IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

The Normandy rescued Ashley. Shepard made it to the beam, choose to destory the reapers like he always set out to do - and didn't let anything or anyone waver him. Ashley orders the Normandy back to Earth to find Shepard. Years later, they refuse to seperate, get married, have a couple of kids and a dog called Ben. Perhaps also adopt a baby Krogan lmao.

I know, right? ME3 is so god damn depressing at times, if Ashley and Shepard couldn't walk out of it together at the end, I'll be one sad pup lol

My Shepard and Ashley will live on Earth, and help out with the rebuilding. After ME3, I can see my Shepard avoiding any future fights and the military to a degree. He'll help out on Earth. But there is no way he is getting dragged into politics again.

As for adopting a baby Krogan? I was joking, but they are cute, no? lmao.

Nah, if I was playing as Daniel (my Ashleymancer) and Ashley got killed, I'd go ahead and pick Synthesis. Daniel gets reunited with Ash, Joker gets to keep EDI. It's the same policy I'd have if when playing as my canon MShep Thomas and Miranda died on Sanctuary.

My Shepard and Ashley aren't living on Earth, they will visit often and have a 'holiday home' somewhere but they will want to live in a quiet planet out of the way and try their best to escape the public eye, just my own ideas

Okay, Project Phoenix Update:

Shepard is almost finished. Elysium-War Hero backstory is finished. Torfan-Ruthless backstory will be taken to a vote soon. Probably Monday. I'll check with group officers for date approval. If you haven't checked out the discussion thread on the integration of the Ruthless background into cannon!Shepard, now is the time to do so. We will begin Akuze-Sole Survivor planning immediately afterwards but there isn't much to it so it's details should be sorted quickly.

We can talk about a few details for context in Shepard's early background. His parents and life as a Spacer.

His service history is basically in place. His ranks and promotions and his service backstory beyond the three major events. He was serving with the fleet on patrol, most likely.

I see no major objections to Shepard's middle ground spiritual beliefs or his very basic personality template in his Characterization thread at the moment. Everything else about Shepard is up to the writers.

Ashley's service record needs work. I have asked three group members to work on Ash's Pre-ME1 service history. Data, Brain, Han. I can also go ahead and post the notes we have on Ash's service history from that time in group discussion for those of you who would like to check on progress or contribute.

Ash's service history Post-SR1 - Horizon is still very much up for discussion. There are a few opinions on that in PP.

But, Ash's service history Post-Horizon - ME3 Reaper Invasion is almost complete. Officer Training and IMO, S1 Training. That's all she had time for, really.

S1 is still a mystery as is Ash's promotion to LtCdr. There are thread topic open for discussion on those subjects as well. We have speculations, add yours and debate with posters.

I sent the Shockpod Q&A to a few of you, I believe. DWH1982 and Mr.Brainheart. I haven't heard from you guys about it, so I suppose either haven't had a chance to look at it or you've hit a roadblock. Let me know soon. We can explore other possibilities for S1.

And Ash's promotion to LtCdr needs opinions ASAP. With have three options listed in the thread, but if you don't like any of the options, state why and make a suggestion of your own.

 Does EA own the ME series now? I mean we can sit here and say that Shepard is done being a main character in a game but if EA owns ME its a 50/50 chance. Perfect example is Bungie and Halo. I'm pretty sure Bungie wanted Halo 3 to be Master Chief's last story and because Microsoft owns the rights to Halo they decided to make 3 more. Lets be honest, Master Chief is a huge character in the video game world just like Shepard. The name alone will make copies sell. 

I'm not saying any future ME games with or without Shepard as the star will be good but don't put it behind EA to start milking the name and character. The destroy ending gives you Shepard's breath at the end so they already have a starting off point, just make that ending canon.

