Kinda the way he deals with Liara, actually.
Meh

At the time I never felt offended that Tali hit on me, especially when she knew about Shepard and Ashley. I just never thought about how inappropriate it was until now.

Ashley is such a fun squad member to bring on missions.
Ashley and James are my favorite team now
That's the team I usually roll with in ME3. Sometimes I switch it around and bring Ash/Liara when facing Cerberus goons.
My Shepard doesn't ignore Tali and Liara, but their umm... 'interests' did catch him off-guard as he considers them both like little sisters he has to look out for. ESPECIALLY Tali.
Anyway, at least in my game Shepard will treat Ash in the way she deserves.

I mean I can understand why Miranda and Jack don't talk about Ashley or Liara. Same for Jacob and Thane. But I really wonder why Tali doesn't ask. Or why Liara makes her move in ME3, knowing Shepard had a thing for Ashley (or Kaidan). It feels as if they don't care for their friends just to get into Shepard's pants.
It's a generic issue. Seems BW writers simply don't get the dynamics of changing relationships, especially if the new lover knows the dumped one as a friend.
It's not Tali's or Liara's fault. It's kinda sloppy development or lack of unterstanding, Take your pick.

I like Tali, but in some situations she's so wrong (like making her move on Shepard when she's best firends with Ash).
Considering Tali was a kid when Shepard met her... meh. Sorry, don't pick kids up at the school gate lol. That's not my thing. If Ashley thinks of her as a little sister... she too young for my Shepard, bro.

I don't agree with that logic. Tali and Shepard are old enough to be together, just because Ash considers her like a younger sister doesn't mean she is really young, that doesn't make sense

Well ... we don't know how old a Quarian can become OR what age makes them adult. Afaik the pilgrimage sounds like the Quarian version of an initiation ritual - means: only if they finish it, a Quarian is considered as a full member of their society (aka adult).
Tali was on her pilgrimage at early 20 or so - so she's clearly adult in human standards. Not sure about Quarian standards 'though.
By the way: if Shepard had fallen for Liara at 25 or so, it would feel inappropriate since a 25y old Asari is considered as a child in their society, even if grown up physically. Hell, Liara is still considered as "teen" in Asari society!

I don’t care if it makes people hate Ash. But that line was the best they could do without making Ash go into full-on-b*tch-mode about it. Making Ashley mention Tali's age was genius in a way.
Ashley can say that Jack has a bald head, but if she said something similar about Tali‘s appearance … half the fanbase would call her a vile racist. It's not racist, if you're talking about her age! Smart. I get where they were going with that.

They can be together sure, if you're willing to risk your love's health for sex at first. Tali is too young for my Shepard. He thinks of her as a little sister, since she was a kid in ME1, and that outlook won't ever change even when they're 1000.
If that's your Shepard's thing, good for you. It's not mines thing, though.

It IS a bad move by Tali to try it with Shepard. It is ALSO a bad move by Shepard (or the player) to allow it. However, as I said, it's a writer's fault. Tali should ask Shepard if it's okay for him, if he still has feelings for Ash etc - and Shepard (the player) should be forced to answer a clear "yes" or "no" or at least a "I don't know".
Writer's fault.
Period.

Sure thing, MBE. At least Ashley sees Tali as teenager. And the way how she calls her shows how deeply Ash cares for Tali.

Yeah. They made Tali sound like a real backstabber by their carelessness. But that's there fault for wanting the VS out of the picture so badly in ME2 as well. "Don't mention the VS, and the player will move on to the new love interests" *PUSHES MIRANDA AND TALI IN YOUR FACE*
Still, I get what they were going for in ME3.
You do agree with me, that half the fan base would call her racist if she mentioned Tali's appearence, though, right? It was smart of Bioware to get Ashley to mention Tali's age. It is, in no way, racist.

Yeah, I agree. I can see it already: Ashley calls Tali a "bucketface" - ét voilà - nerd rage
(okay, "bucketface" is really offending ... but hey ... in some fields BW writers are so careless, bet that idea got mentioned at least once in their brainstorm meetings)
