, but allow Wrex? lol

Got sent a link, and was looking through some Mass Effect quotes. Found some old goodies, and ones I haven’t even heard before:

Ashley: Are you okay, Tali? It looked like you got some dirty looks back there.
Tali: Many think less of quarians for traveling in the flotilla, and for creating the geth. They see us as scavengers, little better than thieves.
Ashley: That is sort of what I’d heard about your people. I guess you’re not in any one place long enough for people to get to know you.

Ashley: So, Liara, you’ve spent fifty years studying Prothean ruins and artifacts?
Liara: Our travels now are somewhat different from my normal excavations. I would prefer lengthier studies… and fewer explosions.
Ashley: I think you’ve spoken for scientists everywhere, Liara.

Garrus: I’m surprised to see you on the front lines, Chief Williams. Most women I’ve observed in your Alliance military serve in support roles.
Ashley: It’s becoming more common, but it took a long time to prove that “ladies” could handle an assault rifle or a shotgun.
Garrus: I doubt anyone who saw your skill under fire could remain skeptical.

And some of my favourites:

Shepard: Shut up and get over here.
Ashley: Make me.

Ashley: Young men have funny ideas of what asari are like. I blame the extranet. And computer games. (lol so true)

Ashley: A million light years from where humanity began and we walk into a bar filled with men drooling over half-naked women shaking their asses on a stage. I can’t decide if that’s funny or sad.

Did anybody take Ashley to the Asari monastery in ME3? When they're in a dark room, and Shepard hears a loud "clank" and he's like: "I heard something." then Ashley replies with: "Woops. That was me, sorry." I laughed. =)

Exactly, Y4E. You got it.

We need something like that too. I even have a style for that:

That scheme should work - just with a more "recruiting" meaning ^^

Who takes it?

Staring contest. Javik approves.

Ash....
Shepard:...
Ash:....
Shepard:....
Ash: Ready to give in yet?
Shepard: Not on your life.
Ash: I think I can make you blink.
Shepard: Ash... Putting your hand there isn't playing fair!

Ashley is a skilled Marine, but, I bet the Alliance started accepting female grunts because they needed to bolster numbers. Recruting sounds like a problem in Revelations, and the Alliance is spread too thin across the Frontier.

When push came to shove, they allowed women to serve on the front lines. My educated guess.

It seems odd that the Alliance wouldn't start out allowing women to serve on the front lines, given that there seems to be a trend towards that in many countries today.

Female Marines can't be grunts in the USMC at the moment, so I've heard.

Which is why I said there's a trend towards allowing them to serve on the front lines, not that they're on the front lines everywhere.

There is still a ban on direct-combat positions. Front line service is a ways off, if it happens. I don't know that we will see it in our generation.

You know, that it's a shame to be killed by woman on war? Well, at least in arabian culture. :)

Yeah, but ME1 takes place in 2183 - 171 years in the future.

It may not happen in our generation, but I don't think it will take so long that it's still a "new" thing 171 years down the road.

Future is unclear. Maybe after 100 years general language on Earth will be Chinese. So, it's hard to say.

With her on the squad (don't take Liara) for the monastery, investigate the broken elevator. She sasses you big time.

Every other Commonwealth country has a gender-blind policy regarding front-line combat service (aka: Canada, Britain, Australia, India). General school of though is that if you're good enough to pass the training, you're good  enough for the fight, gender be damned.

So yeah with the Systems Alliance being a reflection of the entirety of Earth, I'd say women are pretyt much integrated into every combat role. Also check out Lieutenant Durand in ME1.
