Okay. I saw you had a nice long talk about the endings. I'll use this chance to get rid of my version - if you like.
Think it was DWH who brought up the fact you can't trust Starchild. And I comply. That kid is part of the system - and the system wants to preserve itself. The Reapers want to exist and that kid kinda acts as their Avatar.
That's why he wants to ensure the Reapers continue to exist. Out of three endings, two allow the Reapers to exist - and of course, both are displayed as the better alternatives to "Destruction". Right? Not if you think about it. Since it was done already, I won't do it again. Destruction Ending is the only ending for me.
And now something comes in play a lot of people ignore at this point: that kid is lying. He lies always to you, he doesn't want Shepard to act rational. He wants to manipulate Shepard.
That means, the kid also lies about the fate of the Geth. At least the game doesn't show their destruction. And EDI leaves the Normandy in the last moments of the game if you had her as your second favorite Squadmate, so she lives too.
What does this mean?
Destruction Ending with sufficient EMS will net you the destruction of the Reapers at the cost of the Relays. Since they're gone in all three endings, it's a no-brainer what decision you should pick. The Reapers are gone. EDI & the Geth could survive since the kid is lying. And Shepard survives too, if your EMS is high enough.
Time for Skipper to rescue Ashley ... ^^

Do you think Ash might move on (and with whom) if Shepard never can rescue her?

You know, sometimes I think that for Shepard better to not fell in love with someone. With this he don't bring pain into LI's soul.

Tell that reality. I'm pondering if and how to break up with a girl I still love so (and she thinks I'm the love of her life) ... figures, huh?Ushanka wrote...
Well, 50/50%. I think it would be hard for her. And I mean very hard...

Yeah, concur, Ash might have a rough time. She didn't take it well when Shepard died the first time, but another loss? Right after the "farewell talk"? It's heartwrenching to think about it

But I mean, that better not even start this relationships, because it can ends not happy. And this can bring only sufferings.

I dunno. As long as it lasts, a relationship is an amazing thing. As I said, I love my girl, but it's obvious she's not my "dream girl" anymore. She was. I'm still the dream guy for her ... which makes it extra difficult.
In case of Ashley and Shepard ... well, those two lovers fit perfectly. They have the right amount of everything and may stick together forever. And yeah, dunno if Ash can move on any time soon. I hope she's praying to God (for an atheist, that's a funny statement!) and waits until he returns.
Can imagine that reunion. Lots of tears ... emotions ... love.

Ashley is useless without hers. She said it herself. Her family is everything to her. Hell, back before 1, she took shoreleave just to walk her sister to school.
Both Shepard and Ashley need those connections. It ends like a Shakespearian fashion because Shepard is either dead, disingrated, absorbed, become an omniscient AI-Hybrid or crippled, and Ash is trapped on Gilligan planet...

I hope that BioWare still have little contact with fandom and they know the word "logic".

1. Dawn (Ash Specific)
Liberating Amateratsu from Cerberus operatives. A mainly fact-finding mission about a Sanctuary-like facility, very similar to Kasumi's loyalty mission in 2. You plant explosives, wiretaps, information jammers and so on throughout the facility and generally spend about an hour causing whatever kind of chaos you can. Ashley is with you, and in the last half of the mission, you find one of her sisters about to be 'intergrated' and transformed into a Nemisis. If you wait too long, the mission fails. If you save the sister, but she dies on the way to extraction, Romance with Ashley is terminated and she'll leave the Normandy to join Hackett. If the sister Survives, she will get a touching reunion with Ashley then charge Shepard (romanced or not) with looking after her. Que Shepard questioning which sister that was and asking if he should be worried about recieving an ass-kicking.
2. Liberation: Dusk (Kaidan specific)
Much the same as Ashley's though the location, layout of the facility and person of interest WILL chance. (Possibly to Kaidan's mother.) If Shepard is romanced, the mother will be thankful and tell you to look after her son and vice versa to Kaidan. If Shepard is platonic, Kaidan's mother will be thankful that her son knows some good people. If the mother dies, Kaidan will be pushed into 'death seeker' terrority and a rampage of revenge.
Results will affect the dialogue of the Cerberus raid.

Eventually. And I think Shepard would want her to. If he's dead, he'd want her to move on for sure. If he's alive, but can't get to her... I think he'd eventually decide it's better for her to be happy, and hope that she found someone, no matter where she is.
Not sure if he'd be able to move on, though. Edwin Shepard couldn't even think of cheating on Ash with Miranda, who's designed to be beautiful. Getting over Ash might be... difficult for him.
Fortunately, he doesn't need to. Because he's with her after the end.

If Ash somehow dies on that Inbreed planet, and Shepard is left alone in the end, I picture him becoming like Sean Connery's Allan Quatermain in his old age.
He would get so annoyed with people coming to talk with him about his adventures that he would have some drunk pretend to be him. And his name would be Conrad Verner.
Edit: Ya, Shepard wil become a drunk to boot.

@CptData: Does your idea involve a certain connection with her Grandfather?
If I can find out how to include it without violating the lore - yes.
Otherwise: no.
I don't have the book, may need to get a synopsis first.

That is my favorite scene of that movie, and Conrad is the perfect choice to play "fake" Commander Shepard.
Speaking of which, i wonder if Shepard really is dead then i wonder Conrad will try to take his place again. Now that he's got a REAL girlfriend(Jenna) i assume he'll want to do whatever he can to protect her.

Ash: Come on. Can't you just tell me where we're going?
Shepard: No. Keep your eyes closed.
Ash: It sounds like the Alliance Embassy.
Shepard: You don't know that.
Ash: Yeah, I do. I can hear the PA system. They just called Councilor Osoba to the Council chamber.
Shepard: You're hearing things.
(a little while later)
Shepard: Okay... open your eyes now.
(Ash opens her eyes, and finds herself in a conference room filled with her mother, sisters, and crewmates, including Garrus, Tali, Wrex, Joker, Edi, Vega, and Liara)
Entire room: Surprise!
Ash: I… I don’t know what to say. What’s this for?
Garrus: Come on. You didn’t think we were going to let you turn 30 without a party. Did you?
Tali: Shepard lets us know about these things.
Wrex: And we’re not going to pass on a chance for free food.
Ash: My birthday was over a month ago! Shepard, we even did something that evening.
Shepard: Exactly. Which is why you weren’t expecting this. Besides, none of our friends could come to that. And your Mom and sisters weren’t there.
Liara: It can be difficult for some of us to get away from our jobs.
Ash: This is sweet. I don’t know what to say.
Shepard: You don’t need to say anything, Ash. Just enjoy yourself. Tonight is about you.
