Edit: Yeah, I wrote a dialouge for a pic that Danny took down before I could finish. Posted Image

Ash:
Sometimes I worry that I'll never live down the fact that I pointed a gun at you.

Shepard: Ash... I've forgotten about it. I forgot about it the second I saw you at the Normandy's dock. Hell, I forgot about it the second after you stopped pointing the gun at me.

Ash: I heard that Joker had a few comments on it...

Shepard: Since when do you care what he thinks? Besides, he's in no position to judge. It's not like he ever, you know... got me killed or anything.

Ash: *smiles*

Shepard: There ya go.

*they kiss*

Shepard: Although, now that I think about it... I could really milk this. Maybe you're about to beat me at the shooting range? Well, maybe I mention that time you held a gun on me. Maybe you say you don't feel like coming up to my quarters? Well, maybe I mention that time you almost shot me. Posted Image

Ash:
Uh huh. So... Really, you're trying to get me to point a gun at you again. That it, Skipper?

Sheprad: Nah. You have that Revenant now. Probably better not to risk my luck.

Ash: Smart man.

*they kiss again*

Edit: Stupid double post. Not sure how that happened.

Eh, might as well take advantage.

I wonder how upset Ash would really be over pointing that gun at Shep. She actually mentions it at least once, so clearly it bothers her. But on the other hand, I also think she'd defend herself over the fact that she didn't know what was going on and was trying to do her duty.

Edwin Shepard isn't mad at her at all. He understands what was going on, and he actually respects her a little over the fact that she forced him to explain, that she didn't just automatically trust him. It was part of her job.

Oh, and Joker really is an ****. Edwin Shepard is a paragon, but I totally wanted the option to choke him to death after he makes that stupid crack about Ash "passing the don't shoot your CO test," or something like that.

Sorry, I spent 5 of my work hours reading Dilbert strips ...
So guess the idea of this "useless meeting" has something to do with that.

Dilbert is awesome. Can you draw the ME characters in that style too? :P

Well I do think it would be something that would play in Ashleys mind for a while and if they get back together then it might be something she thinks of even more because to have gone through that sort of thing with the man you are now with and love then you're gonna remember it and it'll probably bother you because you wonder why this man is with you even though you might of had to shoot him and it was you not him that was in the wrong (although she didn't know that).

But I also think that it isn't something Shepard will focus on, I honestly believe Shepard would forget about it asap because he doesn't view it as anything other than Ash doing her duty. That is what makes Ash, Ash and it is what makes her so attractive to Shepard because she isn't a sheep and Shepard has spent the last 3 years surrounded by people who just constantly agree with him, yes men basically, so Shepard actually enjoys and appreciates it when someone has the guts to question him, especially on the tough choices.

I could also see it coming up a few times in their future but I think Shepard would be happy to laugh it off and eventually Ashley would see that Shepard really isn't bothered by it anymore so she would finally put it behind her.

In my playthrough she looked somewhat upset about it. And during the date scene she clearly regrets that they were put in that situation. But I didn't even have to persuade Ash. That's how much she trusted my Shepard. ;)

This was in the leaked script. Ashley seems to be more worked up about the whole thing with this dialogue:

Ashley: Not exactly, Commander. I've been beached. I'm supposed to be "reassigned when an opportunity presents itself." They didn't say it, but it's pretty damn clear I failed them. Bodyguard, Spectre, whatever you call it, that career is over. And I don't want it, Skipper. If there's a place for me anywhere in this war, it's on the Normandy.
Shepard: From what I heard, you didn't fail the Council, Ash. You took charge when their security team got wiped.
Ashley: Please, that's sugarcoating it. I of all people should have seen the ambushes coming. It was... it wasn't good.
Shepard: You've been through a lot today, Ash. Combat stress, Udina, getting fired... I'm surprised you're still standing.
Ashley: I'm a Williams, sir. We may not always get it right, but we don't give up.
Shepard: You look a little shaken. Are you going to be all right?
Ashley: Is it that obvious? Great. There's Udina, of course. I mean, I've dropped the hammer before, but... I knew the guy. I remember waiting in his office. And saying I hate politicians, that's... it comes off as bloodthirsty. I mean, everyone hates politicians, you don't just cap them.
Shepard: Get your things and we'll find you a bunk. We'll be taking off soon.
Ashley: Aye-aye, Skipper. Uh... I'll be sleeping in the crew's quarters, right? Or is there a... never mind.
Shepard: What?
Ashley: Stupid question. Don't answer that.

