Hate to be there when Joker finds out that there were options that would have let EDI live. Posted Image

*Joker walks into Shepard's hospital room, throws a pad onto his bed*

Joker: You mind explaining... what the hell this is?
Ash: Lieutenant, are you drunk?
Joker: Maybe. I am. But I just saw the classified reports. I just saw what you *points at Shepard* did to EDI!
Shepard: *groans in pain as he turns to look at Joker* Lieutenant, are you sure you want to discuss this in public?
Joker: You're. Damn right I'm sure! What did you do!?!
Shepard: Joker, there were no other options...
Joker: There. Were. Two! TWO OTHER OPTIONS! That would have let EDI LIVE!
Ash: All right, Lieutenant, Time to go. *grabs Joker, begins pulling him to the door*
Joker: *looks at Ash* I hope. You're happy. Both of you. You get to be with each other. What. Do I get? What did EDI get?
Ash: Get out of here! Out! And if I see you here again, you're going to need your own room! *pushes him out the door, and locks it behind him*
Shepard:... *stares sadly at the ceiling, as if lost in thought*

Sweet baby Jesus. I just read this - wow. That was REALLY good. Perfect even.

Now, I hope this guy writes a reunion scene for me when Ash and the Normandy crew sail back to Earth. I think he gets Ash's character very well. Too well. I'm suspicious. >_>

You guys should recruit him for PP!

I like to think the other options, Shepard kept to himself.  His burden.  There was only one way and only one option.  Ha!  I also like to think that in his injured possibly hallucinating state he doesn't quite trust that even really met the star child.  So his report probably reads something like:

Got to Citadel, opened arms.  Crucible fired.  Signed, Shepard.

Edwin Shepard reports everything. Part of his "boy scout" mentality.

Besides, a lot of people thought the Prothean vision was a dream or hallucination. So he's no longer one to discout that sort of thing.

EDIT: The trip back to Pennsylvania for a week that I had planned for today has been delayed, because a series of severe thunderstorms moved through the D.C. area last night and left many of the roads impassable.

While it's bad that I'll be going back home later than planned, perhaps I will use the opportunity to download the EC, and maybe play a bit more of my current playthrough.

I'd like to think that Joker, having been a part of the suicide mission, and hearing over comm what the collectors (on behalf of the reapers) did to human beings, would understand that there was only 1 option to get rid of the reapers.

I'd download the EC, DWH. It restored my interest in the series at least. Thanks to the EC there's now a decent chance of me buying future ME3 DLC. I can't say the same about future BW games however. I don't think I want to get invested the same way again when it comes to their games. I'll pass on DA3.

Shepard: You know ... Ash ... it was never easy to pick that option. It was like ... like on Virmire.
Ashley: It's okay. Joker knows that too. Just - he needs time. You would need time too, if someone did a decision that killed me.
Shepard: Yeah. And that makes me questioning all of my decisions ... maybe I could have avoided the entire war with just one different decision-
Ashley: Stop it. You know that's wrong - you did your best and bought us more time. And you defeated the Reapers. We all lost friends and lovers in the war, just ... EDI was the last one of billions.
Shepard: Not helping ... not really.
Ashley: I talk to Jeff, if that's helping.
Shepard: No, he's right. I should have taken another option. Maybe synthesis ... or control.
Ashley: And keep the Reapers around? "Dead Reapers is how we win this" - Hackett's words. He was right. There's no way to ensure the Reapers wouldn't go back to their old job. Or if you could get corrupted as their overlord. Skipper, you know as much as I do - ending the Reapers once and for all was the right decision.
Shepard: *sighs* I hope you're right, Ash. And I hope Jeff may forgive me one day.
Ashley: I hope so too. Well - maybe he doesn't have to. Heard Kenneth and Gabby tried to reboot the bluebox of the Normandy. They replaced some damage parts, but most of the mainframe was still intact, so there's a chance they can bring EDI back.
Shepard: Hope they can do it. I miss EDI - she was part of the crew. She was the Normandy.

Any takers for part III?

Gotta feel sorry for Joker but I think at the end of the day when he takes everything into consideration he'd know destroy was Shepards only option.

Yes I know It hurts at first but it gets better

Good dialogues there. Oh Ash! She don't take no crap from no one.

LoneStarJedi wrote...

Ash would have taken the highly skeptical stance that Shepard should have taken with the StarBrat, not wanting to listen to his BS. And as soon as he mentioned the Destroy option, she would have said, "Ok, there we go. Destroy. C'mon, let's blow it up." When Shepard said "Wait, he says there are other options", she would have said "Destroy. Now. Move it, Skpper." He'd say "Yes ma'am" and that would be that.

I'm awful at dialogue (narrative stuff I'm solid with- or at least used to be). So it won't be me doing Pt. III.

Nah, he's not whipped! Well, ok maybe a little. But you know, sometimes I think he looks to her for some perspective. Whether he's questioning who he is after being rebuilt, or his decision making after working with Cerberus, or hell even his own sanity after everything he's been through. My Shep, at least, would put great weight on her opinion because she reflects who he used to be. Who he was before the galaxy started messing with his head and putting him through the ringer. Remind him of his roots, or something.

Absolutely agree LoneStar. I got the feeling that Shepard always held Ashleys opinion in the highest regard and really looks to her above anyone else, except maybe Anderson, to give him advice and help him make the right decisions whenever he has some tough choices.

But he is whipped I mean come on, if Ashley said 'jump' Shepard would ask 'how high?' lol

As the old saying goes 'Behind every saviour of the galaxy is a smoking hot, strong willed, confident, smart, amazing woman!'

I gotta disagree. ME1 Ash? Hell yeah she'd march Shepard up to destroy kicking and scremaing, hell she'd do it herself. But Me3 Ashley has a cooler head and evne she would listen to all the options, especially when something like an old AI is explaining the origins of the Reapers and how to progress from here. eventually I think she would choose destroy, especially if you don't have to worry about the Geth if you killed them, but fif not she'd have a heavy heart while doing that knowing she's wiping out an entire species, and EDI.

LoneStar nailed it.

And come on, guys. Ashley's completely whipped too. Just Shepard's even more so, right?

Well, you know my position: Ashley and Shepard are equals and they constantly tease each other. Or whip each other, if you like it more.
(But tbh, Ash has a trick or two more in her sleeves. If she avoids Shepard long enough to wear clothes ...)

It's her womanly ways that make Ash more able to force Shepard into submission. I'm not saying it's a weakness or it is anything bad on either of their parts but I do think Ash has Shepard wrapped around her little finger, outside of the battlefield. On duty Shepard is in command and Ashley knows that but in private I think Ashley knows how to get her way with Shepard.

I don't think "whip each other" exactly fits in with the Shepard and Ashley relationship I saw.

I don't understand the big fuss about being whipped. I got whipped by a stripper on my 18th birthday. Was pretty sore. And embarrassing.

I'll back Danny's post on this one.

Why do I suddenly hope that stripper was female?

The "Shepard is Ashley's whipped man" story works quite well, but I see them as equals and both are constantly teasing each other off the battlefield. The idea, Shepard is whipped comes from the way how their love scenes are crafted in the games: in both instances, it's Ashley who takes the lead. That gives the idea she also takes the lead in their love. Which is something I greatly welcome - it makes Ash so much better fitting to Shepard than otherwise.

Yea I'm worried about myself too Example, I have a big Shepard poster hanging on the wall opposite my bed now, I love that man. But I wish even more that they had some Shepley posters, or at least a poster more of the characters, including Ash, in it cause I'd love some more ME posters
