Oh right ok I get it. I haven't actually heard much about it officially in that regard. Still here's hoping for something good

Ok, EC is confirmed but its only a 1 day space until its released. I wanted to have enough time to replay the series to fix mistakes(like sacrificing the council) but I guess I'll just have to replay ME3.

@Grimez; You shouldn't have to worry about it. Just download it and then play through the series. It will still be on your hard drive when you're ready.

^Good luck staying away from spoilers on here though. Maybe that's not a big deal to some but I'll definitely be seeing it before coming on here on Tuesday.

True, but I personally have never cared about spoilers. I read about the ME3 endings before I even got my copy in the mail. Can't say I speak for others in that regard.

Yeah, I'll be avoiding this thread until I finish myself. No offense to anyone here, but I can't trust you not to post them. lol

Going to play some more later on tonight. I'm at the date scene among a **** ton of other things to do on the Citadel so that's like a whole 'nother mission in itself. Might save the date for last though.

I avoided ME3 spoilers. Probably only made the endings hurt worse. I heard people were unhappy with them, but I never, NEVER thought it would be as bad as it is. Will be coming on here to find out what the EC means for Ash before I download it.

Anyway, there were some questions about what's involved in the EC. I direct you to the Extended Cut Known Features Thread.

On the question of where content is added:

There is new content between the Cerberus Base and the Catalyst.[11]

On the question of EMS and the "perfect" ending:

EMS has been adjusted so that the 'top ending' is possible without playing Multiplayer. [12]

On the question of length:

Around 10 or so minutes of content is added to a run with Extended Cut installed [16]

Note that this is fairly unclear. Is the same 10 minutes added to each run, or are there differences depending on which color of the rainbow you pick? It could be that there's a different 10 minutes for each choice, which would be a total of about 30 minutes for the entire DLC.

^ 10 minutes? for 1.9 GB that seems kinda...small. With all due respect to Merizan, she also said that the Normandy had crashed on earth...maybe thats been changed for the EC?

Wonder what happens to IT now...

I apoligize for going off topic.

Here have some Ash:

Ten minutes per playthrough. Maybe it adds a different ten minutes for every choice?

Any suggestions?  How would you redo ME3?

Enough for starter set or I should continue?

Great minds thinks alike. Most of your suggestions I also had in mind. I, as well, really want to see a Witcher 2 (I think that game is a better RPG than ME3) like path system in ME3, where you could role play as a Pro-Cerberus, Pro-Alliance or a rouge Shepard, with some support of the Council. Of course it would obviously affect your EMS and the attitude of characters towards you, especially the Ash/Kaidan. Nearly impossible for a game though.

I would also completely start from scratch when doing Ash and Kaidan. And recruit more old squaddies like Zaeed and Miranda.

I have more points that I could point down too, and you satisfied my curiosity for now.

Well, I play on xbox, and going through those lists, recycling or selling each piece of equipment, then having it go all the way back to the top of the list every time.

Always or when you selling lowest item?

Always.

Another thing I find bad is Ash questioing you in the middle of a mission, with Cerberus troops just around the corner. Not a good time Ash. Not a good time. Did you forget everything about following the COC and your training?

Heh, I was asking same questing. You seems to be first to agree. ;)

Well, when she is b!itching concerned during the Mars mission, I just see the image in my head of myself asking my section commander "Are you sure I can trust you?" during a section attack, while our lives are on the line. He would probably hit me over the head with his rifle, and tell me to STFO and fire or he would shoot me himself. That's why I am always renegade Ash doing the Mars mission...well except for the whole "Don't Ash me!" line during the elevator scene. That one l can live with. But, after that, she should have shut up about it and focused solely on the mission at hand, like she is trained to do.

Not just couple - whole 4 points!
Somehow that's reminds me of cheesy military anecdote.

You're in the forces aren't you? I have a suspicion, not so much from what you said, but from your attitude and language.