It also proves that Bioware never forgot about "skipper" when writing Ash. They just never included it. Posted Image WHY!? DAMN U WHY!? Really wished they kept some of this stuff in.

You guys keep depressing me by saying how many cut dialogues there were from the game between Ashley and Shepard. Such a pity they were all cut out

Damn, that would have been a helluva scene. Was that ever recorded, or did those lines never even make it that far? Is it too much to hope all this cut content could someday be restored?

Ya, probably so.

A simple one liner like "Hey Skipper!" which she says whenever you click on her would have satisfied me. :)

They've brought back a bunch of actors for the EC, including Mr. Sbarge so we can assume that Ms. Brooks also recorded a few extra lines for Ashley.  I just hope they have some substantial dialog and it's not all just throw away lines.

It's a total pet peeve of mine. If you're going to ask something, ask it! Don't leave me hanging and make me feel like I did something wrong.

"To answer your question, no matter what it is, is yes Ash."

Actually, I'm kinda glad they didn't let Ash get fired.

She deserves to be a Spectre.

Hmm. Sounds like romanced dialogue. She wanted to stay in the Captain's Quarters with Shepard.

I don't know that Ash deserves to be a Spectre. Would she make a good Spectre? Yes, I believe she would. But, does she deserve it? I don't think she has the experience for candidacy. And if she does, we don't know about it.

She doesn't deserve to be Lieutenant-Commander, IMO. Really, how did that happen? At most she should be 2nd Lieutenant.

I wasn't convinced Ash should be a Spectre when it was first announced.

After seeing her in game, I changed my mind.

I'm sure she got the slot partly because of pressure from Udina, who wanted to use her as a pawn. But the fact is, she still kept the Council alive long enough for Shepard to catch up with them, and (in my playthrough) she still knew who to trust in the end.

Now that I think about....what did Udina hope ot achieve by making Ashley a Spectre?

While she alway was skeptical abou the value of the council, she wouldn't want to assasinate them. Sure she might be suspicious of the aliens and their policies, but she wasn't going to join Cerberus.

As far as pawns go, converting Ashley to be a Council hating, Cerberus loving commando would have taken an eternity...

Eh, I'm with Youth on this. Ash doesn't have the same level of qualification Shepard did when he became a Spectre. She doesn't even have any special forces training (that we know of). Spectres are only chosen from the top tiers of their home militaries, and Ash wasn't at that point in her career.

Now, given her experience in the field and her apparently high aptitude scores, I'd say she certainly qualifies to be a Spectre candidate. Ready to tag along with another Spectre for field training. If only she knew a Spectre who'd be willing to take her on...

I think Udina just figured he could manipulate her. In short: I think he underestimated her.

He was also probably aware of her hatred of Cerberus, and her lingering questions about Shepard. He likely figured he could use that to turn her against Shepard should Shepard turn up at just the wrong time (as he tends to do).

I don't think he planned on revealing his Cerberus hand to Ash. I think he wanted to manipulate Ashley, use her tender feelings towards a big time promotion - a promotion that might lift strike the Williams name from the Alliance sh!tlist - to his advantage. Perhaps thinking she wouldn't bite the hand that feeds her - deny the man that made her a Spectre - and carry out his cladestine orders without hesitation.

You think that was part of Udina's master plan? Turn Ashley against Shepard? I intepreted the stand-off as a merely chance event with Udina stirring the pot of controversy between Shep and Ash in a last ditch effort to save his own butt.

Ashley even points out a flaw in his Shepard-works-for-Cerberus accusation, "Must've been a bad break up. Those bodies back on Mars were all Cerberus."

And Kaidan doesn't deserve to be a Major either. Going up 3 officer ranks in 3 years is just as unlikely as an NCO becoming an officer -- a senior officer at that.
If anything, Kaidan should be Lcdr and Ash should be 1st or 2nd Lt.

In short, Bioware didn't put a whole lot of thought into the ranks.

Maybe the Alliance lost more officers during the war with the geth than we thought.
