Youth4Ever: must admit I lost track after a while.
Defending Ash is wearing me down ... and given the fact IRL is not running that well either ... well, I try to keep myself in a good shape to stay here with you guys.

@ Iliya ... nice idea.
Hell, with Ash you can do everything. She's the best friend you never had. So to speak. =)

Stay classy, Ash. Stay classy.

And stop looking at me like that. It makes my belly tingling.

The "Is Ashley Still Your Girl" thread was the worst. They were swaping detailed opinions on how Ashley would nail Shepard to the cross at the trial held by the defense committee on Earth when called to testify. They believed she hated Shepard enough to character assassinate him, and seal his stay in federal prison, without hesitation.

Which is really another reason why we should have started the game with a trial.

Seriously. Ash wouldn't have been in any position to testify either way about the stuff Shepard did with Cerberus, but she would have been insistant that the Reapers were real. And she could definately tell them that he defended Horizon against the Collectors.

That probably wouldn't have done any good anyway. Even if they got a chance to see Ash testify, insist that the Reapers are real and back Shepard up about his defense of Horizon, the Ash haters would find something else to harp on. Like, "SHE WOULDN'T DEFEND EVERYTHING HE DID WITH CERBERUS" (because, you know, she's totally qualified to testify on stuff she wasn't around for) or something like that. Posted Image

Okay, I won't forget.

My ultimate dream team for ME3 is:

Ashley & Kaidan (both alive).
Vega
Jacob
WREX
Liara
Garrus.
And Miranda for some tension. But Ashley and Miranda would easily get on better than Garrus and Miranda.

Tali would've been a temporary squad mate on Rannoch, then got back to her admiral duties afterwards. Hello? She shouldn't have just left like that - but that’s what popularity does.

In fact, they all would've played the same role. Except Jack would’ve had at least another mission or two, and EDI wouldn't have a sexy body.

And I like all squadmates, so I want ALL them back, but I think that there is not enough place on the Normandy for them. :)

I honestly think that most of the ME2 squadmates were meant to have a mission where they were "temporary" squad members. Like Anderson on Earth.

I think the idea got cut due to time/resource constraints, and we ended up with what we have instead.

This is just another suspicion of mine. But given what we saw with Anderson on Earth (and honestly, with Liara in LotSB, which felt like an experiment with the idea), it feels like they were trying to set us up for something like that - a game where you get to work with a wide range of your former teammates, only on a temporary basis. But after Anderson, you just don't have temp squad mates anymore.

Ash is my favorite squadmate! :) But I agree that is sad that you can't save both Ash and Kaidan :crying:

It's a shame Jack doesn't reappear as a temp (one mission or so) squadmate later in ME3.

I'd actually kind of like to hear squad banter between Jack and Ash as much as I would Ash and Miranda.

Not sure if Jack and Ash would get along any better, at least at first. Jack would probably just think Ash is as much of an "Alliance cheerleader" as Miranda is a "Cerberus cheerleader."

I think Jack would probably think of Ashley as the "girl scout" to Shepard's "boy scout"

In ME2 they wouldn't have gotten a long. But in ME3, they would.

EDIT: I think if Ashley knew what Cerberus had done to all those kids and Jack - she would hate them beyond measure. In ME2 I think Ashley would be smart enough to stay clear of Jack, and also remain wary. Jack is different in ME3, and I can see them getting along. After everything Jack has been through, Ashley might even admire her strength.

I thought that Pre ME3 Jack would have been a perminate squaddie due to the fact of her new design ingame....why spend reasources on a certain characters design only to have them appear for 10 mins plus i bet the banter between her and ash would be worth hearing.

I can just picture that perfectly when Ash speaks up in the shuttle or whatever on the way to a mission.

"What are you? Queen of the Girl Scouts?"

I got this, folks... *ahem*  (assuming this is ME3)

Ash:  Hey.
Jack:  Yeah?
Ash:  I wanted to ask you something.
Jack:  'Bout what?
Ash:  It's about Shepard.
Jack:  What about her?
Ash:  Considering your record, I'm curious at how Shepard was able to recruit you.
Jack:  You mean why I didn't just highack the Normandy and f*** s*** up in the Termins and Council Space?
Ash:  Yeah.
Jack:  *pauses for a moment*  At first it was so I could get as much about Cerberus as I could.  They're the ones that f***ed me over when I was a kid.  But... despite all I did, she went out of her way to help me... feh, f***ing girlscout.
Ash:  What did she do exactly?
Jack:  *pauses for another moment*  She didn't treat me like s***.  Ya know, like a human being?  Made me want to actually... be better.  That's why I volunteered at Grissom.
Ash:  *smiles a bit*  She does have that effect on people, doesn't she?
Jack: Pfft.  Yeah.  This one time, I was about to smear the Cerberus Cheerleader all over the walls of her perfect office, but then Shepard had to come along and break it up. ...b****.
Ash:  She must have had her work cut out for her.
Jack:  You don't know the half of it.  She had to spend a lot of her time making sure we didn't try to kill each other while we were hunting the Collectors.
Ash:  *raised eyebrow* Oh really?
Jack:  *smirks* Yeah.  Let me tell you, you know the Quarian girl?  Ya see, we picked up this Geth from a dead Reaper...

...and so on.

Wish Ash would give me that kiss to me ...
... and a date.
And another date.
And more kisses.

Well, let's stay with reality. I'll never find her *sobs into sleep*

Just want to let you guys know that as a fellow Ash fan, that I too appreciate this thread. It certainly feels like a sanctuary from the rest of the Ash-hating and griping about the ending. Whether the ending is fixed or not we will all have our own head canon.

Very good!

I also am working on a Jack/Ash dialouge. To be posted Friday. Posted Image

I have two for Friday, actually, though I think the Jack dialouge is shaping up a little better. The first, non-Jack dialouge just kind of goes nowhere.

It seems like the movement for a better ME3 ending has died down. I doubt we will ever get the ending we want now. I don't know because I like ME3 but I hate it at the same time, uhhhhhhh. At least BW is collecting my "feedback" but how can they accept it when they have "artistic integrity".

Sorry I just had to rant

You're in good company. Gameplay was awesome. Story was 99% crap.
BioWare has about as much "artistic integrity" as Lady Gaga. ME3 was all about being showy (visuals, graphics, gameplay), and did so at the expense of the story. And I think everyone knows it's all EA's fault ... South Park definitely nailed it with the crack baby basketball episode.

Am I the only one who gets sort of a "consoling Shepard" vibe out of this?

If it weren't for the bunned hair, I'd suggest it takes place after Thessia - Shepard is beaten, depressed, and Ash is making him feel better.

You're only human, Skipper. You did the best you could. Just close your eyes .Just close your eyes, and be with me tonight.

@DWH, is your Ashley/Jack dialogue gonna be with ME2 or ME3 Jack? Cause Jack died in my first run through on the suicide mission in ME2 but didn't in my renegade run through so today was first time I met her in ME3 and I was really surprised by how calmer and quiter she seemed to be. ME3 Jack I could actually see getting on really well with Ash but there would be definately be friction between them, I think, in ME2 sort of like between Jack and Miranda.

ME3 Jack. But after I wrote it, I realized it seemed more like ME2 Jack.

It needs tweaked, which is one more reason I'm waiting until Friday. Beyond the fact that I always like to save a longer dialouge or two (if I have them) for Friday.

As I said I was suprised how much Jack actually cared now and how close she was with her students it was actually kinda nice to see how she'd developed from following Shepard.
But then again they all change, look at what Ashley manages to achieve
It's you Ash, it's always been you
