Mars was awesome. The Coup was pretty damn good too. Together, ya it's a bit of overkill. After hashing it out on Mars and then patching things up in the hospital, they should have been good. When Ash puts herself between the council and the elevator only to have Shepard and co. walk out, she should have said "Oh, whew, it's you Skipper!" and then holstered her pistol.  Don't get me wrong, I like the standoff as it is.  Just wish it could have gone down a little different if you worked things out already.

I get what they were trying to do, and don't mind it at all, but ya it drags on a little too long. I mean sure, you worked for Cerberus. But you stopped the Collectors. Not to mention stole the new and improved Normandy, which they dumped a hell of a lot of money into. And it's crew along with it. Oh, and denying TIM the Collector base. That all should have counted for something. Or does it? I don't remember if there's any kind of counter across games.

ETA: does anyone else ever have trouble on these forums?  Seems like once a week the BSN just does not want to let me post.  Every time I click submit, or refresh, or go to another page it logs me out.  I log back in, and it does the same thing.  Frustrating...

To be fair, at that point they knew Cerberus had indoctrinated its troops, the VS also knew that indoctrination could be a very subtle thing and she 'does' back down eventually (you have to pretty much be trying to get her killed). Going through C-Sec (and the minor missions on the Citadel after) informs you that pretty normal and trusted people were turning their weapons on their friends and co-workers to help in the coup. Considering Cerberus rebuilt him from the ground up it's not unreasonable for Ash to 'make sure' thus following her role of protecting the Council. It's different the two chatting casually in a hospital bed and then having a potential threat infront of her and her mission. Again, it doesn't take too much for her to drop it and then turn on Udina though.

From a third-person perspective when we know ourselves that Shepard is 100% himself it is frustrating, but poor Ash didn't have access to the wiki.

I somewhat agree. It's pointless drama. But more importantly, it's also an excuse to kill off Ashley for players who don't like her. -.-

Ashley can lower her gun without a paragon or renegade persuasion - that's good for me, and spells trust.

If Ashley said, "Oh, whew, it's you Skipper!" and holstered her weapon at first glance - it would make her look incredibly stupid in my eyes. That goes against every instinct she has. Especially since Shepard’s company has their sights trained square on her. And her "Skipper" is aiming a gun at the only human council member that's gathering the movement for Earth. A man whom she has to protect first and foremost. She's not going to stand down unless she's sure.

Ashley doesn't really know all that though, does she? All she knows is that you were KIA, and were supposedly brought back by Cerberus science (the same Cerberus science which created those husk slaves troops she sees before her on Mars), and that you AGREED to work with Cerberus.

And yeah, I have the same problem. I don’t know what to do about it.

The more I see "Sail my boat Skipper", the more I love it. Ash throwing the cheese back in Shepard's face would be hilarious.

Based on Ash's reaction to the strippers when you go into Chora's Den, I have to agree - she'd never do anything like that. No centerfolds or pin ups for her.

Now now, let's not get hasty. Pin up's are classy. At most she's showing off some leg on the beach as Shepard wipes out on a surfboard from staring at her. Tha right there is worth the price of admission

Plus Ashley has shown she definitely has a sexy side. If you turn her down during the romane scene she infers that she's off to hr bunk for some furious "me time" it's actually quite adorable.Posted Image

Something tells me that she'd never do that in public, but when they're in the cabin and she wants her Skipper's attention... I imagine thath she'll get a little... creative. :P

I've watched a video on youtube, where Ash gets killed in ME3 and the crew talk about her death. Joker says something like "I never really knew her" or something on those lines.

Saw the interpretation that line meant Joker wished he would have known Ash better.

Which makes sense. Ashley is still not trusting everyone and maybe she simply never opened to Joker that much like she did to Shepard. Maybe they never became "close friends" but remained on a more professional level? That also would make sense to me.

Ashley usually spent her time down in the armory in ME1, Joker never left the bridge. And he was "no people person" that time (that's what he said). Makes total sense to me Ash and Joker never became more than comrades or maybe friends "light".

It was made to please you guys.

And to show Ashley's slightly perverted side too.

Shepard: "Slightly"?
Data: Okay. Maybe not so "slightly".
Shepard: Last time she used that line, she tackled me on the ground, destroyed my uniform and ...
Data: Well, we all know she's a hellcat. I envy you.
Shepard: I had scratch marks on my back! And bite marks at my neck!
Data: I said: I envy you.
Shepard: I get that a lot.

The lack of activity here is disturbing.

Ashley: Indeed, it is.
Data: Well, I'm out of ideas too. Maybe that's the reason?
Ashley: You could write a reunion with Skipper and me ...
Data: Emphasis on "could" ...
Ashley: "Reunion", Data. I want it. Make it happen!
Data: Ash, we all want something we can't get.
Ashley: That reunion is mandatory. What do you want you don't get?
Data: You.
Ashley: I get that a lot.

^ that's the face I usually receive when asking her for a date in my headcanon universe.

Data: Hey Ash. Heard you're on a shore leave - and I'd like to invite you for dinner.
Ashley: Hey... sorry, don't know if that works. Skipper is planning something ...
Data: Did he ask you already?
Ashley: No, but-
Data: Fine. First come, first serve - you and me, dinner, 8pm, that's okay?
Ashley: I'm taken already, remember?
Data: Not really kind of an obstacle for a friendly date.
Ashley: Well, if you could keep it friendly, I'd say "yes".
Data: Promise.

--- later --

Conrad: You got a date with Shepard's girlfriend? You're DAT man!
Data: I do have my tactics.
Conrad: Mind to tell me?
Data. No. But I need some flowers, a collection of Tennyson's ... and an idea how to make it as romantic as possible to get her attention.
Conrad: You could try saving the galaxy first. Her current boyfriend got her attention that way.
Data: Mind to blow up a starbase or two and pretend to be a terrorist so I can save the galaxy?
Conrad: Yes, at your service!

Ashley: I'm sorry, I'll have to excuse myself. I need this man to tear my clothes off.
Shepard: *gets yanked away by the collar* Whoa!

Cause I'm working on Duet Effect atm, this leapt to mind.

Femshep: Look after him for me, Ash.
Ashley: You aren't gonna join the Normandy?
Femshep: No. Not yet anyway. My orders right now are too important to leave to anyone else.
Ashley: What's so important that you have to do in the middle of a Reaper invasion!
Femshep: I'm sorry Ash, it's a need to know basis. You don't.
Ashley: This sucks. How long will it take?
Femshep: Too long. Just - watch his back for me, Ashley. John won't admit it, but he needs it. And I can't be there to do it.
Ashley: I think we both agree on that one.
Femshep: You're my sister, Ashley. I'm placing my trust in you. Watch his back, and pull him out of this hellish nightmare alive... I don't think that either of us could survive losing him again.
Ashley: Yes ma'am.

Hello everyone, I'm back after a long absence. I finally finished downloading the EC this morning, so I should be starting my 2nd playthrough of ME3 a little later on, maybe get some EMS points going as well. I'm not sure how much more/extra stuff Ash gets at the end due to the EC, but I look forward to it. Hopefully it has just a little bit more decent closure on that point.

Oh, and still trying to fix up Shep's face to make him look like the guy Ashley knew. Man, did ME3 seriously butcher the face import function.
