After my long writing break and prep I'm back. and this is one of many things I've been doing. I may be hinting on pancakes in the furutre and I may not. That one actully requires the most thinking haha.

I'd just like to say that while enjoyed everything the EC did for the ending, the goodbye at the beam with Ash is what truly made it for me.

That. And I know why she didn't say "come back to me". Ash knew that Shepard's job was a one-way-ticket to hell. They all knew. That's why the sad puppy face.

And who wouldn't get a little choked up in that moment?  You're watching the person you love rush off to their probable death and you can't stop them.  And even if you could, you might not anyway especially if you're the kind of woman Ashley is.  She and Shep both know that no matter how much they want something, this mission comes first - or everyone dies.

I really thought that last moment was perfect.  There was no time for mushy overtures.  Just simple truth and naked emotion.

I personally felt Ash was written really well in ME3.  She may have gotten less screen time and yeah that kind of sucked if I'm being honest, but the attention to her love of family, her story about watching her dad leave with her sisters, all of the little personal touches we love about her were there.  Her writer did a fine job.  Stop trying to compare him to L'Etoile.

Oh and I updated Untitled here if anyone is interested.

Yup. People already complained that Normandy-scene in the charge took too much time and felt a bit extra. There was not enough time for a lengthy goodbye. You had your chance with Ashley before the final mission, together with the rest of the squadmates. Shepard and Ash knew it was an one-way-ticket from the moment on when they returned to Earth. Both knew they were going to die most likely.

The final moment with Ash, before Shepard reached the beam, is less a goodbye than a plea: Ash simply wanted to be with Shepard till the end and die with him side by side if everything fails. At least that's how se that last moment.

I wonder how things would have turned out if Ash was with Shepard confronting TIM and the Starchild later?

imagine if TIM forced Shepard to shoot Ash instead of Anderson

even if this wasn't the cast i guess Ash would take the renegade interrupt a lot sooner than Sheaprd and probably shoot the Godchild on sight

I've never seen the breath scene, so I have a quick question: Do you just see Shepard's chest, or do you see any of his surroundings?

If you only see his chest, how do you know he landed on Earth, and not one of the Citadel wards? Especially now that (as I understand it) the Citadel survives the ending.

I'm tempted for my head canon to involve him being found on Tayseri Ward. Just a way to make the Shepley reunion a little more plausable - that way, Shepard doesn't have to survive entry into Earth.

Well as you can see in this video it seems Shepard survived the explosion and probably is somewhere in the debris at the bottom of citabel tower
not saying it would be easy to locate Shepard there but as Data stated Ash can handle this :happy:

The Citadel defense forces would be sweeping the Citadel for survivors. They'd find him long before Ash and co are back in Sol.

In my head canon, the Citadel forces find him, take him to Heurta (which is still standing, though it's pretty messed up) and he ends up in a stasis pod because between his injuries and his cybernetic implants, the doctors there aren't sure how to help him.

Looks to me like he's in the rubble of London. Plus the save that happens there is called "The Return." I like to think he and whatever other Citadel survivors (UM HOPEFULLY SARAH WILLIAMS INCLUDED) just got beamed back down to that location and wound up in some rubble.

Did you all notice how when he got to the Citadel they added the bit of him actually coming up through the beam? That was nice, because it was there that a lot of people were like "he never actually made it this is all a dream." Nope.
