For my ending I want Shep and Ash to return to Earth...even though it's mostly rumble by the ending I'd imagine. I still think that'd be pretty neat though. It could be a sad moment were they finally see all the destruction on their home planet

But what if your Shep is a Spacer or Colonist? Earth isn't exactly his "home" planet then.

It's Earth. The human planet... AKA the mother friggin home planet.

Ima fight like hell for earth in ME3. Seriously everywhere else I couldn't give a crap about. I'm going to take back my planet!

They probably will. Not that it will stop me though. My Paragon bar is pretty high.

Yeah, Spacer main!Shep wants to spend the rest of their lives together serving the Alliance and making the galaxy a better place via asskicking. A proper happy ending for them is on a bridge, smiling at each other, readying their guns and saying "here we go again" as Joker jumps them off to some new destination.

Yes, to live happily ever after with ashley on earth after all the reapers are space dust, sounds like a perfect ending for the trilogy of Commander Shepard.

This is commander shepard and I approve of this thread.

I agree with this.... those are the type of things I want to talk about and learn more about from Ash in ME3. 

And they DEFINITELY need to bring back that conversation feel. That's another reason why the ME1 romances are better than the ME2 ones imo.... it felt like you were developing something with the character. 



As for the whole marriage thing. While I would like to think that they do eventually get married and my Shepard would definitely want to propose... I don't think it should be at the ending of the game. That's a little TOO cheesy, like Brainheart said, and a lot of people wouldn't want that as an ending.

I at least want the option to even mildly hint at marriage. If a Shepard romancing Liara can talk about little blue babies, surely it wouldn't be asking for too much for those of us with human partners to get something similar. In an odd, ironic way...with all the aliens and varied romance options, to get a white picked fence sort of romance...it's oddly satisfying. If someone wants to play Captain Kirk, they're more than welcome to do so...it may even be because of that that I relish being with a normal(ish) human.

Regarding romance dialogues...it's been said before, but I do have to agree. That I could pursue Ashley while establishing my Shepard's own personality really resonated with me. I don't dislike the ME2 romances, but some of them were...straight paths.

I still think marriage doesn't fit for Ash and Shepard. I find the whole idea of them putting anything to do with marriage and/or babies into ME3 really cheesy.

Save it for the imagination.

I mean my God, Shepard and Ash have barely even had time to have a relationship. Why would they just get married? Neither one of them strikes me as the whimsical romantical sap type.

Can't we just have an open ended "they are together and happy the end" ending?

If they ever got married it would be later and small and practical and Ashley would never change her last name.

Marriage, kids, sharing a life, romance - this is all beautiful and awesome. It's just not Ash. It's not her character... in my opinion.

I agree with what Badpie said, in the sense that I don't really want to 'see' Ashley and Shepard get married and have kids at the end of Mass Effect 3. Though I still do want to get a nice, solid happy ending that gives closure to this whole situation.

I imagine that, some day, they would tie the knot and raise some rugrats on some colony somewhere and start a new life. But I doubt it would be right after the Reaper invasion, presumably they'd like a few years of a relationship WITHOUT the sword of damocles hanging over them in the background before they got married.

I would like some kind of reassuring closure that confirms that Shepard and Ash are together by the end of Mass Effect 3. Like a final kiss or hug or something like that, right before the credits that confirms that yes, these two are together and it's a happy ending. I just think showing them getting married would be overdoing it.

Whatever the case though, Mass Effect 3 will be the end of Shepard's story and as such I hope there will be some closure on this whole romance plot with Ashley. I like the idea of Shepard and Ashley raising a family in theory, but in practice it would be cheesy.
Better just to let it have the open 'they are together and they are happy' style ending. Enough to let me get closure with these beloved characters and reassure myself that it all went well and they all lived happily ever after.
I don't need to see a wedding, just need to see that.

That's just my view anyway.

@badpie, I agree, it would be too soon for such a step anyway. Although I'm not sure I agree on marriage, kids, romance, not for Ash, but that just re-enforces the fact that they can better leave it with a more open ending.

I am all for marriage at the ending of ME3.

Ashley is a family woman so I can see her wanting to get married eventually and have kids.

It all depends on how this scene plays out. Can it turn out cheesey. Yeah it could but not if the writers do it right. (I know that is a lot to ask from the writers especially after the Horizon scene. Let's see how they are going to handle that in ME3. Can't wait to find out.)

I want to have at least the option to marry Ashley at the end of the game. For all the naysayers: Don't pick the getting married option if you don't like it.

This is an RPG. It means for us to have options readily available for us. I know some of us want that option to get married in the end and even to have children. The latter could be established in a scrolling text before the end credits though.

The marriage I definately want to see ingame.

I'd be okay with knowing that Shepley are staying together after the Reapers got reaped.

I'm guessing Bioware is going for more of a climactic "Spock" type ending where the lives of the many (humans & aliens) outweigh the lives of the few or the Shep. I foresee Samurai Sheploo taking out the Reapers by going out in a blaze of glory. Maybe Ashley will give us a 21 gun salute or better yet, shed her first solitary tear at the funeral.

Bam! This right here. But I think we'd only see Ash settled down with a family only once her career dies down first.

I really can't see a marriage happening anyway. They're both the only human spectres. Bah...Marriage, they can be happy and live together without a ring
