I never understood why those who belittle Ash toss in "religious" alongside "racist" (etc) as an insult. I mean, not "intolerant of non-religious" or "close-minded." Just "religious." Do such people even realise how prejudiced it sounds?

This is ignoring for the time being the fact that I don't think Ash is actually racist (or falls under any of the actual insults, except for cross-eyed during certain unfortunate moments that I ascribe to bad graphics rather than, say, such a lethal sniper actually having deficient sight).

Alright people, take that childish crap out of here and stop derailing the thread. I frankly dont give a f*ck if you dont like Ash, or if you dont like any other character for that matter. But this is a SUPPORT thread. Keep it on topic, or just leave, form your own little group where you can all troll each other as much as you please.

Now let's get back on topic, please?

^This.

Thank you Funkcase.

I couldn't have said this any better.

This is the Ashley Williams support thread. Now lets get back on topic.

To those who are derailing the Ash thread. Be polite please. You don't want people derailing the threads of your fave characters right?

i've always liked ash and im super glad she's coming back big in ME3.

though i will admit, i'm really happy her hairs not in that awful bun anymore and that she's in more of a damage dealing role than being a tank. (gameplay-wise tank characters have never been super useful to me)

really looking forward to rolling with ashley and garrus again, it'll be like the good old days

EDIT- also, ashley annoys me, because ive been meaning to do a full ME1 playthrough where i romance liara but i cant seem to do it, i always run down to the hold to talk to ashley instead

The next time it takes three pages for any of you to simply ignore abusive behavior, I'll find a way to lock this effing thread myself. Seriously.

<_<

I'm also a big fan of the Bun and Bucket movie. I'll see it.

People, if anyone say anything to obviously insult Ashley ignore them and stay on topic. It's not hard. Also will bun and bucket be in 3D elektrego?

Hmm.. What line is that? The only one I remeber is this one -

Look at who I am Shepard. Do you ever hear me ask for help? It's not that bad things don't happen to me. If you stay with me long enough maybe I'll tell you about some of them, but I deal with them myself. I don't need a shoulder to cry on, a knight to rescue me or a man to make me happy. This is who I am. I like her. And you better like her too.

Did I get that right? I think I did. Posted Image

See this is why Virmire always upset me. These two in the same party is priceless. Ash is Kaidan's foil, and it's just awesome.

Ashley: "A million lightyears from where humanity began and we walk into a bar filled with men drooling over half-naked women shaking their asses on a stage. I can't decide if that's funny or sad." <_<

Kaidan: "What? You don't think they're here because of the food?" ^_^

Hello. I'm rusty at internet forums, but I wanted to voice my support for Ashley Williams. Nice to meet you all.

Edit: I guess I should say something I like about her.  As far as the Mass Effect universe goes, there's a few unique aspects about her backstory.  What helps me like her is that she explicitly loves her dead father.  Fathers in Mass Effect are either dead, missing, hated, or at least have strained relationships.  That Ashley loves her father and reads a poem regularly at his grave feels refreshing.

Welcome Fondi!

I liked the family aspect of Ashley as well. it's rare that you see someone in a miltary game are so muh about family beyond one mention of someone waiting for them back home.

Oh hey welcome to the thread!  I always liked that ash didn't seem to have any real daddy issues like everyone else in the ME universe.  Yeah he's dead and she loved him and wanted to make him proud but I don't think she has any lingering psychological or emotional issues because of it.  That's what was refreshing to me, that Ash seemed really well adjusted and happy despite some personal tragedy.  Everyone else seemed to rely on Shepard to fix them.  Especially in ME2.  That annoyed me.

Let's just hope they dont give her some daddy issues in ME3, we know how much Bioware love daddy issues, lol.
