Even if Shepard could physically recover, there's no way in hell he would be allowed back on active duty because he's been through an emotional hell over the past 6 years. If anything, that's gonna catch up with him and slap him in the face all at once... maybe even ending with a breakdown or two.

He's plagued by survivor's guilt, and probably has the mentality that he should have died in the last battle, even with an LI to come back to.

Well, my Shep will recover the emotional stress one day, but his body took severe damage. Yeah, both arms and legs are still in place, but most of his cybernetics got destroyed and need to be removed. That alone is such a big trauma - I doubt Shepard may fully recover physically.

That's why he won't do frontline duty anymore. He simply isn't the same anymore. That's why I gave him a new job as ambassador in my headcanon. Doesn't mean he'll remain a desk jockey forever ...

True, ME has become so engrained as 'Shepard's Story' that it feels wrong to not have Shepard or his companions in it, or as major characters.

I hope they might be able to pull a revive in the future, but I doubt it'll happen.

If it does happen, you most likely be able to put your face in the game, lol. I be looking at a younger version of Kaidan.

Stumbled across this in the EC files. I certainly didn't see it in game. Might be of some help to you writers wondering what happened to the Normandy after the crash landing.

All three! Nah, crying and hugging would be pretty natural, I think. When Shepard forced Ash onto the Normandy the girl looked like someone just crushed her heart and killed all her puppies.

I don't know about slobby kissing, though. Maybe later. xD

I'd love a real sappy reunion DLC sometime in the future but I'm happy enough with how things stand atm so I can't complain...well I could but no one will listen

Danny, sadly a reunion DLC is very unlikely. I would love it, though. Since I can't imagine a reunion in my head at all.

It is heartbreaking and I can imagine Shepard being torn up about it too, he just has certain other things on his mind at this point, always the good soldier he is thinking about winning the war. But what was the last thing that went through his mind? Ashley

You saw the flashbacks, eh? The last face you saw is Ashley, smiling at Shepard. In a way it's a bit better than sad!puppy-Ashley, 'though it's the last Shepard saw of Ashley ...

Also, yeah. I saw Ashley dying in the EC last night at my mates house. His EMS was 3050 or something like that, and it happened. I was literally like "wut?" I thought he had enough... apparently not.

Does anybody know what your EMS has to be to get the Normandy to pick up the squadmates!?

Whoa! Ash can die in the EC!?!?!? I just assumed the Normandy scene was part of it and happened no matter what. I suppose your squadmates could die in the original beam rush with a low EMS but still...I'll have to look this up

Sure. Ashley can get vaporized with too-low EMS, also that second squadmate of yours.

Does Shepard look even more horrified if LI!Ashley dies compared to a non-romanced Ashley / other squadmate? I don't think so ...

Can't find any vids on youtube which shows the EC endings and doesn't have Liara or Kaidan as LI so I couldn't say if Shepard has a horrified or disgusted or tearful look if Ash dies, but he should or there should be a 'F*** it I give up' option to run into Harbingers ray if your Shepard couldn't live without Ash lol
