If EMS is low enough (and I mean really low), it would be pretty dramatic for the Normandy to get destroyed by Harby right there and then. And, the only way for Shepard to survive the explosion is to go through the beam with Anderson. It would have been gut wrenching experience.

Why didn't Shepard make nachos? Plothole!!

Harbinger was shooting at all the other troops still heading towards the conduit.  I mean, sure it would probably be fun for him to take out Shep's friends, but if someone slips by him, they have access to the catalyst, and it's destroy option.  

in short, Normandy=/=immediate threat, other soldiers running at the conduit =threat

Exactly.  She's in charge THEY GO WHERE SHE WANTS - London.  Which from the footage in game will take them approximately 20 minutes to get there with FTL.  lol  I figured there was a least a day or so of minor Normandy repairs before they left though.  

I'm glad they didn't do a reunion type of scene. That thing is best left to the imagination I think. They heavily imply that will happen if Shepard is alive.  The rest is up to you.  AND FANFIC.  Hehehe

All I know is that its pretty clear to me that Ash is gonna be there when Shep wakes up in some hospital in London.

I also feel like this moment when she doesn't put the name up is the exact moment she decides she's not willing to accept he's dead.  Before that, when he made her leave, she had no hope.  I picture her crumpling to the floor and crying once the Normandy took off.

I don't think you're realizing the point I'm making. I know the smart thing to do would of been to shoot down the ship but in every single piece of media whether it be tv, comic books, novels, games, movies, etc. there are points where the hero or heroes could easily die but they don't it's just plot convenience, it's for the sake of the story. So making a big deal about it and calling it a "plot hole" is really silly.

Funny - fem!Shep receives the same facial expression as male Shep with Ash as LI. There it plays again - the friendship of fem!Shep and Ash. They're like sisters.

Too bad the game forgot to show that in the big portion between "Udina's coup" and that scene. <_<

This scene is totally correct.

Reaper IFF, guys. The same one troublemaker, stolen from dead reaper in ME2. Harbi doesn't have eyes I guess, and he treats her as one of them. Like during escape from the Earth, when our guardian angel Ash comes for rescue. No reaper is firing at Normandy then neither.

So I guess, Joker activates it every time.
