I would humbly like to submit my codex style entry for the Shockpod. If it helps please imagine Neil Ross reading it
Orbital Deployment Pod (Shockpod)
The brainchild of Admiral Gerrel Cutter, the Orbital Deployment Pod, nicknamed the “Shockpod” by its users, represent humanity’s unique contribution to intergalactic warfare. When faced with the fact that many worlds would have ground based anti-ship a, the Systems Alliance commissioned a three year study into increasing the effectiveness of its fleet. The Shockpod was the result of that study.
Initially derided as insane and a waste of resources, the Shockpod represents a massive leap in the integration of “alien” technology and humanity ingenuity. Built around a sizeable element zero core, the pod is capable of being launched via any Alliance warship’s escape pod delivery mechanism or missile launcher. With the onboard eezo core providing power to its shields, the pod is able to withstand atmospheric re-entry at speeds unimaginable before.
Seconds before impact, the eezo core reverses charge to reduce the mass of the pod and its occupant, while the onboard thrusters provide lift, in order to prevent the pod being smashed on impact. With enough supplies to support a trooper for extended combat, the Shockpod allows deployment of coordinated companies within minutes, a feat not yet matched by the rest of the civilized galaxy.
While derided by its critics whom note that the eezo core of the pod alone is worth the price of a gunship, supporters have noted that almost every operation involving the Shockpod has been success. The brutal battles of Torfan and the Theshaca Raids saw the deployment of the Shockpod and its troopers to a resounding success.
this should help as well

Your shockpod concept gets my mind working, and that's always a good thing, right? Given how expensive they sound, I wonder how many could be feasibly deployed at once? I suppose, like the Normandy, they're so damn good they're simply worth it. And I suppose with a high enough successful landing rate, they wouldn't need to send in droves of troops. Just enough to get the job done.
I can see it now: shocktroops drop near an anti-aircraft defense camp, neutralize the big guns before anyone knows what the hell's going on. Then drop ships bring in the ground troops and it's party time!
You know what? If they ever do make another ME game, sans Shepard, I vote for playing a shocktrooper like this.
PS. Um, Ash rules.

It's obviously fake. And even so, Stanley Woo isn't even a Dev he's a moderator, and a DA:O moderator at that.
Ashley's father is a serviceman-third class, doubt he has the money to give his 'son' a sex change. It's complete BS… I’m laughing, seriously.
EDIT: I've read through the leaks... and there is nothing about THAT in there. I'm surprised at how many folk believe that crap.

Never was member of that thread so ... you get it.DWH1982 wrote...
Yeah, the ongoing split in the fan base is depressing. The Ash OT is practically dead these days. I seem to be one of the few people who posts here and in the OT.
Technically, the Ash-fandom is dying. For every new face stumbling into this or the other thread, two or three are leaving. Sure, we always had such times, but this time things are different. The last part of the trilogy is released, there won't be another ME dealing with Shepard, Ashley & co. The EC DLC won't add much new Ashley content either. The currently BIGGEST hope is, the DLC will bring back cut content for Ash and other LIs plus some kind of LI-related prologue. I don't expect more but I do expect less.
So in the long run, this fandom is dying.
Exactly. If you play male Shepards only, Ash is hetero in such scenario, even if you know Ash is available to fem!Shep as well. She's straight as long as you play a male Shep. Kaidan is straight as long as you play fem!Shep. Period. My own thoughts on the matter:
1. I wouldn't have really cared that much if Ash had ended up bi in ME3. My canon Shepard is male. I simply wanted him to have the chance to rekindle his relationship with Ash.
Ashley & Kaidan turn bi if you have a Shepard of the same sex. So technically, ME can't give you the illusion of bisexual relationships - either the characters are heterosexuals or homosexuals with any given Shepard.
Exactly. Besides that, a member of a religion today can still be gay or be. S/he just never outed him/herself, fearing dire consequences by fellows of his/her religion.2. I don't think her religion would have any impact on it. I think most religions 170 some years from now will be more tolerant about that, and it's never even established what religion Ashley is.
So in short: just because a today religion is AGAINST gay marriage and thinks being gay is a disease, it doesn't mean that religion has no gay fellows. It's a taboo in that religion, but they do exist.
Definitely. Even if Ash & Kaidan are not available in ME1 for gay relationships, a hint here or there could have helped to explain.3. If pushed, I'd say that my preference would be not to suddenly "drop a bomb" in regard to a character's sexuality in the final game of the trilogy. If Ash and Kaiden are bi, it should have been established in the first game, or at least there should have been subtle hints. Seems odd to do it in the last game.
Well, since Ashley didn't turn out to be bi in ME3, this is a non-issue. For Kaidan - well, his behavior was quite soft for a man, but even that is no real hint for a gay LI. There ARE soft dudes who're interested in women only, you know?
As I tried to explain: even if Ash is available to both sexes it doesn't mean she's bi. It just means she's heterosexual in an universe with a male Shepard and homosexual with a female Shepard.4. Nevertheless, it all goes back to point number 1. If they had decided to go a different direction with Ash's sexuality, I wouldn't have cared as long as Edwin Shepard still got to be with her. Frankly, Edwin Shepard wouldn't give a damn about whether she's bi as well, as long as he can be with her.
The difference here is, that we're talking about TWO Ashleys in TWO different universes not of ONE Ashley in ONE Universe where you can create a different Shepard. Every new playthrough is a different universe, so to speak. And every playthrough comes with a new Shepard, a new Ashley, ...

Ash is disappoint because everyone wants in her pants lol
Geez, it's hard enough for a Shepard who was in a previous relationship with her to get in her pants. Girl is hard to get.
Yeah, the flashback photo makes me sad.
Well, that's why I admire her. She's a challenge. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]
No,
seriously. Dunno why, but I don't really want to get in her pants. If
Ash were real - yes, she isn't MB, I got over it already - I'd love to
have a full blown relationship with her. Big deal. No half-arsed excuse
for sex.

That one was going around for a while. They did really everything to beat down Ashley. Wonder if Stanley did it 'cause he hates her - or he did it to test a certain fandom. Sometimes people do that.
Well, I don't think it even got discussed in the team. The chances someone wanted a bi!Ash are much higher than "trans!Ash".

I know there are few who want it, and the rest are against it, but Bioware refused to turn Ashley bisexual for a reason(s) it's out of character. As I said before, they were very aware of the character they've established.
Religious or not, I don't believe Ash is in denial about her sexuality, Data. She seems very confident in herself. Some people are simply straight, like yourself. Accept that that's who they are (and how Bioware wanted to write them) and move on. It's all irrelevant now Ashley is straight, that’s canon. We're beating a dead horse at this point. But who is this AMW you speak of? A lady friend perhaps?

Don't know what's happening with your churches, but ours was every time against it. And not only churchs. In time of USSR all gays was in madhouses, well, if somebody catch them. It's just for the note. I hope this explained my position. Don't be mad on me only. :]
Anyway, game already released, so, I suppose, they won't change anything... You know, before someone rEAlly asks them about it.

I do have the feeling in 22nd century mankind either finally overcome religious issues with love - or things go worse. Let's hope for the first one - I have no issues with nudists, open relationships, bi- or homosexual love. Love should happen, so to speak.
I hope she's still around. We had some of the greatest PM-sessions ever ...Aurora313 wrote...

i agree that turing ash into a bisexual will make her character seems out of place. maybe bioware did not have enough time/resources to write the dialogue, record it and make the whole cutscence
