Look at the bright side, atleast theres deffintly a possiblity of a renuion now with Ec (guess you still have to revert to your imagination though, but still)

It is hard to judge when her character model becomes invisible after getting out of the APC. Wonderful! Thank god for YouTube.

Yea I suppose it was a pretty big hole in the story they left by not telling us how and why your crew left you, so that helps. And it was sappy!

Considering doing a control/synthesis playthrough to see how differently Ash acts if shepard really is dead. It will make me sad though. :'(

Yea I'll agree with you there. I did like that and cause Shepard is alive (in most peoples game from what I read on here) then it seems likely they will be together. But I expected a bit more KB and Ashley dialogue, there was so little it's unbelievable! But Shepard is alive, the crew are coming home and in my game they'll be reunited so I guess I'm happy enough in general

I've also watched the other endings, I choose destroy, but I think EC makes them a bit better. I could actually be tempted next time to do choose control after seeing the EC for it. But destroy still seems like the only right choice. However, I don't think the EC gives those who choose it as much as it gives to people who picked the other endings because EC doesn't include anything with your Shepard surviving or being with LI and that was a pretty major part of the destroy ending yet it's not included. I suppose though the breath scene still happens after that so they probably argue you are alive but your crew just doesn't know it yet. Although that was something I hoped they would mention or have an extra scene in the EC about.


I feel the same way, that destroy feels like the only 'right' choice - and not just because it's the only one where it's possible for Shepard to reunite with Ashley (huzzah!). I find Synthesis to be incredibly  creepy in an interesting but disturbing way, it's got an unrealistic utopia society (which I think is doomed to fail because it's too perfect in a very dark way if you look and the comments EDI makes and imagery used) plus it involves one individual forcing change upon life in the galaxy for the so-called greater good which is usually not a good thing.
Control with boss!Shepard will end up being an awful reality should Shepard forget his/her humanity and become starchild 0.2. As the Catalyst said, TIM couldn't control the Reapers becuse he was already controlled so if you believe that Shepard is indocrinated (or can eventually be indocrinated) then this scenario is doomed to fail eventually. It could work out well though if Shepard can keep control.
I think depending on your perception Sythesis or Control can either be good or bad. 
My 'canon' Shepard was renegade in the beginning and said everyone had to be willing to die to sacrifice the Reapers which is why I felt that destroy was necessary, I'm also pretty sure EDI herself (especially if in love with Joker) would be willing to sacrifice herself in order to destroy the Reapers and the Catalyst permanently. Also, I still think that post-destroy it would be possible to re-create the Geth and maybe even EDI because the Catalyst is no longer around to interfer.
I really, really dislike the Catalyst and feel like it and the Reapers needed to be wiped from the Galaxy and destroy is the only way to achieve that (I guess it is also possible in the rejection choice because it is implied eventually they will be defeated thanks to Liara's beacon's info).
After everything they've been through I really did want some hope for Shepard and Ashley to unite and I really feel like destroy gives that, I know there are obstacles but I think Shepard can survive long enough for Ash to reach him so my headcanon now is definitely a happy reunion :happy:

What a shatty waste of time. Every bit was simply, "hey thanks for pointing out all the massive plot holes and inconsistencies we missed when casey and mac took over the ending, we'll be sure to plug them as best we can to save face over the next 3 months."

Some people like this ending better because it plugs plot holes, but that is a low standard because just introducing a new character and new overarching plot at the last second should be grounds enough for "worst storytelling ever." Others like it better because it gives more hope of a headcanon reunion. But if you want to see how an ending SHOULD take place, it's not perfect but play Witcher 2. There the ending is determined by your choices all along the way, none of this "all choices are available to everyone based on some crummy score because we couldn't figure out how else to say your decisions meant something."

I'm done with bioware. They used to care about making games which made them make money. Now they care about makin money first and games second and we've seen what that shift in focus leads to. Add onto that protecting the pride of the head studio people and you get what you see here.

Farewell Ash and Shepard. You will be missed. I think. Because I don't really think of you much anymore like I used to.

