@Data: If I'm tired as hell I do not want to snuggle. I want the bed to myself, and want lots of room to stretch out. I also don't want to hear you talk, nor hear about your day, darling.

Lol. That's how it goes.

I'm going to say this now, then it'll be off my chest... Data, you are weird as f**k.

Still love you, though.

Now THAT is weird :lol::lol::lol:

Does it matter for our project if Ash sleeps naked or not? If yes, we definitely need to do a vote. If not ... well, headcanon is my friend ;)

I don't think it matters.

ASHLEY IS SOLDIER, STATIONED ON A MILITARY SHIP. SHE DOES NOT SLEEP NAKED. SHE SLEEPS IN WHATEVER IS REQUIRED.

Well, for sleeping nothing is required, so ... no headcanon was harmed today ^^

And yeah, in a way you're right. Women can be so annoying if you just wanna sleep. They usually talk about their day, their feelings, their problems and their angst. No offense to present ladies here ... it's just my experience. We guys are simple. We just want to snuggle in bed. And if you want to talk, expect we guys try to find a solution - even if you don't wanna hear it.

Good thing Ash is different here. In a way, she's a bit like a dude. Maybe that's why I love her character that much - she comes with a lot of feminine traits but is also "dude" enough to act as a best friend. Tomboyish for the win!

Okay, that made my day. That's why I can't resist reading this topic, even if i don't have time to discuss with you regularly.

Anyway, check this out. It's not all about Shepley romance, but it's still included. And really well done.

We're one big family and MBE is the younger brother pestering me all day but I would take a bullet for him so he sees another day.

Something like that. And Aurora is my li'll sis. Dare to hurt her, and I hurt you.
Ashley is awesome. She's the reason why we're all here. And almost like a family ...

Nice vid by the way. Can't watch it with full sound @work, will do today evening at home

If its symbolism, it out of place in the series. Mass Effect has always had subtle symbolism. Waking up due to Lazarus project, recruiting Archangel, going to the Afterlife bar, assembling twelve new recruits. Saving the Destiny Ascenion (see what they did there?). Fighting/ working for Cerberus (a dog which guards the gates of hell). Becoming a Spectre? These are all attempts at suble symbolism.

Dumping survivors on an unknown planet is not subtle symbolism. Its the literary equivalent of smashing a hammer on a delicately arranged crystal piece, in order to symbolize a new project. Its heavy handed, clumsy and out of place in the situation.

Perhaps it a testament to the writers of the series that even a screwed up ending hasn't caused me to dump Mass Effect series and declare the whole thing a waste.

Meh, I like subtle symbolism, but I don't think Archangel or Afterlife or the number of squaddies in ME2 is symbolic (maybe doing their LM's, but it's still a stretch). Lazarus Project, absolutely, Cerberus, sure, Destiny Ascension ... that's a stretch, IMO. Either way (no disrespect intended, I just can't figure out how to word this any better since its 3am), I think you may be confusing cultural/historical/mythological references with actual symbolism. Devs throw stuff like that in all the time because its cool (like Ash's boomstick dialogue), or the names of a bunch of the planets that are actually people/mythology figures. Doesn't necessarily relate to the storyline, it's just stuff that well-read fans will see and go "oh, hey, cool!"

The Ashley-hate runs deep. I dunno why ppl hate her that much. Guess those guys DO have a weak ego and don't take it well if a woman criticizes them. Well ... get over it. :police:

Most menfolk seem to think that women in videogames need to be rescued, have to act helpless, be the typical dansels in distress. Ash's character in its entirety says 'F*ck off' to that whole stereotype. She's strong independant, and while I'm not a guy, I think that most men would/should prefer women who actually know what the hell their doing half the time. Sure, you need to save her ass in Eden Prime, but as Shepard quite correctly points out that if they didn't happen along then Ashley would have contiuned fighting until she won, even if it turned into a Second Elysium-equse feat. (and of course if the bombs weren't there.)

If people can't handle Ash's kick-ass sassy attitude? They wanna hate on her? Fine. Then they can get stuffed.

... I'm currently functioning on two hours sleep so sorry if that makes no sense.

Well, I prefer a woman that knows what she wants.
The typical "damsel in distress" also needs a guy that thinks and acts for her, or she gets nothing done. You know ... that type of woman that excels in looking beautiful, but besides that, they're pretty much a burden, not the equal partner men are looking for.

