You mean the "Leviathan DLC"?

Dunno. And even if that DLC adds extras for the romances, it's most likely least amount for Ashley. No idea why BW hands us the short end of the stick in that one, but I'm sure they'll do. It's easier to please the already pleased and further p*ss off the others.

(I should become a manager - or quit reading Dilbert comics all day)

@BadExamp1e If people want DLC that expands on the romance parts of the game then I don't see why thats bad. To each their own with what they want to see in the game.

I know the chances of seeing any DLC based around the romance is really slim but can't hurt to vote for it. More content is more content to me and I wouldn't mind seeing it considering I'm obsessed with Ash lol.

Yes. That one. And yeah, I agree. There will be no "Skipper" added anyway.

I looked through the files, and to me it looks like the male romances (Kaidan & Garrus) get the real, good romance lines. Guess who get the short stick? ... Yeah. Her with the big boomstick.

Well, fem!Shep needs some love too.
But the lack of good stuff for Ash is disappointing. Well, maybe the entire Leviathan-stuff is a hoax and won't ever make it to a real DLC. Or it does, and we're going to see more stuff.

A man can hope for a better day.

Man, I'm simply tired of making up 50% of Ashley's character sometimes. -.-

I get the feeling Bioware don't really know what to do with her, honestly.

Ashley had practically the same second goodbye. They seem to love making her say "I..." and get tongue tied. So much for being more confident with age.

Do you wonder? Her writer left. And her new writer either never checked ME1 or simply had not enough time doing so or ... doesn't care.
Since I'm a guy who believes in good, I'd say her writer had not enough time to check Ashley's character in ME1.

*sigh*
It's always the same. As soon as I think too much of what BW did to Ash, I'm depressed.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind it. But I don't see the need for it.

DLC should be about adventure, JMO.

Yeah, me too. :/

Ashley should be straight up saying, "Damn it, come back to me." or something that's straight up and out there, instead of tripping up (AGAIN!), "I..."

Who the hell just says "I..." as a last word in a situation like that.

ME1 Ash would never get tongue tied like that. She never. She'd tell Shepard what's up.

I'm pretty sure my Ashley said: "I ... I love you."

That. And I know why she didn't say "come back to me". Ash knew that Shepard's job was a one-way-ticket to hell. They all knew. That's why the sad puppy face.

Which is practically the same as the first goodbye except she's bloody and banged up lol

I was actually talking about the unromanced version, she just says "I..." as a farewell.

How about buck up and say, "Good luck. Do us proud." or something at least. Since it's supposed to be your last words to your Commander, and you don't say sh*t.

I don't know why Ash has only an "I ..." left for non!romancing Shepard.
If Shepard is male, I'd say Ash had feelings for him which never happened.
But I can't make up anything useful for Ash if Shepard is female.

The way I see it - BW don't know what to do with her.

The Ash I met in ME1 never had a problem opening her mouth.

I don't know if such lines would make any sense:

I ... I don't want to lose you again!

I ... it was a honor to serve with you, Commander.

I ... I wish I could come with you.

Something like that, maybe. It simply wasn't enough time I guess.

well Ash didn't say "come back to me" because it's Tali's line. I guess they left Ash as last and couldn't come up with something good. Tali is supposed to be this shy little girl and Ash the hellcat that knows what she wants and gets what she wants.

Eh, I guess. The extended cut beam scene was clearly developed to be a second goodbye to your love interest. Bioware have stated it. Perhaps that’s why in the unromanced version Ashley has the same look on her face and just says: “I…”

Which makes only sense if you picked a LI that actually can be a squadmate AND was picked for that last mission, MBE.

Well, at least BW did it. I don't complain about that. It's just odd Ash lacks some words in case she's not romanced. I really don't know what she could say with "I ..." - except for a male Shep that never romanced her.

The 50% of Ash I make up since ME3 was released still uses "Skipper". The other 50% of Ash are ME1!Ash and ME3!Ash.

Bioware being careless when it comes to Ash more than likely. I bet Garrus or Tali have better lines if unromanced. Ashley pretty crappy if you don't romance her in ME3.

Even if Ashley is unromanced, "I..." Can fit to anyone. Basically if you play as Shepard, Ashley looks up to you, your her combat buddy ect. Basically, she still cares for Shepard. It's just not... love. More respect and friendship.

You see how she is at the mention of the 212. And that's certainly not love.

I wish I were not that much of a cynic.

(Seriously: it's 1:30am, I read Dilbert.com the last 8 hours - it slowly shifts my character.)

Have this classy Ash - I go to bed ...

@MBE: maybe. I really, really can't make anything for unromanced Ash in that situation. Which is usually a sign no one could.

@Data; Well, usually the player would take his/her love interest on the last run, doing it together and all that. So I can see why BW didn't put the effort into the unromanced version, or bother to really change it in any way. They had limited space, too. Another reason, likely.

Yeah, but the beam run was intended to be a second goodbye to the player's romance, as BW have stated.

The beam run goodbye was nice, I loved it but it depressed the hell out of me as did the scene with Ash holding Sheperad's name honestly brought a tear to my eye but I picked destroy so for me in my head my Shep and Ash end up together again for a happy ending.

Here's another;

Flavor text from the artist:
I had a dream about Shepard, and when the Normandy was destroyed and she
died, she saw Ashley again. She was so happy, but Ashley simply hugged
her and told her she still had work to do…then she woke up with
Cerberus.

This.

And who wouldn't get a little choked up in that moment?  You're watching the person you love rush off to their probable death and you can't stop them.  And even if you could, you might not anyway especially if you're the kind of woman Ashley is.  She and Shep both know that no matter how much they want something, this mission comes first - or everyone dies.

I really thought that last moment was perfect.  There was no time for mushy overtures.  Just simple truth and naked emotion.

I personally felt Ash was written really well in ME3.  She may have gotten less screen time and yeah that kind of sucked if I'm being honest, but the attention to her love of family, her story about watching her dad leave with her sisters, all of the little personal touches we love about her were there.  Her writer did a fine job.  Stop trying to compare him to L'Etoile.

Oh and I updated Untitled here if anyone is interested.
