It is, MBE, it is.

Think the most heartbreaking moment is the one when her voice cracks. She knows everyone is going to die.

Does Liara sound like that if romanced? I heard only Kaidan's scene is more powerful. And Garrus is Garrus =)

Does the romance play out a lot differently if i never romance her in ME1?

Btw it is impossible to initiate romance in ME2 with her right?

It does. You get rewarded if you stay faithful, and Ash gets upset and trusts you less (understandably) if you cheat.

Nah, she gets upset that you went behind her back to work for a terrorists and didn't contact her for two years lol. In that moment she doesn't believe anything. Horizon ended something like this: "whatever it is you're doing, Skipper, come find me when you're done with Cerberus"-  You get an apology later for some of her words. With her saying "I can't lose you again." -Best damn love letter of all time, IMO. Posted Image That's it. Bioware wanted to keep the ME1 romances out of the game, but of course they caved in and gave Liara her very own DLC...

I'm still grateful that we got Ashley's voiced apology letter, though.

You know what I don't get about London?

Why do they still have the phone booths? I mean... No one uses phone booths in 2012. And in ME, it's 2186.

Because the Doctor realises that this is a horrible series of events that he can prevent easily, and feels that Shepard and Ashley deserve their happy ending! :D

In rides The Doctor! Saves Shepard from a horrible fate with the Tardis and whisks his crew away from Gilligan planet and delivers them to Earth! :D

I submit the ending did not happen. And that Headcanon replaces the last 30 min of it.

Ha, good point, DWH. In the UK people still use them, believe it or not lol

@Data; Kaidan's dialogue is twice as long that's why. Kaidan seems to always have more to say or longer scenes than Ash. But Ash is a straight to the point sort of person. She's not going to confess over and over how she respects Shepard and is extremely grateful for a crap load of stuff like Kaidan does, because Ash shows it. She's not a 'word person' she's an action person.

Still... it annoys me that Kaidan's goodbye is twice as long as Ashley's...

But more importantly....WHY DOES SHE NOT SAY SKIPPER?

just want ask, does a person fighting against indoctrination can only break free from it by committing suicide ?

Yes, there is no opportunity to get free from indoctrination. Only death will help.
Oh, wait, and if Shepard indoctrinated, than!..... :o

The only time they can break free is when a Reaper chooses to abandon their thrall, or if their will hasn't been completely subjugated, suicide.

Paul Grayson from the Books is an example of the Former, The Reapers left him when his body was critically damaged before he was shot in the head.

TIM and Saren are examples of the latter, they had will enough to shoot themselves before things got worse.

Shiala is unique, she was indoctrinated, but thanks to the presense of Thorian hive-mind spores in her and the Zul's Hope colonists, they were aware of the fact and able to fight against it effectively, possibly by listening to the voices of their fellow colonists rather than the Reaper. I'm not entirely certain how that would work...

Shepard's brain has been altered on a fundimental level thanks to the Beacons and the Cipher, he may become indoctrinated, but it will take a lot of effort on the part of the Reapers and probably would never be fully complete.

It's sad when part of me hopes for indoctrination. I actually don't care for the idea on balance, but I just think it would be more likely to yield the possibility of a positive ending for Ash and Shepard, if Shepard is capable of fighting it off.

I think that would be just lousy storytelling, mind you, because it would cheapen indoctrination and make Shepard look even more "special" than he already is. But even with all of those problems - it would be better.

Say... Who wants to be depressed again? Posted Image www.youtube.com/watch

That video reminds me that 90% of ME3 was good. But with the terrible ending we got... it just makes me angry about the whole game, even the good parts.

Nawh... Shepard seems like he's starting to cry in the Destroy ending... His eyes just start to slightly glaze over... I'm gonna cry now...

Where's my Ash? I need a hug...

Yeah... one more reason to like the destroy ending! Shepard's got mad tears in his eyes, then Ashley's flashback photo happens.. and it's... eh. D=

But why didn't Shepard just stand back and shoot, instead of walking into an explosion?

LOL LOGIC.

Because deep down he wanted to die too? Shepard's a boardline deathseeker the entire 3rd instalment.

In my mind, he's shooting away fully content to dying too, then when he remembers his companions before the last explosion he thinks 'Oh god, I don't want to die.' which makes mine all the more sad...

I think it would have been awesome if the player had the VS in their final team, if they helped Shepard up after being blasted down by Harbinger get back up and they both hobbled through the portal together - all the more poignent if the VS was on the final team in ME1 as well.  Shep and the VS started the fight together, now they'll end it together or something like that.

Still doesn't make much sense. Shepard almost starts to cry, thinks of the woman he loves and what he's leaving behind (AGAIN!) yet still walks on into an explosion... to die anyway.

I dunno.... I wish I was on the writers team, at least as a consultant for a day - hell an hour and when I read the draft ending I could just shout 'WHY?!'

I mean come on! The Warden and crew could survive killing an Archdemon if you played your cards right! They got a happen ending! Hell my Warden ended up as Queen!
Why can't Shepard and crew survive and get a nice reunion! Then Ash and Shep can find somewhere nice and quiet to hide and start a family!

This would probably be my reaction: "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS!? WHY WHY WHY!? YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!"

My Dragon age ending wasn't as good. My warden got Morrigan pregnant,, then she just... left. With my kid. B*tch -.-

Nah... I loved Morrigan. She was a great character.

I don't know what to expect from the EC. But if the endings get explained better... I would be okay with that. Just that. Hoping for more, though.

if all the other writers for me3 act like the way mgs4 writing team did, we will not have such things happening. what happen with mgs4 is that the creator of the series, hideo kojima wanted to the ending of mgs4 to end by killing off the main character. the other writers were against the idea which caused him to change the ending instead.

I've seen more depressing but it's still not a fun one to watch.

I too have a dream, I have a dream where all Ashley Williams fans can live in peace and harmony because they get the reunion with Shepard that we all deserve.

AD should pin that one cut dialogue about "death" in the first post.

I need it AGAIN to show Apathy in that other thread ... you know, the "slideshow" with the dialogue where Ash asks Shepard how it was to be dead.

@MBE: Yeah, Ashley is an "action person". However, she also uses words to express herself - something that's missing in ME3, thanks to cut content.

@Aurora: I'm pretty sure Shepard wants to life, however, the battle on London broke him. The entire farewell episode kinda shows a broken Shepard that only wants to end it once and for all - regardless of the prize.

Yes, and some of the trope websites state and I quote 'We recieve the impression that while Shepard is not actively looking for death, they would consider it a relief.'

I've abandoned any thoughts that there will be even one new path to choose. I'm okay with endings that already exsist. Just give me damn reason to say "It was worth it". And I'm certain that I won't change the colour when EC comes out. I mean, destruction I'll take, always.

Great point MBE with those manly tears and walking into explosion. But even during gameplay, you could shot million bullets to this glass thing, and until you cross that invisible line, there was no option to damage it. So I think that Shep just wants to be sure, and he's doing his last steps instincitively. He doesn't think about what's he doing, he thinks about his LI and closest friends.

I'm just curious if they'll decide to bring back all those cut dialogues. It would be reasonable to release one big SP patch with this EC. So... maybe we'll have an opportunity to hear more Ash?
