I could have create a whole quote tree from the various responses I have read lately but decied just ot make this a general post . First of all I have No problems with anything about ash or miri personaly dess or the way the used or didnt use thier personality sensuality or body. I thought they were both well done .

It amazes me when I see people complaining about the way the women look or are dressed especially when referring Ash or Miri. attaire. The way Miri uses her body and sensuality is great and relistic to her  peronanlity and " real women" as well. There are real women that are alike to both ash an miri.

Really Real women do the same thing and peole talk about them the same way. "omg i can see why she ways hired ..." "i bet she was hired just for her skill". I was let go for no real reason a job years back and my replacement was a attractive female's its no secret that some women are able to use other "resources "

Look at exotic dancers and escorts. I actually have repect for the ones that willing choose to o that as a profession becase they break aways from what is " the natural order " and use thier natural gifts to make more money per hour than the average person does . The top ones could problem even match a top corp exec in pay an work less hours doing it. The 9-5 world is a slave market and i applauded anyone that free themselves of it .

Seriously the way people that complain about women being dress to sexy and using thier sexuality is amazing.

Would the complainers be happier if game companies dressed all the women in Volos type armour?

I agree. I do believe quite a few people on these forums are overreacting... it's as if they never even played a video game before.

Thanks  even after  posting there were more comments about how sexy  ash looks in me 3  I  think its awsome .

I'm not sure we have EA to blame for all of the changes in Ash's appearance. Remember - the Ash forum had plenty of people who wanted to see Ash with her hair down. Boware actually gave a very vocal part of her fan base what they wanted, and now we (including me) tend to complain about her hair being down.

I didn't mind her appearance in ME3, even if I thought perhaps her ME1 appearance suited her more practical nature a little more. People change their appearances, though, and Ash is a little bit of a different person in ME3. So, maybe it makes sense that she'd dress differently.

I like her hair down, even if I have a thing for the bun. My only issue is how impractical it is for combat.

Overreacting? I haven't seen any overreactions. I've heard people making mostly sensible arguements about this topic but everyones arguement I've read has had reason to it.

We can't really talk about Miranda in the same way as Ashley because she isn't in ME1 but alot of people who are Ashley fans from ME1 don't see the reason for having to sex up the character. It's a perfectly acceptable objection because Ashley wasn't that sort of girl and now all of a sudden in ME3 she is.
It's a mature game, I enjoyed the mature part as much as anyone else but I don't get why a female character HAS to be reduced to wearing an outfit that shows off either her chest or ass. I don't complain about seeing it for a 40 hour game but I feel people like Ashley were better suited out in ME1 when she actually looked like a soldier

Have to is dagree with most  of what you said but  i stated my opinions on appearance clothes over all sexyness in my long post.

hey we are differnt people thats normal but i will say. I think her make over looks awsome and her  new hairstyle is much better down ..  I think  her non-combat look  in me1 was sexy but didnt  like that  armour. Even her blue armour in me3 looks better that me1.

Can only assume this is directed at me or Spitfire as we are only two who have mentioned it but if it's towards me then please read what I say before making comments about it and you'll see you are wrong. I've never once said I didn't like Ashleys look in ME3 plenty of times I've said I like her old look as much as her new one and how couldn't you? It's a great look...but it raises questions as to why they did it?
If you can think of more reasons than what Spitfire suggested or reasons that aren't 'to get more adolescent boys buying the games to stare at woman with big breasts' then I'm all ears! Ash was beautiful enough and didn't need doing up, but since they've done it...I'm happy with it too

Edit: And there is no problem to me with you liking her ME3 look rather than her ME1 look. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, if we all liked the same things it'd be a very boring Earth. To tell you the truth looks wise I possibly prefer her in ME3 cause she does get done up and looks very good. But as a soldier, as a marine, she looked great and more realistic in ME1 rather than in ME3 where they just tart her up a bit. But each to their own.

I actually really like her blue ME3 armor.

My only wish is that ME3 would have let us customize squadmates armor the same way we could customize our own. So we could buy upgrades for our squads armor as well as our own, and change the color of our squadmates armor to whatever we want.

I prefer Shepard's N7 armor in black, to be honest, but I don't like setting it that way in ME3 because it feels like Cerbeurs has tainted the color. If I could set everyone's armor that way, I could justify it by saying it's just the squad color. Posted Image

I have been setting my Shepard's armor to blue, but I'm not sure if I'm going to do that anymore. The closest shade of blue to what Ash has doesn't look entirely right, I feel, so I'm not sure it's better than the default N7 colors.

DWH, I missed being able to do all that stuff too, don't see why you couldn't pick up or buy alternate armour for squad mates like in ME1. I suppose BW want you to pay actual £s or $s in real life for that pleasure

I  amnot saying I did not like her look in me 1  ...well her non combat look...I was not a fan of the me1 armour.  I guess  its just a differnce of opinion. which as I said earlier  is ok. I gripe about things to  just read my review . perhaps griping was the wrong word   I will change it to comenting if that is more accurate .