DWH1982 wrote...
Early part of the game should have included side missions to Thessia that would have introduced you to the hub world area there first. I'm thinking a visit to the University of Serrice to consult experts on Prothean tech about the crucible, maybe pick up a few extra war assets and help for that project.

It also would have been a way to resolve the whole Thenopsis side plot in game, as opposed to an off screen event. I'm thinking, you arrive at the U of Serrice, and if she's still alive, she's teaching there. So, you get this, "oh, I did good by leaving her alive" feeling. Then, after you've gathered some experts for the prothean project, indoctrinated Thenopsis comes out and shoots one or two of them, reducing the EMS you get from that mission.

The down side is that since Liara is a University of Serrice grad, that side mission would have for sure meant more dialouge for her. :?

wow, that would be really good to see in game, even if its DLC. How they dealt with certain characters during the game (Wong, Reeger, etc.) was just cheap. And, your idea would also enforce the idea that your choices matter. It would also make Shepard become connected to Thessia, and he/she has to lose it to the Reapers, making it even more of a impact.  I wouldn't have a problem with more dialogue with Liara on her home planet, as long as we get other characters as well.

Wouldn't mind Sur'kesh or where the Crucible, for hub worlds either.

The confirmed features thread has confirmed that there's no new gameplay. So, no exploration.

At this point, I don't expect much. I'm hoping a reunion with Ash is possible. If Shepard can be with Ash again, I can maybe hold back the bile I feel for the rest of the ending.

10 fracking minutes!!! That's it!!!
Now that is a ****** off. They've had how many months? And they only came up with 10 minutes?

I guess each squad mate won't get their due then. I am more honestly worried more about Miranda than Ash now.

Yeah, I think my current playthrough of ME3 might be my last one, at least for the near future. I worry the EC won't give me what I want, and if that's the case, I think it'd be better to try to get into some other franchise, at least for awhile.

Might go back and do a ME1-ME3 playthrough if I ever have the cash to buy a new gaming PC. My current one technically doesn't quite meet the reccomended standards for ME3, and issues pop up now and then.

Should make another crack at Fallout 3. The problem is, it doesn't have Ash in it, therefore it's inferior. Posted Image
Dannycni wrote...

Well you are wrong, you say I don't care about any character that isn't Ashley.
My apologies, then.
Dannycni wrote...

That is just plain wrong, simple.
Then show it.
Dannycni wrote...

Clearly I don't care about some other things as much as you do but I feel there is something slightly ironic about playing a sci-fi game and complaining about slight inaccuracies.
And I find it slightly irritating when people can't match the ****ing math between their own games. CCP hired economy expert for their EVE, no? Valve recently hired another expert for some reason (just don't remember exact news text).
"Slight" innacuracies ended somewhere in ME1. I could ignore them should they be held at minimum or of there was interesting gameplay and story (ME1 had both, so I ignored them).
Dannycni wrote...

And why would you play an RPG in Narritive? Sort of defeats the purpose but I'm sure I'm about to hear an explanation why it isn't. Otherwise the game can be a 40 hour game
Explain me how combat length actually affect game and "defeat the purpose"? Enemies are smarter? Behave differently? Don't just zerg-rushing you? No. Only two differences - how long it will take to hammer big game and how fast they deplete your shields. Of course they will use their abilities a bit more often, and? Ah, yes, Reaper in London. He's not firing at you on Narrative IIRC.
And game can be 100 hours, can you imagine? Generally it took about 60 hours of me to bean FNV, but once I had around 100. You know why? I launched it, got call from work, moved there without turning my PC off and when I returned next day, game was running 34 hours non stop! I just continued playing without loading.
Length of combat and travels means nothing. And like I said, with Valiant only big game can give you any headache.
Dannycni wrote...

Plus what do you mean hiding behind Ashley? She isn't here.
- What the hell you doing? Where are your manners - lady moving ahead of you!
- Begone! That "Good manners" book has no "Landmines" chapter. Don't stop, darlin', go ahead.
Dannycni wrote...

