I had 3600 something EMS when I finished my last playthrough. Probably I'll have that much when I finish my current playthrough.

However, it's unlikely that I'll be finished for some time. As I've said - I only play on weekends, and the next two weekends, at least, are out in terms of playing.

That's my ending.
AGAIN! Link is REAL spoiler material.

Although a short scene I love this bit with all the ME3 LIs.

On a side note, I wonder what happens when Shepard takes the douchey 'you'd only slow me down' option.

DWH: I posted a link dealing with that issue: you won't need >4000 EMS and Anderson alive to get Shepard breathing. You just need 3100 EMS (50% of 6200) and keep Anderson alive for his final dialogue - which is possible without even trying.

I had 3400 EMS or so without MP (50% Readiness). With those additional N7-Teams (promoting your guys in MP) and 100% Readiness, I have well over 7000, almost 8000 EMS.

**SPOILERS**

I was talking about Ash being reluctant to put Shepard's name on the wall.

From what I've read elsewhere, she's only reluctant if you have 4000 EMS. Otherwise, she puts his name on, even if you get the breath scene.

EDIT:

Because i was naughty and double posted:

Well...you could 'cheat' the system and edit your war assets with Gibbed so they are worth more until your overall amount is over 4,000. I haven't done it myself so I can't describe how to do it but I have seen people talk about it on forums. Apparently according to Chris Priestly you won't get banned for editting single player stuff, only multiplayer. But I'm assuming that if you don't want to touch multiplayer you're probably playing offline and wouldn't be at risk of being banned at all? Anyway, love that fanart of Shepard and Ash, it's one of my favorites!

What are you talking about? That option doesn't exist.

Yeah, but it was pretty sweet that Shepard could say that: no matter what, or how it ends, he'll always love Ash (or whichever LI).

It was a good bit of sap before meeting up with Starbrat. I needed some motivation to power me through that. Sheesh. Nah, but the EC was good. I wanted a reunion scene, but I can live with what I got.

I approve of the EC

You said that already lol

Also, yeah man. Thanks for playing MP with me. You broke my heart.

At least Danny was there to pick up the pieces.

And you had me added on Xbox Live and forgot who i was.

My bad. Usually when people add me I like to be sure who they are, you know? That, and well before the whole EC hoo-rah I never really played that much. Just on and off.

next time youre on i should be able to play ME3 MP

Right. That'll do.

or maybe ill just let you speculate......;)

I like the EC, it still may not be the ending i was hoping for but it gives SOME closure.  I was really expecting some kind of detailed epilogue(kinda DAO style) but this was satisfying.
I still like Synthesis ending and i believe that Shepard's DNA is stored in the Citadel's computer and he can be cloned(minus all the Lazarus Project implants of course).  He may not be the original Shep that Ash knows but that's my happy headcanon ending.

I wish there was some reference to the Echo Shard that Javik gives before the battle.  That was like the best source of knowlage we have of the Protheans and it would suck for it to just be lost forever.

Well I just finished. Damn that was a lot of talking. lol I'll try to remain spoiler free here but it might also be kind of vague as a result.

The talk with star kid actually made sense now. They explained each ending pretty thoroughly instead of just dropping them on us like before and basically asking what our favorite color was. Destroy is still the best option IMO and it's the one I chose but I was SO tempted to pick the "Screw you kid" option out of sheer curiosity. Guess I'll save that for a later playthrough. I don't know if it was in the EC or not, but let's just say the Illusive Man pulled a Saren/Samara/Raan... Never got that before so that was unexpected.

The "pickup scene" attempted to fill in a plot hole but it also kind of created one in the process. How the hell does the Normandy make that quick of a pickup, essentially coming in from out of nowhere? The scene with Ash though was gut wrenching. Damn it, she wanted to finish the job! There should have been a "goodbye kiss" though. But I had a Backdraft moment right there so it wasn't all bad. Ashley getting hauled away while Shepard continues on: "That's my boyfriend, god damn it!" LOL.... (if you've never seen that movie, then either do so or just stab yourself in the eyes, repeatedly)

Hackett explaining the "life after Reapers" was well done too. Wrex and Eve are already uhh.. popping them out, Tuchanka being rebuilt to the glory days...Mordin will be proud and it actually made curing the genophage seem like it mattered. However, choosing the geth over the quarians. Oops. Rannoch might as well be renamed Chernobyl, I'll just put it that way. Zaeed chilling on the beach, having a drink. A flashback of all the squadmates, past and present, who died (no Kaidan, Kasumi, or Tali though... WTF?! I guess it's for anybody in ME3, not 1 or 2) during your playthrough.

The memorial wall scene honestly made me want to cry. lol My wall was full as is considering the ME2 crew all died (Chakwas..etc.) + a number of others. Ashley was obviously hurting in that scene. Poor woman, how many heartbreaks does she have to endure? I had a high EMS (6120) so I got the "optimistic Ash" instead of "after I put this on the wall I'm going to go drink myself to oblivion and kill myself".. I kind of like it that way. Allows for (us) to headcanon our own reunions. Gilligan's Island honestly was made even more pointless. I mean they get the Normandy back into perfect shape and take off? Meh. I guess it just took time to repair it.

