I'd rather Shepard get the hot chick. There's a good chance then that Ash won't get blown to hell. If Liara isn't the romance option at least she won't perish. But I know Liara will be if it's about ME1. It's BW after all, and you know how they are when it comes to Liara.

In the game, I think Shepard and Ashley's relationship comes together amazingly. It's something that a wider audience would click with, I think. Whereas Liara's is more of the exotic type. Space magic and whatnot. But considering that this movie is a “sci-fi” and to some space freaks (nerds), it's like a fetish. Unfortunately for us Ash fans. If a Mass effect movie comes out, they're going to focus it on the aliens more than the human characters.

What I want out of the Mass Effect movie is for it to be more military than sci-fi and that won't happen, I accept that. Does anybody else feel this way? In ME1 I loved the dark military vibe, but it was also kinda spacey too.

I'm not sure BW could actually do a ME movie based on Shepard simply because of Virmire. No matter who gets left there, a significant portion of the fanbase would likely rage.

Hi guys! Just making a quick drop in to tell you guys something I came up with that apperently, no one had thought of yet. A bioware forum friend had apperently googled it and found nothing!

You know that all the Liara fans have there saying, "Once you go blue, nothing else will do"?

I came up with one for Ashley!

"Once you go Ash, everything else is trash"

What do you think? Or was my friend wrong? Have someone already thought of this?

It's confirmed to be about ME1 and Shepard. Virmire is the biggest and most impacting mission. Someone doesn't make it out. Kaidan or Ashley? If Ashley isn't the romance option there is NO WAY I can see her surviving it.

Either way people are going to rage over that decision, no matter who they pick. Kaidan's fanbase is smaller than Ash's but that doesn't mean they're less vocal or dedicated. Hopefully BW don't go through with the movie.

I think Shepard's LI will be human female. Or Shepard is too hard in his work and he don't have time for this pathetic relationships! Mission comes first! Then maybe after all this mess he'll bang with some fangirls... LOL, that's too far. XD But I think Shepard has his fangirls.

Liara's a HUGE fangirl.

No, I don't want Shepard to be focused on the work. I want him to build a relationship with Ash. That way she'll LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D= But if he's a professional hard ass the whole movie then she's getting virmire'd, for sure. The odds are against Ash.

They will probably make Shepard male (typical) for starters. As to who he should romance?

Given that it is not my Shepards ... to be honest I'd rather he romance anyone but Liara & Ashley. Those stories would only be made half-as5ed anyway.

Let him romance Kaidan and call it a day.

Not win anything?.. well I'm not that pesemistic.. But one thing is for sure.
The can't make all the fans satisfied. It's just the truth.

To be honest, it feels like Bioware has painted themselfs into a corner. Let's just hope they make the most of it with the writing so they don't have to get to much paint on there feets when they can't do anything else but cross the painted floor. If you get what I'm saying.

I wished that the movie wasn't about Shepard at all since we all have different Shepards, romances, etc. Let the movie be about the First Contact War time span instead. That could be an interesting story ... more than stepping on different people's Shepards.

I have Shepards that romanced both Ash & Liara ... I don't really want to see Bioware do a movie on either relationship myself.

Honestly, the Relays are a trap, they restrict travel and exploration and condense populations, makes the Reaper's job easier for them. Destroying the relays destroys the trap. Sure they can be rebuilt, but it's on the Galaxy's own terms, not the Reapers'. I didn't mind Shepard dying, hell. I didn't mind the options. Just the one thing that pisses me off is why is the Normandy running? Why the hell is Ashley stuck on some random garden planet with the rest of my crew?

The only way I'd accept the movie is if the original character writers were involved, and if they stick to the game's trailers and romance Ashley. (since she's the featured romance in the trailers, in my eye that makes her the quote-unquote 'canon' interest)

Not sure what Bioware is thinking by basing the movie off of one of the games.

I'll be frank: Movies based off of NOVELS usually aren't as good as the original material, and a novel gives you more to work with. Sorry, but they do.

I think a movie based directly off of a game (rather than telling a unique story based on the game universe and characters) faces a pretty steep climb, even on top of the fact that movies based on games usually outright suck. It's just difficult to translate a story from one medium of storytelling to another.

PMC, I agree I would rather see them focus on something earlier than ME1. First Contact War, Skylian Blitz etc. Have Anderson or Sanders as the heroes and explore their relationship cause everyone else has too many variants in ME and so everyone can't be pleased with what happens. Or have a very young Shepard before he meets the crew of the Normandy and so he wouldn't have to have a relationship or if he did it could just have been a fling or something and so he could still be single going into ME1

Or you could, you know... figure out how to build your own mass relays and add to the existing system.

It's not magic, it's technology. Technology can be figured out and reversed engineered eventually. Even the Protheans just about figured that out for themselves. If the Reapers hadn't invaded when they did, they probably would have found a massive prothean relay system tied in to the existing system.

Given that they were building minature relays, the protheans might have even set up a relay on each world so they could avoid traveling direclty through space alltogether- like Stargate!

Now that I raise this idea, I think it would be an interesting direction for my head canon to take. The mass relays aren't destroyed, but they aren't functioning properly, and some of them have been realigned. This spurs research into the mass relay system, and pretty soon the Council sanctions constuction of new relays. Eventually this ends with them building minature relays on planets, like the protheans put on Illos.

It's not my Shepard and I'd be MOSTLY fine with him romancing Liara in the movie, but to me that just means that the chances of Ashley surviving Virmire are slim to none in that case. That's the only major fault I have with it. They kill off Ash in the movie, I'm gon b pissed, honestly. Most of us already get the feeling that BW hate Ash. They've certainly shown dislike towards her before. Since Ash's orginal writer is no longer with BW even less power to Ash and us. Even in ME3 the writers clearly didn't know what to do with her. Is a movie going to be any different? At least with Kaidan they did him justice (except for suddenly turning him bi at the end of trilogy). Besides, Shepard needs a human male soldier on the ship. My guess is Shepard's a soldier, and Kaidan's the biotic.

Ash is toast, if she's not romanced.
