I'm stickin' round for Ash's sake. Once the EC comes out, or hell, even before then I'm probably gonna quit the fandom.

Ok, they may take all the time they need. But the problem is that I'm starting to lose interest...

Gawd, I'm too soft for BSN

Will that mean a galactic dark age where all the systems with relays get obliterated? No.
Society's can rebuild, it just will take along time. Its just means "regionalism" will take precedent for a while, instead of the entire galaxy.
@Aurora: Does "quitting the fandom" mean the Mass Effect or Ash one?
I honestly perceive each character fandom uniquely different than the full ME one.

To me ME3 ends when Anderson dies and says his 'you did good son' line. If they even took it from there and worked on it I'd be happy. To be honest keep the current endings if they want all I want is more Ashley content and if I can't have her and Shepard being together then I want at least more explanation of what happened after the crash!
I had never really held a grudge against EA but since being on these forums I've developed some...negative feelings shall we say. EA had a constant dislike rating during their presentation at E3 which made me laugh and most of the comments were less than complimentary.
Right, I forgot about that scene. I haven't played ME3 to the end for some time now, and I guess I forgot it. That was a very touching scene, I would still prefer to know how TIM could control people but that was a great part. Thanks for reminding me

The ME1 soundtrack was great, I especially love the song during the credits, Faunts M4 part 2, I thought it was a great song and sat the whole way through those credits which I usually wouldn't do. Lyrically it just seems about Shepard and Ashley to me.
And I need you to recover, cause I can't make it on my own

I'll still play the ME games after EC only difference will be I will probably just stop after scene with Anderson and TIM. But I love ME, it's probably my favourite series of games I've played and characters such as Shepard and Ashley are two of my all time favourites!

For me the EC will make the difference. Either it'll make me fall in love with Mass Effect again or hate it.

Totally in agreement, I love the lyrics to that song. After seeing the credits for the first time was when I first started wondering what would happen to Shepard and Ashley. Also, ME was the reason I started listening to Faunts in the first place.

Seems to be a pretty widely held view that people are depending on the EC. I wonder if BW realise they are making the most important DLC they will ever make for a franchise?
Wouldn't bet my life on that one.
Maybe they know, maybe they don't. And: keep in mind, most players are not on BSN. They still can pretend we're just some rabbid fans while the rest may accept an half-arsed free-of-charge DLC that virtually only adds a few lines of text and maybe another CGI vid.
Who knows.

Yes, ME is best franchise for me too. And Shepard with Ashley are my favorite too.
But I think, that I already accepted the ending. I get what BW wanted to say. I'm just waiting now for epilogue.

And yes, lack of the mass relays means a new dark age. It takes extended periods, often years to travel between star clusters without them, and (I think) they also play a role in intersteller communication. Given that the galaxy is fairly interconnected, that means economic, scientific, and social collapse of the like that would probably take centuries to recover from.
I don't even want to think about what life will turn out to be like on remote colonies that required a connection to the industrial base to survive. Or what life will be like on Earth, with everything devestead and (potentially) a large amount of krogan trapped there.