But that doesn't change the fact the old Ashley Williams thread got shut down because it was off topic, and this isn't the correct thread to come on and list every little complaint you have with the game.
I don't have pet peeves, I got major psychotic ****ing hatreds. And I haven't listed every one of them.
IIRC it wasn't me who begin discussion how good game is. So not to be unfounded, I not stated my disagreement on that, but also listed some of the reasons why I think that way.
Dannycni wrote...

10 minutes you say.
From what I've read, I got an impression this is time total for all ending combined, because someone said we won't be able to see all that ("all"?Posted Image) in one playthrough. So my money on 10 minutes spread over 3-6 existing ending.
survivor_686 wrote...

^ 10 minutes? for 1.9 GB that seems kinda...small. With all due respect to Merizan, she also said that the Normandy had crashed on earth...maybe thats been changed for the EC?
And given fact original "16 completely different endings" took about 700 mb, you can say how "much" of new content we will have.

Finally! Someone who actually likes Witcher 2! Where is damn "shaking hands" smilie?
And it's rogue, btw. Posted Image
No, it's just quite from one of moderators signature.

Sad but true. Reminds me complains on ADnD, why svirfneblins and drow got effective level penalty. For **** sake, just make it hard to play them, when traders refuse to talk to you and give you exorbitant prices! To some extent Fallout begin that, so it shouldn't be that hard.
Spitfire017 wrote...

Always.
So PC port isn't that bad... Well, it got jumpy for me only if I sell lowest item, so I stopped do that and stopped carrying stuff around.

Huge round of applause.
That's all I can say.
Because it was about the same things I was saying in all VS disputes.
And yes, I understand how this should look like from VS point of view:

Oh, crap, what gave me away? Where is my poison ampule, they sew them in elbow, right?

Curse a lot, eh? Well, that's what I brought home from army. One of things.
But as answer on your question: I served, in army, then in LE. No longer there.

Goddamned writer blocks....

Still stuck on chapter 2... I know I gotta just pick a path and stick with it, but I'm trying to skip the parts that everyone has already seen and establish my EB!Shepard's personality with extra content and I want to get it done by the time I go to sleep... say eight hours from now. My cap for myself is a minimun of 2000 words.

Also, I heard about the EC DLC being released tomorrow... I'm ambivalent about it. And yes, I'm going to contiune Duet Effect despite the series ending. Whether or not people continue to read it is up to them.

Bad joke appears:

NEW! FANTASTIQUE! LINES! FOR! ASHLEY!
Experience Ashley's new lines in our new Enhanced Content DLC she's going to utter whenever you click her!
Lines you'll never forget, like:

- Hello, Skipper!
- How was your day, Shepard?
- Mind if I move into your cabin? Don't answer it - I'm moving already!
- Next time pick the ARMOR for me in battle.
- Is someone watching? No? Good - let's have some sexytimez!
- Is it so hot or am I? Wait ... you're here too.
- Don't leave me alone or I'll hound you in hell.

Interested? Then download the EC DLC for free at 6/27/2012!

I just wonder what the EC needs to have to fully satisfy?
We know Bioware develops the EC to fix some stuff. Actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if the EC uses content originally planned for the release but it never made it into the game since BW ran out of time.

So the endings we saw can't be too much different from the endings in the EC. However, the fate of the Normandy feels tacked on. I don't know why - it simply feels like a last-minute decision. So there's a not-too-small chance the EC will remove that part of the endings.
Alternatively: the fate of the Normandy remains, however we get a conclusion if the Alliance was able to rescue that ship and its crew. Also we might see if FTL & co is still operational ... a short sneak peek in the future after the destruction of the Mass Relay Network is something I'd love to see.

And Ashley?
I'll be glad if she has the last lines in the game for those who romanced her, regardless if Shepard survived (and a reunion is possible) or not.
