Man, I am so pissed right now after getting sent "making the bus monitor cry." on FB. I got so angry that I donated to that woman.
I'm going to watch Ash hungover on youtube. Might calm me down a bit.

Sorry, I've never got so pissed at youtube video before. Bloody hell that annoyed me. I'm over it now, though. Watched me some gamer poop and alls good.
Ashley: Shepard? Where the hell is he!? Damn it. Fine. Let's play nasty!
Shepard: Copy that. *sits down, naked*
Ashley: Whatever generates your mass effect field.

I take it you voted "other" for Wrex?
You know it!
*Fighting urge to post picture of Ashley with Wrex*
Survivor, I think Ash won by like twice the amount of votes of Liara and Tali was far behind in 3rd. Probably wasn't posted or made a big deal of because Ashley won and won well

Anyway, here's the last poll with our girl clearly owning it: http://social.biowar...87/polls/35184/
Ash needs more votes in the current poll, though. She's drawing with Tali.

UPDATE FOR PROJECT PHOENIX:I think a War Hero Shepard's background is embellished a bit. I tend to imagine it more like Audie Murphy.
Why don't you guys post things like this in Project Phoenix's group discussion?
Y U TRY CHANGE RUTHLESS BACKGROUND ATTITUDE DATA?
And we're making progress on the War Hero background. Slowly but steadily. At the moment we are determining size, layout and look of the Elysium's capital city and well, Rome wasn't built in a day, and unfortunately for us, neither was Elysium. I have ideas for it's look and we have plans for Shepard's shore leave. [The reason he was on Elysium during the Blitz] I'll post that in group discussion ASAP.
We have basic sketches of Torfan. The layout of it's underground pirate base. Preliminary details for the Ruthless backstory. Major Kyle's role, Shepard's role. Why Shepard killed surrendering Batarians and why 3/4 of his unit was KIA. That information has already been posted at Project Phoenix. Too few opinions have been posted, however.
[The forty of you signed up but haven't posted your opinion, I'm looking at you!]
We have yet to begin work on the Sole Survivor background.
Also, Ashley's promotion to Lieutenant Commander... It still needs work! Get moving! The blanks won't fill themselves in.
Now, I've been discussing Ash's Post SR1 service history with a few of you. Spitfire. Rudy Lis. And I can say, the fanbase is at philosophical odds on how she spent her time.
Did Anderson and Hackett hook her up? Prevent her from returning to the boondocks on garrison duty? Did she undertake special training and become a special operative of the Alliance? Did she get screwed by the suits who sealed the records on the Normandy and Reapers and get sent back to a backwater?
These questions need answers, folks. ASAP. And please, be objective. Strive for realism.
Also, I've asked tasked several of you with determining other Project Phoenix details.
Spitfire - Ash's Commendations and Speculations on the 212 and 232.
Data, Brain w/help from Han - Ash's Pre ME1 Service History.
MBE and BP93 - Ashley and Shepard's spiritual backgrounds. Good job BP93. Mega, play devils advocate.
S1 - This has been a B*ITCH. It will continue to be a B*ITCH. We haven't received a response from the developers on S1 and we can't come to a consensus on it.
And why would she sport level 1 proficiency on her armor in the first place? Does anyone else?
IMHO, we fuggedaboutit until Post Officer Training. It really won't matter what it is then. It could be Special Operations. It could be Riflemen. It could be Shocktrooper. It could be Intelligence. It could be Warehouse Worker. But it won't have an impact once the Reaper invasion hits. It would just be a time sink and interesting backstory leading up to ME3. Show what Ash had planned on taking her career. All that jazz.
Shepard's Father - Posted an idea on this in group discussion. Opinions?
Shepard's Personality - Posted this days ago in group discussion. Opinions? *Crickets* If not, we can quickly cannonize the suggested template.

You know it as well. Despite the fact I hate the ruthless background with as much passion as I love Ashley, I have to accept it if everyone else wants to include it.
Whatever ... case closed for me. :innocent:

Wait. What are we deciding on? The last thing I heard was that we were merging two backgrounds together because most people wanted a goody-to-shoes Shepard who was with Ash, and me and you didn't exactly agree with that. What's this about Ruthless now?
I've lost my place in that group now. Every time I sit down and really think about it -- I get pissed at how Bioware treated Ash in ME3. There's no explanation I give you on a lot of things ESPECIALLY on her promotions. I can speculate until my brains busts, but that's about it. Bioware don't give two craps about Ash, and it shows. The only thing they really bothered with was making her look sexy. Then again, the ball was dropped on a lot of things in ME3, it wasn't just her.
But yeah, as Survivor said, isn't this group about Ash? To fill in the blanks that Bioware couldn't be assed doing? I think we're digging too deep into Shepard's back story for the majority of us to click with. There's some stuff I don't (surprise, surprise!) agree with.

This is a big reason I haven't felt that motivated to get involved. I gave it a try, but the problem is, I have such a solid concept of what "my" Shepard is like that all the stuff that's being done - merging the backgrounds, deciding on major decisions - just makes it hard for me to get in to. And now I wouldn't have time to get involved anyway, I'm afraid.
It's a good thing Edwin Shepard is a paragon and the autodiolouge mostly suited him, or I might have had serious issues with playing ME3. If I viewed "my" Shepard as mostly renegade, I can't imagine how badly the autodiolouge would have broken immersion.
I personally like the story that survivor has been writing as an explanation for at least some of the missing info on Ash, the gap in her military service after ME1.

Why tiptoe around him? He needs to be explored in depth to a degree. Would it not be awesome for Shepard to discuss his father's role in the FCW to Ash? Talk about his mother, his childhood, share a detail or two about his past with Ash?
I was reading a few pages back on the wildly different Shepards and attitudes of the Ash fandom and my goodness, if we didn't talk about what kind of man Shepard is, Ashley's LI would fall on the extremes of scarred orphan mercenary and a living breath Superman. Can you imagine a SuperCannon with twenty different interpretations of Shepard talking about the genophage cure? That's not a SuperCannon at all.
So we lay our foundation and stick to a template.
@BadExample; You're back on the Force! *Tosses Badge* Get back to PP, sir! You've been speculating? Where, sir? I see no speculations at PP. Hmm.
@Kalilkilic; Welcome to Project Phoenix. And just because of this comment, I'll be stepping up promotion big time in the Ash thread!

As for talking about childhoods that shouldn't be explored too deeply either. No more than, "I had it rough." or "It wasn't bad." when talking to Ash about it would be suitable enough in my eyes, and does the job.
Also, my Shepard's father is KIA. Easy. Explains why he's never in contact with his son, or mentioned. I don't know this character at all. He's completely out of the picture. Don't need to go into any more detail about him.
I agree on the personality, but it shouldn't be any thing too specific either. There should be room to manoeuvre. My Shepard is more hardy than what is written down here. He'll always be Commander Shepard to me, before Ashley's boyfriend. For Example (heh), 9/10 times I can't recognize my Shepard in the dialogues Captain Data writes up. I'm unable to picture my Shepard in that scenario, or talk like that when he's supposed to be a leader, (don't worry, Data, I still enjoy your dialogues =P).
What I'm saying is -- so long as you keep him as a respectable military man most people will recognize him as Shepard. That's the first thing I think about when I think of Shepard is, “capable military man” that's what he is in the games, has been all his life, and nobody can change it.