It's a good point Gangsta. I for one wouldn't be surprised if we see more Shepard games in the future even if I do feel it is unlikely at the moment. The name is the big seller and if they didn't have Shepard to sell games they'd have to rely on Anderson and I don't know if they would make a game on him. Or they could make an Ashley game, we all know how loved she is among the ME fans

About Master Chief, only thing is the way Halo 3 ended you always knew another game was going to come out so I don't think it's really anything to do with Microsoft but they were probably very vocal about continuing the games with 343 Industries so they could continue to collect the $$$

As you said the destroy ending gives the possibility to continue the Shepard story and there will be alot of galactic political bs to sort out so there are stories available. And of course he could come back to Ash and that'd be swell. (Again though I don't see this happening)

Honestly if they did make another game with Shepard I would be very skeptical and I wouldn't play it if Ash wasn't in the game and romanceable. That sounds terrible but I can't have Shepard without Ash, I have a hard enough time beating ME2 again because she isn't in it. 

Edit: I can't BioWare wanting to make another game with Shepard being the main character or having the other characters return either but I wouldn't put it past EA. Only thing I would want at this point is some kind of post ending DLC where Shep and Ash get reunited.....wishful thinking I guess. 

At least in my head Shep and Ash are together and are happy with kids lol.

That is very true, I guess aswell most people are gonna to have chosen destroy so if they made a enw game and used it they would be continuing what most people picked in the game. Plus most people are going to re play the game so in some play through most people will probably end up choosing destroy so it probably wouldn't be too hard to sell to people.

 @Dannycni God I want that sappy reunion lol. The EC added two awesome scenes that brought tears to my eyes and kinda made me more depressed about the ending believe it or not. BioWare should have just been like "Ok, we messed up but don't worry" and then they should have released some kind of expansion giving everyone the ending they wanted. 


Thinking about it is just making me sad now  Gonna go stare at my desktop background of Ash to cheer me up lol.

Not needed.  It was heavily implied.  I personally feel that they could never do it to the satisfaction of everyone so that sort of thing is best left to the imagination and fan fic.  As great as they are, if Bioware actually did make a reunion scene people would complain that it wasn't exactly how they pictured it.

Yeah, a reunion is only possible with one out of four types of endings so I don't see how they can put out a DLC with content that control/synthesis Shepards wouldn't be able to access unless they redid their choice into destroy. I would have liked to have seen more, but I think they did the best they could under the circumstances. At least they confirmed the intent in twitter instead of saying "depends on how you interpret it la la."

What I don't like is being railroaded into self-sacrifice for 3 out of 4 endings. I was looking at the pictures for the synthesis ending and if Kasumi kept the greybox, she is reunited with her lover. I was just thinking why couldn't a high EMS game for synthesis allow for a similar reunion with Shepard and the LI? This is a picture of what I'm talking about. Know what I'm saying?

As to Shepard physically recovering fully, all I need him to do is recover enough to sit on a beach with Ashley, a dog and possibly a kid or two someday.

But I don't ever see Ash or Shepard retiring completely. They wouldn't know what to do with themselves. It would be a month of Shepard trying unsuccessfully to take up woodworking as a hobby and Ash trying to learn to cook. Then they'd both look at each other and go "We need jobs. Right now."

Always saw them as taking less dangerous roles in the Alliance or working as consultants or something. They may deserve the break, but I'm not sure they wouldn't go mad if they just stopped being productive altogether.

Ha! Ash would make a great drill instructor for new recruits.

I was getting confused about how apparently in Synthesis Kasumi is able to talk to Keiji. Then BadExamp1e commented on Ash being able to do the same with her father and grandfather. So I added that in theory she should be able to do the same with Shep then.

If they brought back everyone from the dead, every species, I imagine the galaxy would be a very crowded place. That particular picture of Kasumi and her dead lover, is way too much space magic for my tastes. :/

Shepard's the one who jumped into the beam, it's his "energy" which formed this DNA or something. He's not just dead. He's gone. He gave up everything for it to work. I don't understand the reason for the sad memorial scene, if Ashley was still able to talk to Shepard, or be with him like that. EDI probably would have commentated on it, if Ash could.