My fanfic has been utterly destroyed but I don't mind. Overall, I'm satisfied with the EC. Some quality Shepley moments goes a long way. I honestly want to start a whole new playthrough now, the want to replay it again is kind of itching again. :D

EDIT: Oh and one more thing, what was with the echo when star kid was talking? Felt like I was at a church service or something, with everyone repeating after the Pastor or something. That was quite annoying.

The echo is the byproduct of them mixing in three voices for the Starbrat's voice (Mshep, FShep and the VA for starbrat). Some speakers actually distill the voices separetly, especially headphones (left side is Mshep and right side is FShep)

The EC does it job. Nothing more and nothing less. Mind you its not too difficult to improve on the original garbage endings.

I'm still wary about EA and Bioware products at launch.

Yeah, I could distinguish Meer's voice repeating. It was definitely distracting. Wonder what the reason for it was? Anyway I just saw the "rejection" ending... and uhhh... my curiousity for that ending is gone. Wow, talk about rock bottom.

Also, here's the Backdraft scene I was referring to. Mainly around at the 2:20 mark: www.youtube.com/watch ....What an amazing movie. lol

The Shepley moments made the EC for me. The pickup tugged at my strings.. :(

Helloo everyone!

Seems like we're talking about this now. First off, WOW. I thought the EC was pretty perfect. My complaints about the original ending were mainly because of the huge leaps we were forced to make to try to cling to some form of coherent series of events that made sense. I had way to many "WTF" moments in the original. The expansion answered all or at least most of those satisfactorily. And by that I mean it added enough that I was speculating on the right things - possibilities - rather than having NO WHERE to go with it.

That being said, I did destroy. I got the breath at the end.

Ashley specific:

Oh god. Oh god my emotions. Feelings everywhere. I just can't. That final scene.... I just.... *faints*

Also Bioware was great at choosing language and suggesting things that are easily speculated upon.

The Mass Relays are "badly damaged" not destroyed suggesting they can become functional again, possibly even soon because...

Everyone clearly still has technology and space flight so the whole stranded/starving thing isn't quite as dire as it sounds. Ships were clearly headed back toward their respective planets and they obviously got there considering the pictures we see in the epilogue.

We never see Ashley put the name plate up (unless your Shep actually died) and then the Normandy takes off. Think what you will about this but I choose to think that Ashley decided at the last moment "not yet," not quite willing to accept that Shepard was dead. Then off they go, back to Earth.

This is clearly possible since they never went through a relay to leave the fight, they only went to FTL. Stands to reason FTL could get them back to Earth in a jiffy.

My thoughts are all a jumble but mostly I'm just itching to fic the hell out of all this. haha

PS.  I thought the refusal ending was a glorious bit of fun trolling on Bioware's part.  Hilarious.  Every single person I know has in frustration at some point tried to shoot the god child out of anger.  Imagine trying it now and getting that.

"Yeah whatever star baby!" *BLAM BLAM!*  Then you fail at everything.  "OMG WTF WTF WHAAAAA?!"

Well if you ever do fanfic any of it Badpie, be sure to let us know. I'm a loyal reader!

The only thing I dislike about the memorial wall scene was that it didn't show your first name.. surely that couldn't have been hard to implement? It's just text.

The starchild trolled me when I shot at it.
I trolled it back by destroying every single one of its kind.
Some might say that was heavy handed.
I would disagree.

Ha.  I will eventually get to it.  Still plugging along with my main fic and this new ending leaves SO many more possibilities and directions I can take a story.  Before I was just like "I...I don't even... I can't even... What the hell just happened?!" haha

*gasp* Another chapter of Untitled Effect? :o

I agree though. The EC definitely leaves the "reunion" entirely up to the player. However they "meet up" again is pretty much up to you. I like that.

first name isn't difficult, but some people might have names too long for it.

So did any other Ashley fans out there chuckle when she said "With all due to respect Commander..." when Shepard brought her to the Normandy and told them to retreat?

:P

Some of you might not get the joke at first.

So who's gonna draw the pics of Ashley returning on the Normandy only to discover that Shep is still alive (which she suspects anyways)?  Best moment of her life, right?  And Sheps?  We have such fantastic artists on this board (or people who are good at tracking down fantastic art).  I know the fanfic dialogue is surely on it's way... :)

Yeah the way she says it too, you know what she meant Posted Image

In all seriousness, saying goodbye to her on the Conduit run and the Memorial Wall were my favorite scenes.

Chose Destroy btw. Matthew Shepard is looking forward to being with her again. When he's you know...conscious.

I thought the same thing, Ash wasnt going without Shepard. I had the feeling she knew it was the last time they would see each other. Made me cry, yes. I'm a 24yr old man and I cried.

I played it with 52% readiness(haven't touched MP in a month and i played a little bit of ME:Infiltrator) and when chose Destroy, i got the "breath" scene as well as Ashley not putting up the nameplate.

One thing i was kinda bummed about the memorial scene was the nameplate just says "Commander Shepard". If they had included your Shepard's first name then that would've added a nice personal touch to the scene.

Yeah, would have been perfect if it had your first name. Its just text, not like Ashley said your first name in it.

If they abbreviated Commander then it shouldn't have been a problem.
