Mars was awesome. The Coup was pretty damn good too. Together, ya it's a bit of overkill. After hashing it out on Mars and then patching things up in the hospital, they should have been good. When Ash puts herself between the council and the elevator only to have Shepard and co. walk out, she should have said "Oh, whew, it's you Skipper!" and then holstered her pistol. Don't get me wrong, I like the standoff as it is. Just wish it could have gone down a little different if you worked things out already.
I get what they were trying to do, and don't mind it at all, but ya it drags on a little too long. I mean sure, you worked for Cerberus. But you stopped the Collectors. Not to mention stole the new and improved Normandy, which they dumped a hell of a lot of money into. And it's crew along with it. Oh, and denying TIM the Collector base. That all should have counted for something. Or does it? I don't remember if there's any kind of counter across games.
ETA: does anyone else ever have trouble on these forums? Seems like once a week the BSN just does not want to let me post. Every time I click submit, or refresh, or go to another page it logs me out. I log back in, and it does the same thing. Frustrating...
I somewhat agree. It's pointless drama. But more importantly, it's also an excuse to kill off Ashley for players who don't like her. -.-
Ashley can lower her gun without a paragon or renegade persuasion - that's good for me, and spells trust.
If Ashley said, "Oh, whew, it's you Skipper!" and holstered her weapon at first glance - it would make her look incredibly stupid in my eyes. That goes against every instinct she has. Especially since Shepard’s company has their sights trained square on her. And her "Skipper" is aiming a gun at the only human council member that's gathering the movement for Earth. A man whom she has to protect first and foremost. She's not going to stand down unless she's sure.
Ashley doesn't really know all that though, does she? All she knows is that you were KIA, and were supposedly brought back by Cerberus science (the same Cerberus science which created those husk
slaves troops she sees before her on Mars), and that you AGREED to work with Cerberus.
And yeah, I have the same problem. I don’t know what to do about it.