For a split second at the memorial scene when you saw Andersons name I was like 'Oh my goodness Shepard isn't on that list! Maybe the camera is gonna pan back and he'll be standing beside Ashley!!!!!' Then of course I was gutted when it didn't lol

It's a good scene. And you can't say that she doesn't love the guy, that's for sure.

Any other ending, but destroy kicks me in the gut. The others are up on youtube now.

I think she was when she has to put the plaque on the wall. I mean this is twice now she'd lost Shepard. But as a few others have said there just seemed to be something hesitating in her like she knew deep down Shepard wasn't gone.

So when is the LI reunion DLC being released with over half an hour of sappy LI dialogue and scenes???????

there is content on the ec files that suggest the next dlc is to do with the origin of the reapers and has more LI content but set before earth invasion, will try and dig out forum link for you after - its quite a good thread

She was.

I made it. Picked "Destruction" - and for the first time it felt right. It felt ... "perfect", to use TIM's words.
Shepard survived my playthrough with more than 7k EMS.

He'll have a reunion a few months after the end of the game. My current headcanon needs some minor tweaks, besides that, I can use 95% of the storyline I have in my mind. Let's say - if I can pull the stunt, it's going to have some impact ...

For now all I can say: despite being not perfect, we won't get any better stuff. It's the best BW could create in such short amount of time. In a way I believe we saw the -real- endings BW had in their mind after dropping the dark energy plot and before getting forced by EA to finish their game.
It still leaves a lot of space left for interpretation. It still doesn't make sense in some ways. At least, those additional scenes gave us ideas we can work with. The Citadel - not gone. The Mass Relays? Can be repaired. The Geth? Did you see 'em dying? I don't. EDI? She's not there - but maybe she can be repaired. Joker will do everything to get her back.

In short: I'm no longer upset. I made my peace with the old endings, but the new endings fit much better and remove a lot of issues I had with the old ones. No need to retcon anything or to construct major workarounds just to get the headcanon working.

And Ashley?
As I said, she's going to meet Shepard again. She knows he didn't die and is still waiting for her - you know, true lovers feel such stuff, and those two are much more, they're soulmates.

Well, have this dialogue ...


Ashley: This is it? The final battle?
Shepard: One more push, Ash. And then we're going home.
Ashley: One more push ... sounds great, Skipper. I hope you're right.
Shepard: You know what's at stake. Our future ...
Ashley: And you're not just talking about mankind, Turians, Asari?
Shepard: It's about us, Ash. You and me. And mankind, Turians, Asari as well.
Ashley: Guess you need some egoism to get through all that stuff we had to go through just to get here.
Shepard: Tells me the girl that's going to get married as soon as we're through.
Ashley: If the correct answer is "yes", I'll say "yes". Don't dare to die, Shepard.
Shepard: Leaving "Mrs Shepard" alone? No way. *smiles*
Ashley: "Mr Williams" should watch his tongue or he's going to be alone forever.  *snickers*
Shepard: We talk about names later, Ashley ...
Ashley: It's going to be a fight, John.
Shepard: Yeah, there's a fleet of Reapers blocking me from you-
Ashley: I was talking about the names thing. That war is ... well, you never leave something unfinished.
Shepard: I'm glad you're here with me, Ash. Couldn't do it alone.
Ashley: Let's get it done. See you on the other side, Skipper.
Shepard: See you on the other side, Ashley.

@ Rdubs - sorry to hear that. It was obvious BW won't replace the entire endings. They took what they had and repaired some issues we had with the original endings. And I'm just glad they fixed some no-brainers like the Normandy's fate. That's all. Never demanded for more.

Sure, the entire decision, the starkid and all that stuff is still there. Accepted. Still bad. At least it gets bearable since the plot holes got filled with stuff. We won't change anything here - no second march will do anything.

This is exactly what Ashley's needs. This DLC will get her talking a bit more on the Normandy. Hopefully she'll have an opinion and some romance specific lines.

So that's why KB was required in the booth twice. =P