Well Nova, to me if I could choose Ashleys look it'd be ME1 for combat but ME3 for non-combat. I do prefer alot of what BW do in ME3 with Ashleys look but in my own humble opinion her combat look suits her character better in ME1 but when I see Ash in non-combat uniform in ME3 I cannot help but think that it is a welcome improvement. As we've both said though, everyone has their own opinions and there's no bother with that.

DWH, yea that blue armour is pretty good actually, this is why this discussion gets me so much because I loved her in ME1 and so try and argue for her look in that game but then I agree completely that she looks brillaint in armour or non-combat clothes in ME3 as well so I just keep contradicting myself Posted Image
Can you get alternative actual armour for Ashley in ME3 or is it just those different colour jacket...suit...things?

THIS

In Mass Effect 2/3 it seemed like most of the female squaddies were sexed up in some way - Miranda, Jack, Samara/Morinth, Liara's boob-job, Ashley, the Sexbot and whilst she's not a squaddie there's that thing in Zaaed's old room (don't know what an embedded reporter did to merit a double bed, I seriously hope Wrex and the Primarch got better accommodation than her when they were onboard).

Oh and FemShep, though Bioware failed in a big way with that horrid hooker dress

I don't really want to be able to buy new armor. ME1 had way too much in terms of armor and such. It was a pain to deal with.

I think each character should have had one set of armor that you could buy upgrades for (new chest peices, visors, new arm/leg peices) and that you could customize the color of, just like Shepard's N7 armor. On Shepard's armor screen on the Normandy, you'd be able to switch between him and the other characters, so you could customize everyone's armor at once.

I'd be okay with, pehraps, having one or two extra sets of bonus armor for each character, though maybe that armor wouldn't be upgradable/customizable like their default (also the way things work for Shepard).

It would have been a neat idea, because it would really allow you to make the squad look like a squad by matching the colors and everything.

Her new look (her hair down) is simply a immersion breaking experience for me. From a person with military experience, an Alliance officer would never actually do a parade or go into a fight with hair like that. Just look at femShep...does she have the option for long luxurious hair? No. Every female officer (and female NCM) Ive seen, has a bun during working hours or short hair. Its regulations. Now that Ash is an officer, she has to lead by example, first and foremost, and her new outlook isn't setting one.

Outside of work...hells ya!

I just assume the Alliance has lax regulations on hair styles for some reason.

Maybe the've received special gene mods that lets them grow hair that stays out of their eyes. Or something. Posted Image

EDIT:

On another topic that was brought up in the thread a few pages back (while I was at work): I actually feel like I met my "Ash" a few years ago. Before I played ME1 even.

To be honest, I think the reason I like Ash so much, and liked her from the moment I played ME1, is because in several ways she reminds me of this person I met in grad school. They don't look the same, and they''re not exactly alike in terms of personality, but they're close enough. She's even an Iraq War vet.

Too bad she was involved with someone else. I know from Linked in that she lives in the D.C area now, but I haven't talked to her in years. It's honestly still a little painful.

I'm sure they do, MShep can have beards and scruffy facial hair. You'd get a serious talking-to by a superior for that in the current military.

One of the reasons I always customize Edwin Shepard's appearance is because I got irritated with Sheploo's seeming inability to shave.

Seriously, I realize he didn't have a Dad in some of his backgrounds, but you'd think he'd have picked up the whole "shaving" thing somehwere. Especially that you need to do it on a regular basis.

So why do all the men have bodies sculpted like Brad Pitt? I find that rather sexist.

@Spitfire: If you're gonna bring regulations into this, then guys like Joker should all have their beards shaved.

Being a Sheploo lover (talked about a few pages back) I actually really like his stubble. I know he should be clean shaven but I like it, have even grown my own to look like it (I'm sad and I know it already). I could never customise him cause I have yet to see a customised Shepard that looks good but once again that's my own preference.

I'm sure I can get this to relate to Ash in some way...Oh right...Ash is cute! (Thanks for the idea Ushanka lol)

Reading that back I might come across a bit like Cortez, if you know what I mean, but believe me I'm not...I just think default Shepard is awesome!!!

My first few playthroughs of ME1 and ME2 were with Sheploo, but, honestly, I find him a little creepy, on top of the whole stubble thing. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.

For me - I eventually found a decent face on Mass Effect Faces then tweaked it a bit to suit my own needs. Too bad I had to tweak it again for ME3, since his cheeks looked like he was storing nuts for the winter. Posted Image

lol, I tried to create a custom face as close to mine as possible and I just added a light mustache and goatee. It amazingly transferred to ME3 fairly well, except for the eye color.

I always found Ash attractive, I loved how much of a challenge it was to romance her and get to know her. It wasn't like how Liara comes out and confesses her love for you after two conversations, Ash took work and to me that's so much more worth it.

Yeah, I think Ash's romance is one of the best written in all three games. And a big part of that is the way it's handled in the first game. You have a steady progression into the relationship. I don't mean to knock the other LIs, but it's one of the reasons why, to me, anyway, it's the only relationship that feels close to what you'd expect from a "real life" relationship.

Anyway, bed time for me.

I really wish there was more Ash fan art and screen shots out there to use. I keep repeating the same ones over and over...