Ashley knows exactly what she wants. And that makes her attractive. Despite the fact not being a legend or (in ME1 and ME2) not holding the same military rank like Shepard, she acts and feels like an equal to him. The only other woman in the series with similar traits is Miranda. And if you look close enough, you still find an insecure woman that just wants to be loved - while Ashley is far more independent in that field.

And then ME3 happened - and BW damaged that image of Ashley Chris L'Etoile created in ME1. Bet that guy was in love with his creation

people hate Ashley for all sort of reason, how can she be whinny and ****y when she is hardly in the game ?
most people seems to be just too self centered and does not  want to see things from her perspective.

High-five me, bro. Posted Image

Those people who call her racist annoy me. They're ignorant. How can they say that when there is so much evidence proving otherwise? Or the ones who call her b*tch... if you take the time to get to know her personally (during the date scene) she's hardly a b*tch now. Guess some people just judge and write her off quickly. They don't want to give her much of a chance at all. But meh. Posted Image At the end of the day, she's a soldier first, straight to the point, and she always will be. That's her job.

Actually, I'm still certain that Eden Prime would have become another 'Elysium' if Shepard and Kaidan hadn't shown up. If the Bombs weren't there, Ash'd probably win it out of her sheer desire to succeed. Hell, it'd probably wipe away the Williams curse crap and pave her way towards possible N status./

The funniest (or saddest) comment I saw once was something like this:

That Williams got shoved in our faces in ME3!
Right. You had to deal with her on Earth and Mars. And once you were those through missions (roughly 2 hours of gameplay) you can ignore her for the rest of the game. You can even kill her or send her off your ship. All you need is to take two missions - and technically, she only is part of your squad for ONE mission.

But you got her shaved in your face,

*sigh*

I don't wanna say what I do feel about other characters. And I can't send them off the ship. They're there and they can't die (in ME3 - a certain one can NEVER die in the entire series). Do I complain?
No.

Whiny low self-esteem kids are whiny.

And there are more beautiful naked Shepley!pics out there.

Now something entirely different:

Let's say Ashley and Shepard never give up their careers after ME3 (and both are still together) - what's your headcanon of Ashley's career (could be influenced by Shepard)?

My headcanon predicts civil war. As I stated, I follow the Indoctrination theory. Ashley lets Shepard go off on his own path because he's a little loopy by the end of everything and needs time to get his sh!t back together. Ash promises to keep his seat and room warm on the Normandy.
Some years after the Reaper war, all the homeworlds are about 50-60% rebuilt, but little else. Some wankers decide that now is a good time to usurpe the council's way of doing things. Eventually becoming a war on 4+ fronts. Ash and the Normandy's crew are on the minority side trying to maintain the council rule. Basically, it becomes the Rachni War, Geth Rebellion, Krogan Rebellion and First Contact wars all rolled into one. Shepard pretty much says a giant 'F*CK OFF' to anyone who wants his help, but when the Normandy and Ash get attacked, he dives back into the fray if only to protect Ashley and his friends.

In essense, Shepard saved the Galaxy only to watch it crumble anyway.

I'd tell you my Synthesis headcanon, but that's my fem!shep/Kaidan runthrough... and I haven't fully figured it out. To be frank, I don't mind the Synthesis ending I just wish it wasn't... ya know, Space Magic....

Oh hell naw. My Shepard is calling it quits. He's going to a cheap bar where the drinks are under 3 quid, and plans on getting smashed with Garrus. Ashley can serve on. Although, I expect Ash will take up an easier role within the Alliance after the war, and train recruits again. Everybody has a limit, and even though, Ashley would probably never admit it, I think she's seen more than her fair share of death, and doesn't want to see anymore if she can help it.

Sorry I'm a bit slow but Aurora that was great thanks!

My Shepard is getting out of the military asap. Probably he'll spend some time as a diplomat or ambassador with the Alliance but military conflict is out. He's done enough that he can just relax a bit more now and hang out with Garrus more often before heading home to Ashley.
I said ages ago I thought Ashley would maybe go into training new recruits but people said they couldn't see her as a teacher. So I agree with Mega

Also that's a really good youtube video, I like some of those comments telling the haters to ****** off

Ah, now I get it. I prefer: "Video was great...even better when Ashley began talking." Win.

I don't get those folks in the comments. They always same the same thing, over and over. And the two things they always say are: "She's racist." or "I nuked you on Virmire."

Pfft. Haters.
