So I tried out the EC earlier with my Ashleymancer since I could bring her along on the push to the beam. I like how it turned out. I went with Destroy so Daniel and Ash could be reunited. In the flashback, I got Anderson, EDI and Ash. Was a bit upset that I had to sacrifice EDI (poor Joker) and it was Liara and Sam who were in the cockpit and Liara told Joker to follow Hackett's orders and leave. When everyone gathered at the Memorial Wall and Ash had Shepard's plaque in her hands, I kept yelling to her to not put it up lol (I hadn't seen the shot where he took a breath yet).

My Ash knows Shepard is still alive.

I was so happy when I saw her face. BW kinda confirmed the reluctance to put the name on the board plus the breathing scene were there to give us hope for a reunion.

lol, i um picked the control in that play through, have yall seen the low ems destroy ending though, its like a completely different failure ending now lol.

@ dahellraider no I haven't seen the super low EMS ending it very hard for me to get below 2k EMS with all my choices from ME1 and ME2 I start with a least 1.5k EMS, plus I am not the type that can skip over quest.

Low EMS Destruction Ending is pretty much "nearly-fail" - it's as dark as the original destruction ending - the BEST one. You know, when we thought the galaxy would fall into a dark age? That's the low EMS Destruction Ending now.

The new High EMS Destruction Ending feels much more positive and almost "pure" happy, 'though the loss of EDI and the Geth is the bitterness in this bittersweet ending.

Maybe my desire for a Shepley reunion has clouded my reason and caring but I agree. If some flashlights and an AI have to die so I can be happy then so be it. If they don't like it then it looks like someone picked the wrong day to be a geth!

Tbh, it is not Shepley reunion that forces me to pick "Destruction". It's more the meaning of that ending.

It's Shepard's decision. Saren wanted Synthesis, TIM wanted Control, but it was Shepard who wanted to end the Reapers once and for all.
It's also the ending that stands for free will and freedom, while the other two endings fully or partly subvert both ideals.

So yeah - that's why I picked "Destruction".

Shepley Reunion is the big badass bonus.

So My head cannon involves the happiest ending possible in another reality lol.

When i choose Destroy i can't help but see it as if i'm shooting Edi right in the face. Also that look of determination on Shepard's face makes it feel like he doesn't care about anything else. I suppose i should hand it to Bioware for making that choice so difficult cause if it was just the geth's fate on line i wouldn't have any hesitation picking Destroy.

I still believe that Shepard can be brought back after Synthesis. Part of his genetic material is stored somewhere on the Citadel so it's possible he can be cloned.

Oh don't get me wrong I don't just pick destroy cause of Ash and Shepard but as you say it is a big friggen bonus!

As I've said before I just can't help but feel destroy is the only real way ME was ever supposed to end and it seems like anything else would be a slap to the face of Mordin, Thane and Legion and anyone else who died so you could defeat the Reapers by destroying them. None of those who died, died hoping someday Shepard would control the Reapers or change all life, they all died hoping the Reapers would be destroyed and so to me it has to happen.

But wars have casualities and so I'm sorry to the Geth and EDI but it is necessary!

I just watched videos of the other endings and I still can't bring myself to pick control or synthesis. Control is just so wrong, what's to stop the new god-shepard from deciding that the reapers logic is superior and starts the old ways all over again? And for synthesis I still can't bring myself to force such a huge physiological change to every person in the galaxy simply because it's the altruistic thing to do.

I picked destroy and not simply because it offers an open door for a reunion with Shep and Ashley, but because it's the only way that the reapers are stopped. That's what everyone up to this point has fought and sacrificed for and to do anything else would dishonor that. Even picking the new ending just shows that the catalyst is still a reaper AI and when it's logic is thrown in it's face it reverts to the reaper form of speech. For all we know, everything it tells Shepard is complete bulls#!t.

I've only watched the videos of Destroy (low EMS) and Synthesis. I honestly felt like Bioware is still in favor of synthesis, since they cast it as a utopia, where everyone lives in peace and harmony and the Reapers become our best friends.

Ummm, sorry but that just feels unrealistic and ridiculous to me. Does everybody become connected to each other, in a hive mind type deal? If not (and it doesn't seem that way from the epilogue and EDI) then people would be confused and angry. More chaos and destruction would ensue. Or, did somehow Shepard's essence spread by the Crucible fundamentally changes human nature itself, not just the DNA?

It also feels like the "End of History." Any politician science or history students here who gets my reference?

what's to stop the "guardian shepard" from being the second harbinger? I would say his love for Ash is reason enough. Besides control is not that bad for Ashley sure shepard is dead but his spirit is alive and he can still watch over/talk with her (at least it seems so for me)

Destroy (high ems) well it's the only option for a true Ashley/Shepard reunion and possibly their children. Everything can be rebuild and live goes on.
Destroy (low ems) god when i saw Ash getting blasted by harbinger and that extended arm towards shepard my heart nearly stopped.

My scientific analysis for Synthesis is the Crucible takes Shepards DNA as a template and applies that to every organic in the galaxy.  Basically everyone just has cybernetic implants like Shepard did when he was rebuilt by the Lazarus Project.

As for the green eyes, that's no more silly than Shep going all Terminator if your full renegade.  Obviously Bioware needed something to differentiate Synthesis from the other two endings so maybe the glowing eyes and skin will fade over time.  If i were to headcanon that i'd probebly write it out all together.
