Shockingly, that is true. They serve no real purpose in 3 beyond Shepard's nightmares or the Council stand off. After those events, they're largely forgotten. Which is quite a shame. Thankfully, my imagination is quite happy to fill in the gaps. I just wish it were on screen, not just in my mind.

It´s not true - don´t forget about STEEEEVE!

But otherwise for defense of Steve, we don´t have enough shuttles for crazy drive of that Vega loco ... imagine how many end up broken - each mision atleast one ... LOL

i dont think they will listen since hating ash is common among the fanbase (expect in this thread). It seems like bioware keep giving people reason to hate the VS like horizon and the citiadel coup

I think Cortez is an utterly useless character but I won't get into that. I think we all know the real (and only) reason he was implemented into the game.

I like the civil war idea. If there was ever a Mass Effect 4, that's probably what the plot would be depending on your two choices: Did you cure the genophage and did you side with the Quarians or Geth? If you made peace, then maybe it turns into an even bigger **** storm.

C'mon! The Coup was EASY! Negligence gets Ash killed, and even if you don't talk to her, if your Rep is high enough she'll agree with you anyway!

It's people's own negligence that gets these characters killed, not the characters themselves... unless they're Mordin and Legion, in which case, they choose to give themselves selflessly to their causes - but that's not the point I'm getting at.

The point is, The player - IE Shepard has to take an active role in getting to know these characters. You might as well just be playing a generic shooter if you could give five minutes to get to know them and their personalities. Wrex I didn't like initially, I just didn't like his appearance. Had a single conversation with him, then I changed my mind and thought he was a Badass. Liara - I thought she was awkward and found it endearing, kind of like the kid sister I never had or wanted, then her character went to sh!t between the end of one and the release of all the rest of the extended universe.

Her constant hitting on me and desire to be my besets bud (which I found annoying in 2 onwards) despite me constantly saying 'NO! Professional only!"... See, in 3 I can blame Aethyta for it, she eggs Liara on if you don't romance her. Tells her to act aloof and mysterious to attract my attention... doesn't work.

I somehow turned this into a rant fest... didn't mean to, but the point is, it's up to the player to arrange the world how they wish, not the characters to arrange things for the player. You want something like that? Play COD.

i think it is like what has said eariler, people with high ego feel offended when someone epsecially ash point a gun at him/her.  i agree with what you said about the player, talking to the charatcers, know more about them like their background, doing all those thing will make you care for them and you will try your best not to let anyone of them die like the suicide mission in me 2 where you do loyalty mission to make sure that they will survive the suicide mission

I know. It sucks. And with this sh!te ending, they can't continue any story past 2186 (when the Mass Relays got buggered). They can do prequels, but those rarely work out with one or two exceptions.

My main problem is I can't really say that I'm happy about how they Handled 3. Especially the Ardak-Yahkshi mission. Samara said there are only 3 in existence... you kill one, thus bringing the number down to two, yet there's a whole monastery full of them ripe for the picking?

At any rate, I would have loved to see more of Ashley's family. Not just her sister, who was waiting at the memorial wall since the first time I arrived at the Citadel (yes, I looked. Its the same character model all the way through the game). Would have been nice to meet her mother too... then get chewed out for dying on Ash the first time in the way only a mother could deliver.. or hell, just seeing Hannah Shepard and talking to her for a while instead of Hackett. That reunion would have been awesome! And rather than actively go speak to her, Shepard would have to be the one encouraged to talk this time. Probably by Ash who threatened not to give him any for a month (U no what I mean.).

I can definately see future ME games but sadly I doubt we'll get anything with Ashley and Shepard. I don't even know if the EC will help with anything. Sadly I think I might have to resort to this thread to keep my spirits up after the EC cause it helped when I was depressed after ME3, but if the EC sucks we'll all be depressed so it may take us all a while to get over.

@Aurora, I would love love love more Ashley or Shepard family scenes in ME3, I would have loved to be able to talk with some of her family at some point and sort of have them checking out this guy who their big sis has fallen for although I suppose the only times you have with her family are sad occasions so that maybe wouldn't be appropriate. Or have Shepard and Ashley be confronted by Shepards mum and she has a check over Ashley to see what she's like, I don't really know but something like that. Although if their relationship is a secret then that wouldn't really work either. Even if you could have a decent talk with her either once you hear of her sisters husbands death or else after the memorial service about family it would have been good.

Well personally Ushanka I agree, even though I do believe there is more they can explore without Shepard either pre or post ME trilogy. I however am a Shepard fan and only want to play as Shepard with Ashley by his side but I just don't see it happening and I think BW have already said there will be more ME but not more Shepard. I'd play a game as Ashley if I could but a current character will never get their own game, even though I think some of them could carry a game themselves

probably going to get flamed for mentioning this person.Diana Allers seems to be very insignificant in the game. Here is an idea that maybe give a better excuse to throw her out of the airlock, Tabloid journalism. she might have taken a few picture of Shepard together with ash on the Normandy, spread the pictures on the extranet which will create a scandal

I didn't allow her on in my renegade run through so I don't care about Allers.
If here in the UK we are having a big court case to find out about journalist behaviour due to phone hacking, imagine how much more sophisticated all that technology will be in the 2100s so anything Ashley and Shepard have done will probably get leaked to the press and spread all over the galaxy such as Ashleys emails to Shepard in ME2 or 3

Lol, it took me 4 playthroughs before I screwed up badly enough to have Ash kill him (ok, one time I shot him myself because I wanted to max out renegade). Even if you don't have a lot of paragon/renegade points, just do his family armor quest and you can talk him down. Hating Ashley for this is bs.
